GPS CURRICULUM METHODOLOGY U4 - U8 JUNIORS U9-U JUNIOR PREMIER U-U8 PREMIER 8+ PREMIER Player Evaluation & Assessment FUN-DAMENTAL PRACTICE TO DEVELOP PRACTICE TO COMPETE PRACTICE TO WIN AIM: To allow players of all ages and abilities, to develop to their full potential, in an ENJOYABLE, CHALLENGING and POSITIVE environment. OBJECTIVES: Create a clear and simple pathway for player development. Always keep the player at the centre of the development process. Allow players as much active time with a ball each as possible. Teach the principles of the game. Teach roles not positions. Acknowledge that players will learn and develop at different speeds. To keep a fresh and current outlook on the changes in young player development. Create a deep and underlying passion for the sport of soccer at all ages.

GPS - Futsal FORMATION - --- - At 5v5, teams will consist of goalkeeper, defender, midfielders and attacking player. - Players will be exposed to all roles in order to develop an understanding of playing in different s of the field. - Players will be encouraged to interchange positions during game play.

Week : Turning TECHNICAL - Dribble counter-clockwise - Dribble just with your weaker foot - Dribble backwards - Get the box, do 5 toe taps and go back to the circle - Last player that gets into the box is out TECHNICAL Players make a circle around the coach or a cone if you have to make more than circle. 4 boxes with 4 different colours around the circle. Players have to start dribbling with the sole part clockwise till the coach calls a colour and they have to get that box ASAP. - Let them realise which is the fastest way to turn and go into the box. - Change direction with the ball in front of you. - Change direction with the ball behind you. - Use the opposite foot of the direction you are going to turn. - Use just inside part of your feet - Create a competition between two groups 7x7 yard boxes with cone in the middle and one players on each space. 4 outside players waiting to switch. Players must dribble right-left-center and back to the middle and than switch. Focus on the change of direction with the sole part. You can set up cones behing the outside player to perfom footwork while waiting. : - Dribble with your head up, scanning the - Change direction as quick as possible - Turn around the cone - Turn stopping the ball just in front of the cone - Change the distribution of cones to create new turnings - Create a competition between two teams Red and White 4 lines of players that perfom the same circuit at the same time, to create a moment where the two players bump into and have to avoid each other. 60º turn in the first cone and zig-zag till get the opposite line. - Dribble with your head up, to avoid the player in front of you - Change direction with right foot if you re going to the right and use left if you re going to the left. - Double goal if your team score after more than 5 passes. 5x0 yard field with two futsal goals. 4v4. passes in a row before score. Week 4: Running with the ball TECHNICAL - Player who leads run backwards and is the player with the ball who has to tell him where to go. - Player who dribbles goes backwards. Week 5: Dribbling TECHNICAL - Show them moves and combination like: Double scissor, roullette, elastico, dragging+ scissor... - When the coach call Switch everybody have to switch box, the last one has to show us a new trick. TECHNICAL 5x5 yard box with plenty of cones inside. Players are dribbling around looking for empty cone where ejecute a v move. Create as many boxes as you need with 6-8 players in each one. Let the players be creative and pratice different moves. Encourage them to try new things. to know where is the empty cone. - After ejecute the move change direction as quick as possible v competition. Defender pass to attacker who has to get the opposite end zone. - Previous touches before dribbles with the sole part - Add cones on the side so when they are going to the line have to dribble in the other side that they did before. One line in front of another one. The players must drive till find the perfect timing to dribble in the same way, so one will go right and the other left. Week 7: Shooting - Change footwork each time all players finish - Pass/shot with weaker foot - Compete against the other groups. TECHNICAL Create a ladder in each line with cones. Footwork skills + S dribble through the cones + pass ( simulating an inside shot) through cones + player who waits behind the cones pass back. The other leaves the ball on the same place and run back to have 5 with the next player and start again. Rotate the player behind cones each time all players finish. - Speed of ejecution on dribbling - Weight of passing/shooting TECHNICAL - Race: First player to score gains a point for their team - Try toe surface to shoot as a good resource in Futsal Distance depends on the level. Split into two teams, starting either side of the cones. First player in the line dribbles the ball down the channel and perform a fake & take move through the gate to then shoot for goal. : - Keep ball close to allow change of direction - Accelerate after last change of direction - Big touch through gate to allow quick shot - Look for top or bottom corners - Add pinnies on the top corners and cones on the bottom corners to improve accuracy and get points. Week 8: Attacking with an overload TECHNICAL - Change the cones for one real defender and rotate this each min. TECHNICAL Undestanding of wall pass. Distance among lines depend on the level. Player with the ball dribbles till cones (simulate defender), pass and receives to pass forward again. The same sequence starts again from the other side. Check how players rotate. - Timing: - to give and go - to pass into the space and don t delay the run - Proper weight and accuracy of passing - Speed of ejecution - Add one mini-goal on each side with cone to score instead of dribble through the end zone. 7x7 yard with two end zones. v+. Create a competition with different levels. To get a point has to dribble into the end zone and stop the ball. Change the role each (defender, attacker, neutral). : - Keep your head up to see your teammate and defender moves - Use wall pass principals from the last drill. - Decision making: pass or dribble? depending on the defender - Mix up colour and number combinations x40 yard with a goal at each end. Split into two teams with each team starting in opposite corners of the. Coach will have four colour cones. (Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow) Each team must associate a colour with a number (e.g... red = ) They will not tell the other team which colour they associate with which number, meaning both teams should be different. When coach holds up that colour cone, the number associated with that colour for each team is the amount of players who can enter the playing. This will create random games of any combination. For example: v, 4v, v. - Decision making depending on the situation - Comunication with your teammates - Split the field into halfs.
