PARENT INFORMATION The Little Mermaid Please check the rehearsal schedule. The schedule has the following information; date, time, who is called, what will be rehearsed that day. What to do if you have a question? karie-lee.music@hotmail.com We re happy to answer any question! The Attendance Policy Your child may have one non-scheduled absence from rehearsal. Any additional absence will result in dismissal from the show. Another child will be moved into the role. No refund of the production fee will be given. Please remember that your child is responsible for all material covered during a missed rehearsal. If they come into the following rehearsal without having gone over the material, they can be removed from their role. Email Updates We will be sending out weekly updates, usually on Wednesday. Please check your email! This will be the way we will communicate with you. If the University closes due to weather, we will not have rehearsal. We will send out an email to notify you of any cancellation. A few reminders We will always start on time and end on time, please be prompt in dropping off and picking up your child All rehearsals are closed rehearsals (no parents, family, or friends are allowed in the rehearsal room at any time without prior permission from the directors) Please do not contact the Main CCM Prep office concerning questions about rehearsals or performances. All communication must go through karie-lee.music@hotmail.com. You must contact Karie-Lee Sutherland directly concerning all questions about this project.
Snacks & What You will need to bring We will give the students a short snack break. Because we have several students with severe allergies the following are the ONLY snacks allowed. (If your child has brought their lunch they must dispose of it before entering the rehearsal room.) They may not purchase items from the vending machines during the rehearsals. bottle of water (with child s name on it) fresh fruit pretzels Please bring to each rehearsal: script a spiral notebook for taking notes two pencils shoes that you can dance in Leave at home: Toys and Games Money and Valuables Cell phones must be kept in your bags and on silent during rehearsals! Lunch Bunch Opportunities For those students who have a break between earlier CCM Prep classes and rehearsal time, a Parent Volunteer will be available to escort cast members to and from Tangeman University Center and monitor them for a lunch period. Cast members may either bring a packed lunch, or may purchase lunch at the University Center. Please send money for those who plan to purchase; this lunch is not provided by CCM Prep. Drop-off Procedure: Prior to each rehearsal we will meet in the lobby of the Patricia Corbett Theater to take attendance. Please remember to sign in & out at each rehearsal. Please do not meet in this lobby before 12:30: as there will be no supervision prior to this time. Cast members who already are at CCM for classes must also come up to the lobby to sign in & wait with the parent volunteers. (Again, not before 12:30) Please, no eating or drinking in the lobby. There is much traffic through this lobby. It is essential that the cast waits in a calm, orderly fashion. Please, no running, roughhousing, loud voices, etc. If a cast member has any notes, papers, forms, etc. to turn in, they should be given to the parent volunteer supervising the sign in.
Pick-up Procedure: Dismissal & sign-out also will be done from the lobby of Corbett theater. Car access is from Corbett Drive, off of Calhoun Street. DO NOT PULL INTO CORBETT CIRCLE PRIOR TO 4:25!! If we begin getting a back-up on Corbett Drive, University officials have asked us to stop rehearsal immediately and begin dismissal procedures. (Because we have limited rehearsal time, we do not like to do this. We need every minute!) Pull into the circle and one of our parent volunteers will relay the name(s) of child(ren) you are picking up into the parents monitoring sign-out. Their names are called inside and they are sent to their waiting cars. The children are not allowed to leave until it's certain that their ride is waiting outside. Please do not pull into Corbett Circle & leave your car. This creates a bottleneck & stops movement in the pick up line. Some parents elect to park elsewhere & walkin to pick up their child(ren). If you do this, PLEASE make certain that you have signed your child(ren) out with the student assistants or parent volunteer in Corbett Theater lobby. We need to know that all cast members are accounted for upon dismissal. Once established, this system can work efficiently. Thank you so much for your help and patience. It is our intention that the children have a great experience and are safe & well supervised at all times. Parent Volunteers We will need parents to help with sign-in/sign-out, ushering, basket raffles, patron lines and Lunch Bunch. Please be sure to sign up if you can help with any of these areas.
