Local Events/activities to be organised by EL Members during the European Week of Sport (28.07.2015) COUNTRY LOTTERY EVENTS/ACTIVITIES TO BE ORGANISED FINLAND VEIKKAUS OY In Finland, the Finnish Lottery, Veikkaus OY, will organise the "Ilon viikko" ("A Week of Joy") in the City of Jyväskylä as one of the main events of Veikkaus 75 Years Celebrations. Elements of the event: Jyväskylä is an active university town where a wide range of cultural events, sports, youth work, and science take place. Jyväskylä is a medium-size Finnish town (135 000 inhabitants) situated in Middle Finland. Jyväskylä acts as a benchmarking case for the rest of Finland. Veikkaus' beneficiaries including sports and sports science organisations will be presenting their activities and arranging interesting experiences and activities to people. Organizations to present their activities will include the Kunnossa Kaiken Ikää (Fit for Life) project, and the Finnish Society of Sport Sciences C'mon Everybody theme day - 5 September on Jyväskylä promenade: The theme day will offer people a chance to engage in various activities, including a dance event on the market square, fitness tests, and a parkour course. Altogether, at least 30 Veikkaus'
beneficiaries will be represented in Jyväskylä POLAND TOTALIZATOR In Poland, the Polish Lottery, TOTALIZATOR, shall support national partners in organizing the annual sport event dedicated to the late Polish Olympic champion in hammer throw, Kamila Skolimowska (LOTTO Kamila Skolimowska Memorial) in connection to the EWoS in September 2015. CZECH REPUBLIC SAZKA In Czech Republic, the Czech Lottery, SAZKA, in cooperation with the Czech Olympic Committee will organise its Sazka Olympic combined events during the European Week of Sport, giving young people around the country the possibility to perform in 8 different sport disciplines. GREECE OPAP SA In Greece, the Greek Lottery, OPAP SA, is planning to promote participation in physical activity and PORTUGAL Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa sport during the European Week of Sport by organising special events and activities in its 125 grassroots football academies across the country. In Portugal, the Portuguese Lottery, Santa Casa, will sponsor a very popular and typical short bicycle run, called Climbing up to the Glory. The event will take place in the center of Lisbon and is planned for September 12. The event is expected to attract around 300 participants. SPAIN ONCE In Spain, the Spanish Lottery, ONCE, will support the events organised by the Spanish Sports Council and the Spanish Paralympic Committee with a focus on the promotion of disability sport HUNGARY SZERENCSEJATEK In Hungary, the Hungarian Lottery, Szerencsejatek, is planning to organise in cooperation with local sport clubs a large-scale series of events in order to inspire citizens across Hungary to get physically active. ITALY LOTTOMATICA In Italy, the Italian Lottery, Lottomatica, in cooperation with the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) are planning to organise special activities and events during the European Week of Sport as
part of their joint project Vincere da grandi. The project Vincere da grandi seeks to promote physical activity among children (aged 5-14 years old) living close to 4 big Italian cities (Rome, Milan, Napoli, Palermo). BULGARIA Eurofootball In Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Lottery, Eurofootball, is planning the organisation of an amateur Football tournament in Sofia. There is a possibility of including young athletes and athletes of all abilities (to be confirmed) LITHUANIA Olifeja In Lithuania, our Member, Olifeja, will sponsor the Vilnius Marathon, which is taking place on September 13 and is the biggest running event in Lithuania. It will be connected to the #BEACTIVE campaign. More than 20,000 runners are expected to take part. More info can be found here: http://www.vilniausmaratonas.lt/en/maratonas NORWAY Norsk Tipping In Norway, our Member, Norsk Tipping, in cooperation with The Norwegian Trekking Association, about a nationwide event to get more people into physical activity outdoors. For practical reasons, the event is held on Sunday, September 6th, which is the day before the European Week of Sport formally starts. The event will contain some 130 local events across the country, focusing on different activities like canoeing, glacier hiking, kiting, and much more. There will be activities for both adults and children, and one expects more than 40,000 participants at a national level. In Norway, this year is also The Great Outdoor Year, therefore the outdoor activities have a major focus this summer and fall. MALTA Maltco In Malta, our Member, MALTCO, in close cooperation with Malta Sports Council (KMS), shall organise on 8 September an Indoor Rowing event. The teams will be formed by employees from different Maltese companies. There will be a participation fee for each team, which will be
afterwards allocated to good causes. Notes: De Lotto (the Netherlands): as they have just been part of another sport project in cooperation with the Dutch Olympic Committee, this year they will not participate in the EWoS (just to avoid duplication) but they will be actively participating from 2016 onwards. Communication Activities & Other Ways of Promotion Indicative List: Austria Austrian Lotteries: Austrian Lotteries shall team with the Austrian Radio and TV to promote physical activity among Austrian citizens. The plan is that every day during the week, Austrian Lotteries will call for more physical activity and will pay for the membership subscription of the first 100 people, that will join a sport club. Croatia Lutrija will be promoting the initiative through press releases, social media posts etc. Germany - Lotto-Toto GmbH Sachsen-Anhalt: Creation of posters that will be placed in the stair-case and in front of their elevator. These posters shall inform about Facts on Fitness, e. g. how many calories can be burnt by using stairs instead of the elevator. In this way they will motivate their staff and visitors to use stairs. Germany - Lotto-Bayern: Promotion through articles, homepage and posters in the outlets. Spain SELAE: SELAE has already uploaded to our website loteriasyapuestas.es as well as to their corporative one selae.es the EWoS banners. They are also planning to include a report in their TV show and magazine, send tweets/post supporting the campaign during the European Week of Sport. Malta-Maltco: A banner will be prepared for the website, the facebook page and the outlets across Malta. Italy SISAL: SISAL is planning to promote the initiative through its communication platforms, including social media and outlets. Portugal - Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa:
- raising awareness through a banner in the website - video about the advantages of physical activity will be played in the outlets of Santa Casa - use of the #BeActive logo in the institutional emails
