1 NEEDHAM SOCCER CLUB 2014 CURRICULUM U13 - U14 BAYS TRAVEL CURRICULUM - RECREATIONAL 10 WEEK TRAINING PROGRAM
2 NSC PRINCIPLES OF PLAY Play Out From The Back NSC players are comfortable on the ball all over the field. Teams try to pass the ball out from the goalkeeper and defenders into midfield and forward players. They do not punt or kick the ball upfield without thought. Possession NSC teams look to control games through ball possession and retention. They keep the ball on the ground as much as possible and understand the importance of keeping the ball and selecting the right opportunities to try and penetrate. Creativity NSC players are encouraged to be creative on the field. They try things such as taking on opponents with skills, moves and turns. Width In possession, NSC teams make use of the full width of the field to stretch opponents and create space. Pressure With A Purpose NSC players work hard to regain possession. They press opponents as a team to win the ball back at the earliest opportunity. Positional Versatility NSC players are confident and comfortable performing a range of roles within the team. They are adaptable to various game situations.
