Holly Pizzini, Lincoln Bowmen s newest State record holder! Arriving in Grand Blanc Saturday morning at Flint Bowmen Holly and her family was met with overcast skies and wet grass. The humidity coming from the ground let you know what kind of day you were in for as the temperature rose. The State 900 shoot started just after 10:00am Saturday morning. Holly approached the line for her 2 practice ends then the shoot began. Cub s shoot 30, 20, 10 meters in that order. This was the beginning of Holly s first time ever shooting the 900 state shoot. Mother nature was only kind to the line for ½ the day. The winds picked up a bit and it started to rain! Holly has never shot in the rain before and didn t like the rain droplets on her scope. She asked her dad, What am I going to do, it s hard to see? Her dad replied, Just shoot around the drops, you ll be ok! They looked at each other and laughed! After that Holly didn t drop a point in 14 ends, she finished 10 meters with a 300 and all X s! First day score: 891 with 53 X s. Day 2 Sunday; Sunday turned out to be a hot day and the skies cleared after a couple hours letting the sun out. Holly s dad was told Holly was ahead of the state record and needed to shoot better than a 891. Her Our new Newsletter Notice anything different about the Lincoln Bowmen Newsletter? record and needed to shoot better than a 891to be the new record holder. I asked Holly what her goal for the day was and she replied, I m going for a 900 Dad! Holly dropped 4 points total in the 30 meters while making adjustments to her sight, she then turned to her dad and said, I got it now! For the rest of the day she didn t miss a 10. She also shot the nock off 3 of her arrows and 1 from the other shooter on the bail! Final for day two was 896 and 58 X s! You go champette! cont. Who s winning continued. Senior Games in Michigan May 2011 Sarah Lance makes US team and heads to Poland! From left to right: Glenn Gold Medal New State Record 873 Sandie Swirles Duncan Gold Medal New State Record 876 Ron Silver Medal, Gary Gold Medal, Don Gold Medal The Lincoln Bowmen senior express was in overdrive as Glenn, Sandie, Ron, Gary and Don headed out to mind some gold and a little silver! The Senior Games were held in May and went the way of our 5 archers as their arrows found it s place on the bail. Personally, I think Sandie is a little too young for this bunch and definitely prettier! Glenn and Sandie led the way setting new State records with Ron shooting a couple hundred points better than last year scoring Silver! What caused the big point swing for Ron? He trained hard and wanted it! Not to mention having Glenn as a coach helps! Gary and Don thought they would try their hand in shooting this outside competition for the first time ever elevating the fab five to GOLD status once again! If you happen to see this league of extraordinary archers, give em a high 5 for a job well done! In the words of Yukon Cornilious, Silver and Gold, Silver and Gold! lol Way to represent! Looks like Lincoln Bowmen cleaned up! SARAH SETS SEVERAL NEW WORLD RECORDS! It all started with a trip to Puerto Rico. June 17th through the 23rd put the Lance family in Puerto Rico with the USA archery Jr. USat team at an international ranking event. Sarah shot in 104 degree temperatures and set several new world records! At the end of the trip she walked away with seven medals, five silver, one gold and one bronze. After a long flight home and barely enough time to rest the Lance family prepped for the next shoot. Sacramento, California was only 2 weeks away for Joad nationals and a shot at the junior World Team. Sarah won all her matches and made the team. She will now be traveling to Poland on August 19th to compete with her team in the youth world championships. Hopefully she will return home with a win and many gold medals! Let s wish Sarah and Sherry a safe trip! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! 7 7

A message from a Trustee Greetings fellow Archers! I hope you have been enjoying some of our upgrades to the club. Many nice compliments were told to us by visiting archers during the MET 900 shoot. I m proud of our club and I hope you are also. This is why I m taking the time to ask you to pick up after yourselves! It s a shame to do all this work then walk the front or back courses and find cigarette butts and pop cans, water bottles and wrappers left on the ground. When you re smoking in front of the clubhouse don t throw your garbage on the ground. You know we have invested in trashcans and butt cans for your convenience. Please use them! Your mama doesn t shoot here to clean up after you, and if she does, I m telling on you! Put your litter in its place! A message from the editor: I can t remember which Trustee asked me to write this or his exact words. I might have worded it this way for fun. By any means, you get the idea. Thanks for cleaning up after yourself! Anthony Our New Newsletter If you would like to submit something for the newsletter please E-mail it to me by the 20 th of each month. I will do my best to make sure it gets into The Arrow! This way I can E-mail it out by the first of each month. I really like kid stuff, pictures and scores from where ever you have been shooting. If you have any suggestions good or bad E-mail me. It s your newsletter, have it your way! (Lol) It s important to know I insert information as I receive it. I show no favoritism to anyone but kids, all kids! If your article is in the back instead of the front then I got it on the 20 th. I like to write with a little dry humor to keep things lively. Hey, I m only here for 6 months (Maybe more?), let s see where we can take this! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be your newsletter! Anthony & Holly Pizzini 8 8
