Kids Art Show The 3rd Kids Art Show also known as Arts From The Heart In The Park will return to Riverside Gardens Park with the Elks Lodge secured as a rain location. Students in grades K-12 are invited to share 1 piece of artwork for the competition. Projects will be displayed throughout the park. The day will also feature guest speakers, music, hands-on art activities and more. Projects are due by Thursday, October 5th. They can be brought to the Rec Office or given to your art teacher at RBMS, RBCS or RBPS. Riverside Gardens Park /Back Up Location In Case Of Rain October 7th 12pm-2pm Please call the Rec Dept. at 732 530 2782 with any questions Adult Soccer: Please check our Facebook page @rbparksandrec for pick up games during the fall. We offer occasional drop in adult soccer for all ability levels. The next night will be Thursday, September 28th at 8:00PM on the main turf field at Count Basie park. Games are free, informal, noncompetitive and most of all, lots of fun! Elks Soccer Shootout The Red Bank Elks lodge will be hosting their annual Soccer Shoot-Out at Count Basie field on Saturday, September 23rd (with a raindate on the 30th). Sign ups at 10 am with the event running from 11-1. Trophies will be given out to the winners in grades 3 and up. Kids have the opportunity to go to the sectional tournament as well. The cost is free. Adult Basketball Adult basketball is slated to return on October 17th. The cost is $5 for residents and scrimmages will occur on Tuesday nights from 8-10 at the Middle School gym. Scholarship Opportunities Red Bank Recreation aims to provide safe, fun and memorable experiences for all the residents of Red Bank to enjoy. If your child would like to participate in a recreational program, we will do our best to accommodate you. If the family has difficulty paying for a program but would like to participate, please contact the Department of Parks and Recreation. We will be happy to offer payment plans, financial assistance or scholarships to assist families who wish to participate. Youth Sports Sponsorships Red Bank Recreation thrives on the generosity of our local businesses. If your business or organization would like to support one of our programs, please reach out to the Recreation Department. We have several options available for your business. We will do our best to showcase your company or organization in a professional manner and provide great visibility for your organization. In addition, you will be supporting the families of Red Bank and providing wonderful opportunities as well.

Games begin January 2018 Free Skills Workouts Begin Monday, September 18, 2017 Biddy Basketball (Kindergarten 1 st Grade) $45.00 - Resident $90.00 Non-Resident Hoop League (Grades 5-8) $55.00 Resident $100.00 Non-Resident Instructional Basketball (Grades 2-4) $55.00 Resident $100.00 Non-Resident Team practices begin in November and games begin in January. We encourage our registered players to begin participating in our FREE weekly SKILL workouts on Monday Evenings 6-7 pm (Kindergarten - 4th Grade) & 7-8 pm for (Grades 5-8) or Wednesday Evenings 6-7 pm (Kindergarten 2nd Grade) & 7-8 pm for ( Grades 3-5) or 8-9pm for ( Grades 6-8). Please pick one night to attend the Skills Sessions. Your child must be registered for Red Bank Recreation Basketball program in order to participate in these workouts. Workouts are led by professional trainers.

Upcoming Photo Contest With Prizes To Six Flags Great Adventure Grab your camera and start shooting!!! Once again, its time for our fall photo contest. Send your pictures by email or in person to the recreation office. All pictures are eligible to be in our photo contest. We are looking for photos of people, places and animals in & around Red Bank. Our pervious contest produced great pictures which you will see below. Prizes will be awarded for the best photos and all participants will be rewarded with a certificate. All ages (youth and adults) are invited & the DEADLINE is October 16th. We have several free passes to Six Flags Great Adventure as the prizes!!! Entries can be dropped off at the recreation office or emailed to: recintern1@redbanknj.org Please make sure your full name is on the email/photos along with a telephone number and indicate if you are a child or adult. Fall Family Trip To Cheesequake Farms We will be running a family trip to Cheesequake Farms! They offer several fun activities including a Corn Maze and Hayride. You can also pick-your-own pumpkins and fall vegetables. It will take place on Saturday, October 14th. We will depart from Borough Hall at 90 Monmouth Street at 10:00 AM. Transportation will be provided to the entrance of the farm. Please bring additional money for the corn maze and for any produce you will pick at the farm. Deadline is Oct 7, 2017 This is a family trip so children need to be supervised by an adult. Space is limited. Cost is $ 3.00 per person for transportation. Upcoming Halloween Happenings The 70th annual Halloween Parade will take place on Sunday, October 22. The line up will occur between Bergen Place and South Street. Line up for all walkers and groups will begin at 1PM. The judging for the costume contest will occur prior to the start of the parade. The parade kicks off at 2PM sharp finishing at the White Street lot. Games, prizes, snacks and music will be available at the White Street lot immediately following the parade. The rain date is Sunday, October 29th at the same times. Halloween Egg Hunt The annual Halloween Egg Hunt will occur on Friday night October 27th at Count Basie Field. We will start promptly at 7PM and the kids are invited to scoop up thousands of black and orange eggs. Its just like the Easter Egg Hunt, but we are Halloween focused. Afterwards, kids are welcome to participate in crafts, face-painting, Halloween stories and more. Halloween Movie Night Sponsored by the Red Bank PBA and Hackensack Meridian Medical Center Join us on Friday, October 13th for movie night in Riverside Gardens Park. Just like our awesome Summer movies in the park, bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy Hotel Transylvania on the big screen. The show starts at 7 and the cost is free. Events Coming Soon Veteran s Day Observance November 11, at 11AM Please join us as we honor our nation s Veterans. Our ceremony features military guests, community service groups and organizations, musical tributes and more. The event will occur at the statue on 51 Monmouth St with the Elks lodge serving as the indoor location if needed. Holiday Clothing Drive Beginning October 2nd, the Rec Dept will be collecting clothes for our Holiday clothing drive. We will take any lightly used items, with a preference for winter clothing. Donations will go to Red Bank families through the Rec Dept, St Anthony s Church and Lunchbreak. Receipts are available for tax donations. Santa Calls We have made arrangements with some important people at the North Pole to have Santa Claus call our children personally for Christmas. Forms and info sheets will be available at the rec office beginning in November. Family Ski Trip Anyone interested in going to the Pocono Mountains for a great afternoon and evening of skiing is welcomed to attend our upcoming trip. Date is to be determined however it will be a Saturday in January. After School All Stars Once again, the Rec Dept will be offering several after school options for our students to enjoy. Costs are usually free or carry a minimal charge. Children stay after school and are picked up after the programs end. Look on our website or via flyers for more info. CPR Class Due to the success of our summer CPR class, Parks and Rec will be teaming up with the Red Bank Fire Dept to offer CPR, First Aid and AED to our residents. More info coming soon. Indoor Soccer Returning in January, our indoor soccer program for kids will resume this winter. Games are played at the Middle School gym on Sundays between 9 and 4. Registration can be done now on-line or in the Rec Dept office with a strict deadline of Nov. 3 rd. Games are 5 vs 5 or 6 vs 6.
