With 12 straight losses in the season series, Miguel Ojeda will turn to Tyler Beede in the finale here tonight. WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY : + ALTOONA, PA - Sam Coonrod and Brandon Waddell pitched well and coasted through the first five innings of last night s game, a precursor to what turned into a 3 hour and 20 minute affair. The Squirrels had the better of the early opportunities and left runners at the corners in the second after a pair of singles from Tyler Horan and Darren Ford. In the third, they loaded the bases with just one out before Chris Shaw hit into an inning-ending 4-6-3 double play. Another double play in the fourth allowed Waddell to face the minimum, although he finally let up the game s first run in the top of the fifth. With the bases loaded again and nobody out, Christian Arroyo hit into a 5-4-3 double play to score Steve Lerud and get Richmond a 1-0 lead. Altoona tied it up in the sixth when Jin-De Jhang chased Coonrod with a one-out RBI single. The 1-1 score held for a very long time, and Richmond s only hit beyond the fifth inning came on Shaw s one-out triple in the 11th inning. The Squirrels failure to score the go-ahead run led into the 12th inning, where Edwin Espinal sent everyone home with his sixth home run of the season.
