GwynneSpeed Rally Challenge CHAMPIONSHIP REGULATIONS 1. Announcement, Title & Jurisdiction: 1.1 Forest of Dean Motor Club will organise a single make rally championship for Citroen C2 VTR and Citroen C2 GT stage rally cars throughout 2014 running alongside specific National B stage rallies known as the GwynneSpeed Rally Challenge. 1.2 The championship will be held under: - The general and technical regulations of the Motor Sports Association. - These championship regulations. - The supplementary regulations as issued for each of the qualifying rounds. - Any bulletins or additional regulations as issued by the championship organisers or the organisers of each qualifying round. 2. Eligibility: 4.1 The championship is open to drivers holding a minimum of National B Stage Rally Licence and co-drivers holding a licence entitling them to compete on National B Stage Rally. 4.2 Driver and co-driver must be members of a motor club which is affiliated to the organising club of each qualifying round. 4.3 All vehicles used in the championship by registered crews must conform to MSA technical regulations as well as to the vehicle technical specification as detailed in these regulations (see Section 10.). 4.4 To score points, competitors must ensure that their vehicle is displaying the appropriate sponsors and championship decals as detailed below. Failure to do so will result in the competitors scoring 0 points for each and every qualifying round that they fail to display the decals correctly. 1. 4. PIAA decals underneath the championship decal under each door mirror 5. KUMHO decal on the front and rear bumpers 4.5 To score points, competitors must have registered for the championship and paid the appropriate fee. Upon successful registration, the driver and co-driver will be issued with a Championship Registration Card which will need to be produced at each qualifying event. 4.6 Registration opens on publication of these regulations and the closing date for competitor registrations is at the start of the fourth round. 5. Championship registrations: 5.1 To score points for the championship, the driver and the co-driver must have completed an official championship registration form and paid the appropriate fee. 5.2 Upon successful registration, the registered driver and co-driver will receive a Championship Registration Card which must be presented at each qualifying round to be eligible to score points. 5.3 2014 Championship registration fees are as follows: Driver - 35 +VAT Co-driver - 30 +VAT Payment can be made via cheque made payable to GwynneSpeed Rallying. Points & scoring: 6.1 Points will be allocated to the highest placed driver and co-driver in overall finish classification as follows: Highest place = 20 points Second highest = 18 points Third highest = 16 points Fourth highest = 15 points And so on deleting one point per placing down to one single point for all finishers. 6.2 Non-starts and non-finishes will count as zero scores. In the event of a competitor entering the trophy rally of a qualifying round, should the organising club run one, the competitor will still be deemed as a non-finisher and will score zero points accordingly. 6.3 Competitors best 5 scores will count towards the final championship awards. 6.4 In accordance with MSA ruling C3.5.3, competitors awarded a zero score as a result of ineligibility or non-compliance of 4.3 of these regulations will not be able to use this score as one of their dropped scores. 6.5 In the event of a tie, the competitors who scored the highest points at the earliest point of the championship will take the award. 6.6 Points scored on the last 2 rounds will be multiplied by 2. 6.7 Competitors will receive 20 bonus points at the end of the championship if they enter every round, they will score 15 bonus points at the end of the championship if they enter 6 of the rounds and they will score 10 bonus points if they enter 5 of the rounds. 6.8 Final results will be announced via email after each round.

7. Awards 7.1 On each qualifying round, there will be a prize draw into which every team (driver and codriver) who start that qualifying round will be entered. The draw will be made at the end of the event and the winner will be announced at the rally awards presentation and/or via email afterwards. 7.2 The prize draw awards on each qualifying round will be: Round Prize Round 1 Set of gravel or tarmac tyres Round 2 A Gripper Limited Slip Differential Round 3 A Clubman s Rally Package to the Rallyday Show in 2014 Round 4 Set of rear AST dampers Round 5 Testing/tuition session with car set up advice from Andy Gwynne Round 6 100 fuel or oil voucher Round 7 4 free tickets to the end of year championship awards party 7.3 Overall winners of the championship (scoring the highest number of points after the 7 th round) will receive a sponsored entry into the 2015 Wyedean Rally and a 500 product voucher from PIAA UK. 7.4 Championship runners up (scoring the 2 nd highest number of points after the 7 th round) will receive complimentary registration into the 2015 GwynneSpeed Rally Challenge. 7.5 The team (driver and co-driver) who has, in the championship organiser s opinion, promoted themselves most proactively throughout the championship by way of press releases and other media will receive the opportunity to work with a professional DVD promotion film crew to create a promotional DVD to promote their rally team to potential sponsors. Promo DVD footage to be obtained at GwynneSpeed Rally School on a date to suit all parties. 7.6 Competitors who are awarded as overall winners or runners up in the championship will not be eligible to win the media (Section 8.5) award. 8. Penalties 8.1 Any competitor, whose vehicle is found to be ineligible as a result of a formal protest procedure as detailed in section 11 of these championship regulations, will lose any points scored on the previous round. Should this happen on Round 1, they will not score any points on that round and will be required to make the car eligible and have it checked by the eligibility scrutineer before being able to score points again. The competitor will be liable for all costs. 8.2 Any competitor whose vehicle starts a qualifying round without their engine sealed as detailed in section 10 of these championship regulations, will lose any points scored on the previous round. Should this happen on Round 1, they will not score any points on that round and will be required to make the car eligible and have it checked by the eligibility scrutineer before being able to score points again. The competitor will be liable for all costs. 8.3 Any competitor failing to display the championship/sponsors decals as detailed in section 4 of these championship regulations will result in the competitor scoring 0 points for each and every qualifying round that they fail to display the decals correctly. 8.4 Any competitor who is deemed by a championship steward to have acted in a manner which negatively portrays the championship will lose 20 championship points.

Full dates and details of these will be released at the start of the season. 10. Vehicle technical regulations and specifications: For the purpose of these regulations, the word standard will be defined as, A part manufactured to the original specification visually and mechanically identical to that produced by Citroen when the vehicle was manufactured. Parts can only be used as standard parts if, in the organisers opinion, they don't cause an increase in the vehicle s performance no matter how slight. 10.1 PERMITTED VEHICLE: 10.1.1 The only types of vehicle permitted to be used in this championship are a Citroen C2 VTR or Citroen C2 GT using the 1.6L 16V engine and 5-speed gearbox. The Citroen C2 VTS is not allowed. 10.1.2 All vehicles used for the championship must comply with MSA Technical Regulations for Rally Cars. 10.1.3 The vehicle s wheel track must remain as per the manufacturer s figure. 10.1.4 The vehicle s weight must be as per the MSA Technical Regulations for 1600cc vehicles; all vehicles will be weighed at the end of each qualifying round using corner weight scales. 10.2 ENGINE: 10.2.1 Standard engines and engine components must be used with no modifications. 10.2.2 25 thousandths of one inch may be removed from the cylinder head face. The block may not be machined. 10.2.3 ECU s and ECU internals must remain standard (Only C2 VTR or GT ECU s are permitted; C2 VTS ECU s are not permitted). Piggy back ECU s are not permitted. 10.2.4 Throttle body, injectors and fuel rail must remain standard. 10.2.5 Air filters are free. 10.2.6 Exhaust manifold must remain standard.

10.2.7 The exhaust system from the down pipe is free. 10.2.8 Catalytic converters must be fitted. 10.2.9 Engine mounts are free. 10.2.10 Vehicles must be fitted with a dry coupling fuel sampling valve as per the MSA Technical Regulations. 10.2.11 Only standard pump fuel is permitted. 10.3 GEARBOX & TRANSMISSION: 10.3.1 4 models of synchro engagement type gearboxes are permitted as detailed below: - Sensodrive MA - GT MA - VTS MA - BE3/BE4 10.3.2 Sequential cable changes for manual gearboxes are not permitted. 10.3.3 Limited slip differentials are free. 10.3.4 Drive shafts are free. 10.3.5 Gearbox mounts are free. 10.3.6 Final drives are free. 10.3.7 Standard Peugeot or Citroen gears must be used. 10.4 SUSPENSION: 10.4.1 Strut assemblies are free. 10.4.2 Strut top mounting points must remain in the standard location. 10.4.3 Maximum of single way adjustable front dampers are permitted. 10.4.4 Maximum of single way adjustable rear dampers are permitted. 10.4.5 Remote canister suspension is not permitted. 10.4.6 Springs rates are free. 10.4.7 Rear coil covers are not permitted 10.4.8 Ride heights are free. 10.4.9 Bottom arms/wishbones must remain standard, however bushes can be upgraded. 10.4.10 The sub-frame may be seam welded but the mounting holes and mounting points must not be altered. 10.5 BRAKES: 10.5.1 Front and rear brake calipers must remain standard. 10.5.2 Pedal box must remain standard. 10.5.3 Competition or standard brake pads may be used. Carbon materials are not permitted. 10.5.4 Brake bias valves may be fitted. 10.5.5 Hydraulic handbrakes are permitted in addition to the standard, mechanically operated cable handbrake. 10.6 WHEELS & TYRES: 10.6.1 Wheel spacers are not permitted. 10.6.2 There will be a control tyre which will be KUMHO competition tyres. The sizes, patterns and compounds which will be permitted are: 175/65R14 R800 gravel tyre left and right, in medium compound. 170/600R16 CO3, slick tarmac tyre available in medium compound which may be cut to a wet pattern. Competitors are responsible for ordering their tyres directly from KUMHO by contacting Julie Middleton on 01746 764434. 10.7 COMPONENT SEALING: 10.7.1 In order to ensure fair play, each vehicle will be required to attend a rolling road test and subsequently have their engine sealed. Prior to attending the rolling road test, competitors will be required to drill their engine bolts as per the picture below to facilitate the seal:

10.7.2 Any vehicle starting a qualifying round of the championship with an unsealed engine will be deemed as contravening 4.3 and will be penalised in accordance with Section 8 of these regulations. 10.7.3 The registered rolling road which will be authorised to carry out the rolling road test and component sealing will be: Powerstation, Northway Trading Est, Northway Lane, Tewkesbury, Glos. GL20 8JH Tel: 01684 296675 Email: sales@powerstation.org.uk 10.7.4 Competitors will be responsible for booking their rolling road test directly with Powerstation and paying the fee of 45 +VAT to them directly. 11. Protests & complaints procedure: 11.1 Should any competitor have a complaint at any point throughout the championship, they must put the complaint in writing addressed to the championship co-ordinator who will lodge the complaint and will pass your complaint to a championship steward for investigation. 11.2 Should any competitor suspect unfair play of any kind, they must put their complaint in writing addressed to the championship manager at the championship office who will acknowledge your complaint and will pass your complaint to a championship steward for investigation. 11.3 Any competitor wishing to protest another competitor s vehicle on grounds of ineligibility will be required to pay a 200 protest fee which will be refunded should the protest prove correct. 12. Promotion, publicity & media: 12.1 By taking part in the championship, registered competitors agree to allow the organisers to use any photos or video footage of their vehicles for promotional purposes. 12.2 Competitors are encouraged to actively promote their team competing in the championship and, as organisers, we will display any press releases you send to us. There will be an award, as detailed in section 7 of these championship regulations, for the team who has been the most proactive throughout the championship in promoting their team. 12.3 By competing in the championship, all registered competitors agree to act in a manner which reflects positively on the championship as a whole. Any disrespectful or negative behaviour towards other competitors or championship officials will be penalised as per section 8 of these championship regulations.
