C L U B INFORMATION A N D NEWS The Las Vegas Figure Skating Club is a volunteer driven organization dedicated to furthering the sport of figure skating in Las Vegas. It is a member club of the U.S Figure Skating Association. The LVFSC would like to congratulate Michaella and Gabby congrats at their performance at Caesar s! We would also like to congratulate and wish Michaella good luck in Disney on Ice! You have probably heard of and seen the ice dancing pair, Meryl Davis and Charlie White. Ice dancing is becoming increasing popular in the US, but you have probably never met an ice dancing pair in Las Vegas, unless you have met Alex and Joy. Alex and Joy are Las Vegas first ice dancing pair. They have been training hard and we d like to wish them good luck in the upcoming competition season! The LVFSC would like to congratulate Zack Sidhu and his partner Jessica Calalang in competing in Nationals this year! Hey Instagram users! D R E S S S A L E S One of the perks of being a LVFSC member is the dress sale! The LVFSC will be having a skate and dress sale on the first and third Saturday of every month. This will be held during skate school. Come buy some dresses or skates for children of any age. B A L L E T C L A S Do you or your child need ballet to supplement skating? Are you tired of paying too much for classes and dealing with recitals? The LVFSC is now holding its own ballet class. This class is on Saturdays from 3:00pm-4:00pm and is $10 a class. The class is held at the former North Stars Dance Academy on 4025 North Rancho Drive. This ballet class is fun and is a great benefit for skating. For more information call: 702-942- 7827 The LVFSC needs more dresses and skates for this sale. Only members can sell. Please donate any new or gently used dresses, skates, or skating accessories to the sale. This will help the club help you. You can also pick up a form at any dress sale. N E W A P P A R E L The LVFSC is now selling 6x8 inch stone iron-on logos! They re easy to put on and the stones don t fall off. They adhere best to cotton. Grab an apparel order form and get one now! The LVFSC club is still selling club t-shirts ($12) and club jackets ($60- youth, $65-adult, +$10 for embroidered logo on back, +$5 for embroidered name).
S K A T E R O F T H E Q U A R T E R Every quarter, the newsletter will be featuring a new skater. This quarter s skater is Katie Freter! Katie s favorite jump is her double flipdouble toe-loop combination. Her favorite spin is her layback spin into a haircutter. Katie s favorite thing about skating is stepping onto fresh ice every morning and does what she loves the most, ice skating! Katie is excited about the upcoming competition season. She just finished her new program and she likes it a lot. Katie s advice to other skaters during competition season is, When I compete, I like to just have fun, it doesn t matter if you fall, just get up and pretend it didn t happen. Always try your best! Katie is a wonderful skater with an amazing work ethic. With passion for her craft she continues to progress toward new goals and is always excelling. Coach Camilla Katie is a great skater and a great role model and we would like to wish her good luck in competition season and good luck in her competitions in the pre-juvenile level!
