Procedures for Applying Bonus Points and Falls SINGLES Technical Controllers Bonus 1. Bonuses may be called by the technical controller or the technical specialist during the skater s program, if no review is called. This season please be aware of the changes to the Novice FS program as it may be advisable to double check bonuses to ensure they have been applied correctly. 2. Review elements as normal, and apply bonus during the reviews as applicable. For example, if you are reviewing a 3Lz for edge and determine it is eligible for the bonus, apply the bonus during the review. 3. For all other elements eligible for the bonus, apply it before the read back. Do NOT review an element only to apply the bonus. 4. The sign for bonus will be b1. It will appear after the element code i.e. 2A b1 <. For a jump combination the element code i.e. 3Lzb1e + 3Lob1. Falls 1. The fall button will automatically deduct 0.5 for juvenile, intermediate and novice events. Technical Specialists 1. Bonuses may be called by the technical controller or the technical specialist during the skater s program, if no review is called.
Data Operators (DO) 1. Bonuses may be called by the technical controller or technical specialist in real time during the skater s program. 2. The technical controller will identify which jumps to apply a bonus to. If not done in real time, this will be done during an element review or prior to the read back. 3. The bonus button can be entered in any order of series for each jump. The following example shows 3Lzb1e<. 4. If the bonus is applied to the first jump in a combination, the DO must clear the box and reenter the element applying the bonus to the appropriate jump.

Jumps Eligible for Bonus Juvenile, Intermediate and Novice Ladies/Men All bonus points will be awarded the first time the element meets the criteria, not the first attempt. Juvenile Girls/Boys FS 1. Bonus for each double Axel 2. Jumps that are under-rotated (<), or full value receive the bonus. Intermediate Ladies/Men SP & FS 1. Bonus for 1 double Axel. 2. Bonus for each different triple jump achieved (solo or in combination/sequence). Novice Ladies/Men SP 1. 2.0 bonus for a triple/triple jump combination. The triple/triple may be the same jump, but must be different than the solo jump or Axel type jump. 2. 1.0 bonus for each different triple jump achieved not done as part of a triple/triple combination. Novice Ladies/Men FS 1. 2.0 bonuses for one triple/triple jump combination. Both jumps may be the same jump. If the triple/triple combination jumps are different, one of the triple jumps may be repeated for a 1.0 bonus. 2. 1.0 bonus for each different triple jump achieved not done as part of a triple/triple combination
List of verification rules not vetted by the system Juvenile Novice Ladies/Men Events Bonus must be manually applied through the review process. Juvenile Novice Ladies/Men FS Technical panel must determine where to apply +REP according well-balance program repeat rules. Intermediate and Novice Ladies/Men SP Technical panel must determine where +COMBO is needed when it s not apparent. Intermediate Ladies/Men FS Technical panel must determine when more than 2 different jumps with 2 ½ or 3 revolution are repeated to apply an asterisk when exceeded. Novice Ladies/Men SP Jump combinations that include single rotation jumps or repeated solo jumps may require manual editing to add asterisk(s). PAIRS Technical Controllers Falls The fall button will automatically deduct 0.5 for juvenile and intermediate pairs events. List of verification rules not vetted by the system Novice Pairs FS Jump combinations that include too many jumps require manual addition of asterisks.
