Minutes of the September 14, 2015 Bakersfield Car Club Council meeting Meeting was called to order by co-chairs Chris Addington and Lugnut Larry Thomas at 6:30pm. Introductions: Intro of clubs Guests: --Beth Cheatwood/Loco Banditos & 3 rd Race Against Cancer Car Show, Sat., Nov. 7 at Rainman s Hobby (4615 Grissom Street). Beth was at this meeting to pass out flyers and talk about this year s event. Car Show starts at 10am. This year they will have more parking available. Homemade Biscuits & Gravy in the morning, sandwiches for lunch. Event will also have a raffle and there will be RC racers in from all over CA competing inside at Rainman s Hobby. It just came out of paint. Finish date is Oct. 3 rd. Went to Vintage Racing Assoc. events (Buttonwillow & Willow Springs). --Kern Co. Air Kooled VWs Just did the Wasco Rose Parade this was their third year to participate in this event. They beat the tractor. Went to a VW show in Ventura (Treffen), met in Ventura and did the show there. --America s Finest Lost some members recently, car stolen. Doing Oktoberfest in Tehachapi coming up. Monthly Cars & Coffee at Kohl s last Saturday of each month. Test & Tune at Famoso. --Outlawz working on flyer for December 5 th Toy Run with GEM car show. They are a small club with 12 families. 100% of what they get at their annual Toy Run goes to KMC. Met their goals with toys, for Christmas so now toys are lasting year round and they are also able to donate to ER. Any funds their Toy Run raises is put into gift cards for fuel cards to help families with travel cost to deliver babies and part of Ronald McDonald House. KMC will be at their Toy Run this December giving out flu shots. Outlawz Car Club is one of the Top 20 donors for KMC! --Tehachapi Car Club Their website is up and they have opened up a classified section to everyone. Thunder on the Mountain goes to local organizations. This year they were able to give $22,500 to the community. --Studebaker Drivers Club Now on Facebook Studebaker Club --DJ Leroy Kelly Just did a car show for Gary in Shafter. Getting ready for the Super Cruise in Feb. --Mopars of Bakersfield Ronald McDonald club charity. Had a breakfast cruise to Apple Shed in Tehachapi, had a summer BBQ, were out at First Responders show at the Crest, and were out at Kern Co. Raceway Park and did a Ronald McDonald burnout & laps around the track at a recent race. --OFCC Bobby Socks & Blue Jeans Car Show back in June and proceeds benefitted Kern Co. Honor Flight, Wasco High School Scholarships and K.C. Cancer. --British Car Club 30 th year anniversary. Buttonwillow British Extravaganza. --Classic Chev. Bishop Car Show coming up 1 st of Nov., 6 th Honor Flight, and Barrett Jackson Auction in Vegas. --Scikotics lost a car to accident the other day and she didn t have the car 30 days, hadn t even made first payment! All Chapter Meet, BBQ at Standard Park. Going with America s Finest to Redlands to take supplies to fire victims Sat., Sept. 19. --Vintage Ltd. getting ready for annual car show to benefit K.C. Museum. Museum has changed management. Ken Kisor doing a Honor Flight benefit in Glennville, and they have a group going to Bishop for the Fall Colors car show. Old Business: --None New Business: --Kern Co. Raceway Park hosts local car clubs for weekend races. Need to know status of what clubs are doing what race? --We will start a new section on the BCCC website showing what charities clubs benefit when they put on their events to show the support car clubs do for our community. --Vote was taken to change the October meeting from Oct. 12 to Oct. 5 since both Chris and Larry could not make the Oct. 12. MC --Super Cruise 20. Date is set for February 27, 2016. We are moving our location for this event to the Budweiser Pavillion area. Looking at doing club clusters and a new layout. Chris & Larry met with Mike Hatcher and Bob Morrison on the months we were off to see if we could make it work and we can! We will enter at Gate 40. Central Valley Sportsman Boat & RV Show flyers will be out and available for Oct. BCCC meeting. --Raffle and end of meeting. Meeting adjourned at 7:25pm.
