Founded 1957 MSA Recognised British Motorsport Marshals Club Supplementary Regulations for the British Motorsport Marshals Club Midland Region Sprint (1) The, BMMC Ltd. will organise a National B Permit Sprint meeting on: Saturday 25th August 2018 at Curborough Sprint Course, Near Lichfield, Staffordshire. THIS IS A FIGURE OF 8 2 LAP EVENT (2) Held under the General Regulations of the Motor Sport Association Ltd, (incorporating the provisions of the international Sporting Code of the FIA), and the Supplementary Regulations. (A properly completed and signed licence application form, together with the appropriate fee, may be accepted in lieu of Competition Licence.) (6) The programme of the meeting will be: 07.30 Signing on starts 08.00 Scrutineering starts 09.00 Practice runs commence 13.30 Competitive runs commence Any competitor not signed on by 10.00 may be excluded. To aid the smoother running of our events, competitors will be allocated times to sign on, scrutineer and practice. These times will be detailed in the final instructions. (7) THE LENGTH OF THE COURSE IS 1557 YARDS AND CONSISTS OF A TARMAC SURFACE NOT LESS THAN 15 FEET WIDE WITH SEVERAL FAST CURVES AND A FIGURE OF 8 CONFIGURATION.

ALL ROADGOING CLASS ENTRANTS MUST PROVIDE DVLA PROOF OF DOCUMENTATION WHEN REQUESTED AT EVENTS. (8.1) Standard Production Cars Class SA: Class SB: Class SC: Cars up to 1400cc Cars 1401 to 1700cc Cars 1701 to 2000cc Standard Production Cars defined in the 2018 MSA Technical regulations section S11.9 and to the accompanying standard car regulations with the following amendments. Cars must be driven to the event unless by prior agreement with the organising committee. Note: 11.9.1.1 states a production run of 5000 per annum therefore kit cars performance enhanced limited edition production cars, low volume road cars, special imports, space frames and non ferrous chassis construction cars are NOT permitted in these classes and these will be placed in other classes as appropriate also note two wheel drive cars only are permitted in these classes. Class SD: 2001cc and over Cars running in class SD are defined as series production cars which must be driven to the event unless by prior agreement with the organising committee. Two wheel drive cars only are allowed in SD. NO Modifications (optional or otherwise) are allowed which are likely to improve the performance and handling of the vehicle with the following exceptions: The standard rim width and diameter must be maintained with tyres to suit. Electronic ignition may be fitted, as may heavy duty dampers, but production ride height must be maintained. The intake and exhaust system must remain as production or OEM pattern including catalyst if fitted. In the interests of safety the front seats may be replaced by a fully trimmed competition version, not just bare shell. Pyrotechnic safety devices such as airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners may be removed or disconnected. Steering wheels may be replaced with a non standard item. No other modifications except the fitting of a roll cage, and competition seatbelt harness are allowed in classes SA, SB, SC. Tyres must be defined in the 2018 MSA Technical Regulations, List 1a or as fitted by the vehicle manufacturer as original equipment. All cars running in the above classes must remain in road legal form at all times. In the event of an unresolved eligibility problem the driver of the car in question may be asked to produce a manufacturer s catalogue within four weeks of the event queried to substantiate any modification and/or specification and allow the championship points to stand. Kit cars, performance enhanced limited edition production cars, low volume road cars and special imports, spaceframed and non ferrous chassis construction cars and all 4x4 vehicles are not permitted in these classes: (for example, Lotus Elan, Rover 200 BRM, Clio Williams, Honda type R, Lotus Elise, Renault Spider) Mitsubishi Evo, and these will be placed in other classes as appropriate). Organiser's decision on a particular vehicle exclusion is final. Turbocharged Diesel Engined vehicles will be placed in their engine capacity Class without the forced induction factor being applied. Standard Production 4 / 5 Seater, Naturally Aspirated Cars up to 1.2 L and registered after August 1st 1996 SV Cars running in this class must comply with all of the regulations for class S, above with the following additions; The cars MUST be driven to the events. Only wheel rim diameters and widths, and tyre sizes that have been available on the production vehicle are permitted. Uprated shock absorbers are prohibited, only std, or replacement items are allowed. The tyres must conform to list 1A of the MSA Technical Regulations 2018, or have been fitted by the manufacturer, to the model, as production equipment. In the event of an unresolved eligibility problem the driver of the car may be asked to produce a manufacturers catalogue within four weeks of the event in question to substantiate any queried specification. (8.2) Road Going Saloons and Sports Cars Saloons & Sports cars (excluding Kit, Replicas, Space Framed and Non Ferrous chassis construction cars); Any 4 x 4 vehicle will run in their correct capacity class. Class 1A: Class 1B: Class 1C: Cars up to 1400cc Cars over 1401cc up to 2000cc Cars 2001cc and over In classes 1A,B,C tyres must conform to list 1A of the MSA Technical Regulations 2018. Road Going Kit, Replica, Space framed cars; Class 2A: Cars up to 1700cc Class 2B: Cars 1701cc and over

In classes 2A and 2B only: tyres must conform to list 1A or 1B of the MSA Technical Regulations 2018 and be of Radial type construction. Cars running in the Road Going classes must conform to the regulations for Roadgoing Series Production Cars defined in the MSA 2018 Technical Regulations section S11, with the following amendments Cars must be taxed, insured, MOT d where applicable (documents must be made available for inspection) & remain road legal at all times. Internal engine, gear ratio modifications are free. Carbon Brakes are not permitted. Manufacturers fitment. A.B.S systems may be removed. Suspension pickup points & damper location must remain std, anti roll bars may be uprated. The bonnet & bootlid may be replaced by versions in other material but all other bodywork must be of the original material. Wheelarch extensions are permitted, but the original wheelarch may not be modified. In classes 2A & 2B only, the air intake filter may protrude beyond the silhouette of the car to a maximum protrusion of 75cm. When the filter is removed the silhouette must remain as standard.in the event of an unresolved eligibility problem the driver of a car may be asked to produce a manufacturer s catalogue within four weeks of the event to substantiate any query & allow championship points to stand. Exhaust systems must be fitted with catalytic convertors if the vehicle requires one to be able to obtain an MOT for it s year of production. Road going Lotus cars up to 2200cc and Vauxhall VX220 & Opel Speedsters Class 2L: Car with engine types fitted as origional equipment by the vehicle manufacturer Cars running in this class must be taxed, MOT d (if applicable) insured, and driven to the event (documents available for inspection). Modifications are permitted to enhance the performance but cars must remain in road legal form at all times. They must be silenced to a max. noise level of 105Dba when measured at 0.5 meter from the tail pipe at a 45 0 angle at 2/3 max revs. The tyres must conform to list 1a or 1b of the MSA Technical Regulations 2018 or fitted by the manufacturer as production. In the event of an unresolved eligibility problem the driver of a car may be asked to produce a manufacturer s catalogue within four weeks of the event to substantiate any queried specification. ALL CARS RUNNING IN THE ABOVE CLASSES MUST REMAIN IN ROAD LEGAL FORM AT ALL TIMES. The following classes will be run to MSA Regulations except where otherwise specified. Rally Cars: Section R, and section S10.10.6 R R2 2 wheel drive cars R4 4 wheel drive cars All cars in class R must comply with 2018 MSA year book technical regulations (R) for Rally Cars. (8.3) Modified Production Cars; Section S12 Modified Production Cars (excluding Kit, Space framed and Non ferrous chassis construction cars); Class 3A: Class 3B: Class 3C: Cars up to 1400cc Cars 1401cc to 2000cc Cars 2001cc and over Modified Kit, Space Framed and Replica Cars Class 4A: Class 4B: Cars up to 1800cc Cars over 1800cc Sports Libre & Hillclimb Super Sports Cars Section S13 & S14 Class 6A: Class 6B: Sports Libre cars up to 1700cc & Hillclimb Supersports cars Sports Libre cars over 1700cc Racing Cars Section S15 Class 7A: Class 7B: Class 7C: Class 7D: <600cc 601 to 1100cc Formula Ford 1600 Kent Engined Racing Cars 1101 to 1600cc

Class 7E: 1601 to 2000cc Class 7F: 2001cc and Over Note: 7C Formula Ford Cars, as per MSA Regulations tyres must be Avon ACB10, (note; cars manufactured before December 1971 may use ACB9). Period defined vehicles (Vehicles registered before 31/12/1983). Class 8A: Road going production vehicles Class 8B: Racing cars (to section S5, S6, or S7) All Cars in Class 8 must comply with MSA yearbook definition of Peroid Defined Vehicles, Classes A to E and must comply with (S) 10.10. Cars registered from 1962 up to 31.12.83 may be permitted in 8a and must comply with (S) 10.10.1. All Cars in Class 8b must comply with (S) 10.10.3, 10.10.4, 10.10.5, 10.10.6 or 10.10.7. Cars entered in Classes 8a will not be allowed to run on tyres on list 1b of the MSA Technical Regulations 2018. Cars in 8A may not replace glass with other materials. Class 9 A class for the members of the Lotus 7 Club GB. Regulations as per Lotus 7 Club Championship regulations. Eligible Vehicles All cars must be of the type known as Lotus 7 or Caterham 7 and will be placed in classes between 9.1 to 9.7 as defined in Championship Regulations. All Lotus Seven and Caterham Sevens must comply with Sprints, Hillclimbs and Drag racing (S) and competitors safety (K) sections of the 2017 MSA Technical Regulations. All cars must be fitted with a safety roll over structure comps safety (K) 2018 MSA Tech Regs. Competitors are advised that the standard roll over bar as supplied by Caterham does not meet these requirements. Any car fitted with the standard roll over bar that arrives at an event will NOT be allowed to compete. All cars must be fitted with an operational reverse gear. Westfield Sports Car Speed Championship All cars will run in the above classes as per the event regulations and all results will be passed to the relevant party to award championship points. Otherwise run as Championship regulations. Porsche Club Petro-Canada Lubricants Speed Championship with Pirelli Members of the Porsche Club GB Sprint Championship will be put into their respective classes as per the Championship Regulations. Safety Requirements All classes will comply with sections S & K of the 2018 MSA Competitors year book and individual class regulations as detailed above. All cars must comply with the MSA Regs regarding silencing for Sprint and Hillclimb unless specificaly limited. Above equivalence factors are as per section S10 with the addition of Diesel engines capacity x 0.714. IMPORTANT - ALL CARS COMPETING IN HILLCLIMBS OR SPRINTS MUST HAVE A VALID MSA LOGBOOK UNLESS THE CAR IS CURRENTLY LICENSED FOR THE ROAD AND COMPETING ON THE EVENT IN A ROAD LEGAL CONDITION. (9) Awards will be presented as follows: Fastest time of the day Fastest time of the day by a lady driver First in each class Second in each class Third in each class Fastest time by a BMMC member Novice Driver Best prepared car An award An award (Subject to 2 starters) An award (Subject to 3 starters) An award (Subject to 4 starters) An award (Subject to 6 starters) An award (Subject to 2 starters) An award (In 1st year of competing) An award

All awards must be collected on the day. (10) The entry list opens on publication of these regulations and closes finally on Friday August 17th 2018, any queries contact Steve Hill on 07710 131130 The closing date will be brought forward if a full entry is received. If a full entry is received we will hold a reserve entry list on a 1st come 1st served basis. The entry fee is 100.00 and for BMMC members 80.00 NO CHEQUES WILL BE CASHED UNTIL FRIDAY 17TH OF AUGUST 2018 All entries must be made on the official entry form and accompanied by the appropriate fee. The minimum is 40. Should the above minimum figure not be reached, the organisers have the right to cancel the meeting. (13) Entries will be selected in order of receipt. Post-dated cheques and incomplete entry forms will not be accepted. Entry fees may be refunded if the competitor notifies the Secretary of the meeting in writing. There will be a 10 administration fee deduction. (14) A change of nominated driver by an entrant will be accepted, but a change of driver and vehicle will be classed as a cancellation. (15) Shared Cars: The onus is on the competitor to ensure that both entry forms are received before the closing dates for entries or before the entry list is full. Unless first/second drivers are clearly identified on the entry form, the organisers will nominate the first driver. Smith Darlington & District Motor Club Curborough Recovery (17) Provisional results will be published as soon as possible after the end of the event. (18) Any protest must be lodged in accordance with section C. 5.1-5.7 of the 2018 MSA Yearbook. (19) Starting order will be determined by the organisers. Cars will start singly. The starting signal will be a green light. The method of timing will be from a light ray at the start to a light ray at the finish. The finish line will be indicated by a chequered board and a white line. A timing strut in accordance with S.10.9 is required. Tyre warming by the spinning of wheels will only be permitted in the marked area near the startline. (20) Competitors will have the opportunity of two practice runs and at least two competitive runs, with all competitive runs to count. Competitors should walk the course and must be clear of the course before 09.00. (21) Competitors will be identified by numbers, which will not be provided by the organisers. (22) MARKING AND PENALTIES: All four wheels across the white line at the edge of the track:- no time will be recorded, and competitors must not move until directed to do so by an official. Any competitor dislodging the 1st cone to the left of the entry to

the flagpole hairpin will incur a 1 second penalty. Any competitor dislodging either of the first or second cones on the entry to the crossover on the drivers left will incur a 1 second penalty. (23) All other regulations of the MSA apply as written, except the following which are modified: A driver may only drive one car at each event. (24) Judges of fact will be the course controller, chief startline and IC at posts 2 and 3. Officials names will be posted on the notice board. Judges will be appointed to adjudicate - not following the correct course or touching markers. (25) All drivers must wear an approved crash helmet with the correct MSA approval label, goggles and overalls at least to the minimum standard required in section (K. 9.1 to K11.3. Please note that all cars competing in Hillclimbs or Sprints must be presented for scrutineering with a vaild MSA Log Book or MSA Recognised Vehicle Identity Document unless the car is currently licensed for use on public highway and competing on the event in a road legal condition.
