So get those teams together and may the best team win!!!!!! Even though we had a light turnout (14 golfers) for the August 25th tournament at Emerald Lakes, you couldn't have asked for a better day to play golf. The course was in great shape, and if you weren't there, you missed out on a free lunch of venison burgers, regular burgers and hot dogs prepared by the new course owner, who cooked them special for the Elk golfers. The team of Mark Wilson, Wayne Pruett, and Steve Carradine came out on top for this tournament shooting an 8 under par. Closest to the pin honors went to #4 Mark Wilson, #9 Kenny Barr, #15 Steve Stark and #17 David Waller. The weather was perfect and so was the Ledbetter Memorial Youth Trust Golf Tournament on Sept 14, 2013. We had 40 golfers come out (10 teams) to enjoy the morning and contribute to a great fundraiser which helps support our local youth programs. Congratulations to the winning team of Scottie Dawson, Ted Phipps, Bobby K, and George Tennyson who shot 15 under par, and was presented with 1st Place Ledbetter Trophy's. Closest to the pin for hole #3 was Scottie Dawson, and # 7, was Ted Phipps. Longest putt winner on #6 was also Scottie Dawson who drilled a 32 ft 4 inch putt to take this honor. We would like to thank the Golf Committee (Steve Fowler, Jeff Eckstein, Moogie Moore, and Steve Stark) for putting this tournament together, Sculley's Golf Course and Driving Range (Dart, Debbie and Lauren) for hosting, Butts Foods for providing the pork shoulders, Donna Fowler for all her help with lunch, and of course all the magnificent sponsors. Elks Care, Elks Share Don't forget, the normal Elk's tournament will be played September 29, 2013, at Pinecrest CC, 1 Trenton Hwy., in Dyer, TN. The October tournament will be at Bent Tree Golf Club, here in Jackson on October 13, 2013. Our last tournament for 2013, will be played at Woodland Hills CC, on November 10, 2013. As always sign up by 8:30 AM with a tee off at 9:00 AM. There are lots of additional opportunities coming up for all you golfers out there. The Mid-Year convention Golf Tournament will be help at Sculley's on October 11, 2013. You must be an active Elk member and registered to attend the convention to play in this tournament. The Breast Cancer Tournament, October 5, 2013 will also be at Sculley's. I'm sure Kay will have information about this in other areas of the newsletter. WORK NIGHT WEDS OCT 2 @ 6p We need your help!
