Brighton Middle School (TCMS) 2018 Ski and Snowboard Club Informational Packet Dear Parents, October 17, 2017 This season the Brighton Ski/Snowboard Club will again participate in an instructional program at Bristol Mountain, a ski area located about thirty (30) miles south of Rochester. This year s program includes 6(six) full days of skiing and lessons. 2018 Dates for our 6 trips: Saturday, January 6 Saturday, January 13 Saturday, January 20 Saturday, January 27 Saturday, February 3 Saturday, February 10 *Make up date: Saturday, February 17 in case of no snow 1/6 2018 Discounted Student Pricing through our school s Ski Club: a.) Bus transportation to and from Bristol Mountain: $125 per student This check is made payable to TCMS Ski Club b.) Student Snowsports Club Pass. Valid on all(13) Saturdays: $265 This is purchased from Bristol s web site Cost without rentals: $390 c.) Unlimited Ski or Snowboard rentals for season $99 These are purchased from Bristol s web site Cost with Rentals: $489 *Other possible options: d.) Discounted Parent Snowsports Pass, valid on all(13) Saturdays $315 each parent This is purchased from Bristol s web site Transportation with Covered Wagon charter bus: Departure: Busses depart the TCMS parking lot on Saturday mornings at 7:30 am sharp. We do not wait. Therefore, try to be there at 7:15 to load equipment Return to TCMS: Busses will arrive at TCMS parking lot at 4:00 pm. Parents, please arrive on time. Be considerate. Chaperones and Advisors should not be kept waiting in the \ cold. If a parent is late more than 15 minutes late any two times picking up their child late, this child will not be allowed to ride the bus anymore and a partial refund will be given.
Helmets It is MANDATORY for TCMS Ski Club participants to wear helmets. TCMS students will not even be allowed on the bus without his/her helmet. If you are a season pass holder at Bristol and he/she keeps his/her helmet in a locker @ Bristol Mt., parents must write a note to Mr. Falter explaining this situation BEFORE the 1 st ski club date. Lessons Six lessons at all levels of skiing and snowboarding ability are included in each package. ALL BEGINNERS MUST TAKE THE LESSONS! Lessons last one hour and start at 9:00am. Lunches Lunches are available at the chalets, but students are encouraged to bring their own. Refunds: Once the payments are made to bus company, no refunds. Sorry! There will be no refund given for any of the following reasons: 1. A member does not participate on the scheduled dates. 2. A member is removed for disciplinary reasons. Any student who causes difficulty of any kind, either on the bus or at the slopes, will not be allowed to go again. 3. Poor weather prevents having the six(6) scheduled trips. Rules to Follow and the Responsibility Code Parents and students must read all rules and safety procedures before participating in the club. Please see procedures and code attached. Registration Dates, Times, Procedures An informational meeting was held on October 18 for all parents of 6,7 and 8 grade students. Students may turn in a check at any time starting on October 19 to secure a seat on the bus. Ski Passes may be purchased online starting now until November 20. See below for purchasing instructions. After November 20, passes may still be purchased, but Bristol s fees increase. Every child must have his/her own medical and registration forms in order to register! A family of three student skiers must therefore fill out three separate forms. BUS REGISTRATION is done completely on a first come first served basis! See below. Lost or Stolen Equipment The Brighton Central School District as well as Bristol Mountain does not assume responsibility for the loss or damage of any equipment. The Brighton Ski/Snowboard program is the least expensive way to learn to ski and is designed for both the non-skier interested in learning and the experienced skier. HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE CLUB 3 steps! 1. PURCHASE A SEAT ON THE BUS: In order to be considered a member, a student must purchase a seat on the Ski Club bus. This luxury charter bus provides transportation to and from Bristol Mountain. This year s cost is $125. The first 50 kids to turn in this check to Mr. Falter is guaranteed a spot on a bus Every check received after the 50 th student, that student will be placed on a waitlist. If we get 25 more students to hand in checks, we will hire a second bus. If we don t, you will receive your check back and you will be responsible for your child s transportation there. Please make checks payable to TCMS Ski Club Any student that does not purchase a seat on the bus will not be considered a member of the club and the advisor, chaperones and school district is NOT responsible for this student. 2. COMPLETE MEDICAL & HELMET AGREEMENT FORM These two(2) forms must be handed in along with your check for the bus. These forms can be found below in this packet. Please print out and complete. 3. PURCHASE ONLINE A SNOWSPORTS CLUB PASS & EQUIPMENT RENTALS. A Club Pass and rentals(if needed) must purchased ONLINE through the Bristol Mountain online storefront. If you have your own equipment, you do not have to purchase rentals. THESE PASSES ARE VALID EVERY SATURDAY for the entire ski season, even when Ski Club is over! These passes, however, may not be used any other day of the week except for December 30, our first Ski Club visit to Bristol Mountain. Here are the step by step directions for purchasing a discounted pass from Bristol Mountain: a.) Logging In: Select the STORE link from the Bristol Mountain home page, www.bristolmountain.com. At the Select an Item page, select the GROUP LOGIN link on the header of the page. If the GROUP LOGIN link does not appear, please refresh your browser. At the CLUB LOGIN page, enter the Club Name and Club Member Password Our Club Name is BRIGHTONMS Our Password is the first three letters of Brighton in uppercase BRI then followed by the numbers 150. So the full password is BRI150 b.) Making a Purchase: Click on See Available Items. Select the club pass option and rentals if needed. Executive Season Pass or card holders select PASSHOLDER REGISTRATION Change Quantity if needed then hit add to cart c.) Add/Change Guest:

Uploading A Photo: YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR PASS UNLESS A PHOTO IS UPLOADED Select Upload Photo on the GUEST DETAILS page Select Choose File and select a photo from your computer that you would like to use for your Snowsports Club Pass. Once selected the file name will appear next to the Choose File button. Select Upload, after the picture is uploaded select Use This Picture. This will bring you to the GUEST PHOTO EDIT page. If you like the photo uploaded select That s Good Let s Go! g.) Liability Release Form: Students, age 19 and younger, must have a parent enter their first name, last name, and relationship to the student before accepting the terms of the release and proceeding to the next page. h.) Viewing You Cart and Finalizing Sale: On the CART CONTENTS page, a summary of your purchase is displayed showing the item, guest name, and price of the product you have selected. You will have the option to REMOVE the item ADD/CHANGE GUEST, Clear Cart and Start Over, Continue Shopping to purchase another product, or Proceed to Checkout. When you Proceed to Checkout, the next page allows you to verify your purchase as well as verify the purchaser. The purchaser will automatically populate as the most recent guest assigned to an item in the cart. All confirmation information will be sent to the information provided under CHANGE/SET PURCHASER. If you would like to change this information you are free to do so, but it is not required to finalize the sale. Once all of the information in your cart is correct, Scroll down to the PAYMENT INFORMATION section to enter your credit card information. You may pay in full with VISA, MC, DISC, or a Bristol Mountain Gift Card. You also have the option of saving or updating your credit card information to this guest record (credit card information is not stored in our database unless prompted by you). Select Finalize Sale to proceed. You will be directed to an ON LINE SALES RECEIPT, which you may print for your records. An automated purchase confirmation will be delivered to the email address associated with the account for the purchaser.

Helmet Agreement Form This form must be turned in with your bus money All participants in the TCMS Ski & Snowboard Club must wear helmets while skiing/snowboarding with The Club. Helmets are an easy way to help avoid serious injuries. If a participant is seen on any slope at Bristol Mountain without a helmet on properly, he/she will suffer the following consequences: 1.) First Offense: His/her lift ticket will be confiscated for the remainder of the day and his/her parent will be notified of the infraction. 2.) Second Offense: The student will not be allowed to participate in Ski/Snowboard Club for 2 Saturdays. Parents will be notified. 3.) Third Offense: The student will neither be allowed to participate in the Ski/Snowboard Club for the remainder of the season NOR for the following season. Also, please understand that these consequences carry over from year to year. If a participant incurs a first offense on the last trip of the season, this offense will be applied to the next season. The advisor and chaperones reserve the right to deny bus privileges to any participant without a helmet. Participants will not be allowed to board the bus on Saturday mornings without a helmet.
