The 2015 New Mexico State Fair Talk About a Great Fair There is a lot to see and do at this year s State Fair. Just walk out the south door of the Horse Arena and go for it! We have a completely new Carnival this year Reithoffer Carnival will be providing everything in the Midway this year. In addition to fun exciting rides, games, and food - Reithoffer will be unveiling a brand new rollercoaster here at our State Fair. As if a new carnival wasn t enough, we are also featuring the Olate Dogs, winners of Season 7 Americas Got Talent and Sea Lion Encounters - an interactive, educational exhibit staring 4 rescued sea lions. There will be magic shows, game shows, barrel racing dogs, pig races, a Kraze Maze, the Street Drum Corp and so much more. The Rock It Up Zip Line and the Sling Shot Thrill Ride will both be back this year. If none of that appeals to you, at least take a walk down Main Street to Asbury Pies you can never go wrong with a delicious piece of pie from Asbury Pies. As for the Horse Shows, this will be the 2 nd year Dauane Elkins Excel Associates will be managing the New Mexico State Fair Horse Shows. We know under Dauane s management the Horse Shows will be well run. Dave Branham will be back as our Announcer this year. We received lots of compliments on Dave last year. AND, Gabe Garcia, everybody s favorite Stall Manager, will also be back. Dauane has put together a great list of classes and hired excellent Judges and Staff for each Horse Show. We hope you will come to the 2015 NMSF Horse Shows and go see the rest of the New Mexico State Fair too. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Premium Payback Schedule Mule and Donkey Show Rosettes: 1 st Place through 6 th Place all classes Prize Money: 1 st Place through 6 th Place in classes with 3 or more horses being shown. Someone new to Horse Shows might appreciate a little clarification on a few things. It has taken me 3 years to figure out that Paybacks Premiums and Prize Money are all the same thing!! If this section helps even one person with that one, then it was worth writing. I m very happy that we have Dauane Elkins and his outstanding staff now to manage our Horse Shows. My learning curve won t slow us down anymore. Thank you for your patience these last few years as we have worked to rebuild our NMSF Horse Shows on a stronger foundation for a brighter future.
