DANCE ATTIRE The instructors and Lisa have discussed this at great lengths, and request for all the dancers to adhere to the attire guidelines. The attire is set for the fact that we are a Dance Academy and we all feel that to be a dancer you need to look like a dancer. All dancers must have the correct and required attire no later than October 8 th, please. The dance attire for some of the studio classes is very inappropriate. Please dancers we ask for your respect, courtesy to the instructors and your peers and dress appropriately for your classes. T-shirts/loose fitting tank tops and street clothes in general are not the dress code for ANY of our classes. Jeans are NOT acceptable in any of the dance classes. Dance Shorts MUST be long enough to cover the dancers posterior area. Please ensure your LuLu Lemon shorts are at least 3 in the inseam, or they will not be allowed to be worn in class. Dancers please follow the dress code of the studio and wear the correct dance attire even if you do not like the attire. Please also try not to question your instructors when they ask you to adhere to the studio policies. Parents we are asking for your help in encouraging and reviewing the correct attire with dancers of all ages. All information about each classes attire is posted online in our studio handbook. If you have any questions or concerns, please inquire at the office or speak with your child s instructor. Hair is to be up in ALL classes including Hip-Hop. PRE-SCHOOL DANCE & ALL BALLET CLASS ATTIRE NOTES: Tights should be Ballerina Pink for all Ballet classes and CANNOT be rolled up to the knee, but must be placed into the dancers shoes. Hair (if long enough) must be in a CORRECT BUN. Messy buns will not be permitted. Pre-School dancers should also have their hair up and get used to the Ballet Bun, as it is mostly used for our performances etc If you are unsure on how to do a bun your child s instructor will be more than happy to assist you and show you how. Students in Ballet Level One and up should have their Character shoes and skirts to use in class. This attire is part of the R.A.D. curriculum. If you have any questions in regards to this, please speak with Debbie Black, check your handbook or ask our office staff, for the information you need. We do have information on a seamstress you may contact to sew your dancers Character skirt, check the bulletin board in the front lobby for more information.

REGISTRATION FOR OUR FALL CLASSES Registration is still on going in all of our dance classes. We will continue registering until approx. October, for our 10 Month programs, if and where there is space available. If you know anyone looking for dance classes, please send them our way!! NEWSLETTERS Newsletters are an essential part of our Dance Academy. It is the best way for us to communicate with parents, families and dancers. We know life is very hectic, but we ask all parents to LOG ONTO THE WEBSITE AND read the MONTHLY and any other information that may pertain to your dancer!! The website and all our documents posted under news and announcements have important information in regards to our studio, events that are happening at the Academy, Holidays and all other important information. We also always POST information at the academy, so Parents please take a few moments to come into the studio at least once a month, stay updated and read the Bulletin Boards and Posters. If you have any questions please ask at the studio office, and they will assist you or direct you to the website where the info is posted as well. ATTENDANCE Attendance in classes is essential so that the students do not fall behind. If your child is absent due to illness, please call the studio office and inform us of your child s absence. Please we do ask that you call rather than email. Then emails are not always checked daily, however our voicemail is. All dancers absences are posted on the door to the studio office for easier access to the instructors. If you have a date where you know your child will be away please come in and fill out the information and post it for your dancers instructor(s). Dancers, your parents work very hard to get you into these dance classes, please do not abuse your time and not attend your dance classes remember this is suppose to be somewhere you want to be!

RECITAL INFORMATION Stay tuned for the RECITAL newsletter coming out sometime in November, reply is due back PRIOR to the Christmas Break. Be sure to read all the information online we will email everyone when the time comes for the information you should be reading. We also post the information in the lobby, so please come into the studio as important information is always available there as well as online. Please note we have 2 recital showcases due to size and length of the shows. We will email you which show(s) your child will participate in (Recital A or Recital B ) and that is the information you should be reading more info to follow in NOVEMBER. Consent/Registration Forms are handed out in class. We do our best to ensure all dancers get a copy of the RECITAL Consent and newsletter but it is not always get home please be sure to COME IN the studio to read the bulletin boards for the up to date dance/studio info. You can also ask at the office for a copy of the consent/registration form for Recital. Parents, we ask that YOU stay informed, and by any means ASK if you are unsure if you have missed something. DROPPING OFF AND PICKING UP OF DANCERS Parents we ask that if your child is in the last class of the evening or Saturdays that you are PROMPT when you pick them up. The staff will wait for them to be to be picked up prior to locking the studio up, but we do ask that you respect their time and be a few minutes early to retrieve your dancer. The doors are usually locked after the last class begins, and will open at the end of the night. This ensures the safety of all of the dancers and faculty in the building. Teachers have worked long hours please be sure to pick up dancers for the end of the night on time so our staff can go home on time as well. When classes are in session we ask that ALL dancers and their siblings respect the learning environment and DO NOT RUN up and down the Hallways, or talk loudly outside the dance studio doors, or wander back and forth between the classrooms and the lobby. It is very distracting to the dancers, teaching faculty and to the office staff. We kindly ask that if dancers are waiting for classes to begin or you and your other for a sibling to take a class that they find a quiet activity to do. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

We look forward to another amazing and successful dance term for 2012 2013 and we are thrilled to have all of you as part of our PDA dance family. Have an amazing dance season everyone. Work hard in your classes, and do what it is we love to do best. DANCE!!! HEAR THE MUSIC AND DANCE!
