ABOUT US As New Zealand s largest whitewater rafting operator we offer a variety of team building & optional activities. In 1987 the company was known as Kiwi Discovery Rafting but after an amalgamation of four rafting operations, Queenstown Rafting Ltd, as it is known today was incorporated in 1996. Queenstown Rafting is a joint business venture between the original locally owned Kiwi Discovery and Real Journeys and is New Zealand s largest white water rafting company. The company is regarded as New Zealand s leader in safety operational procedures for rafting. WHAT WE CAN OFFER Rafting is a great pre and post conference optional activity for all ages (No minimum number required) We operate all year round and in all weather (you are going to get wet anyway) We offer bespoke itineraries and exclusive trips (minimum numbers apply) We have experience in providing rafts, guides and safety equipment for lake activities, float trips or filming/media opportunities The Triple Challenge is our most popular combo activity, however we will liaise with other tourism operators to help you create a combo to include a mix of any of the following: Skippers Canyon Jetboat with optional 4WD and gold panning, Helicopter flights to the start of the rafting, mountain biking in Skippers Canyon, Nomad Safaris 4WD trips, Shotover Canyon Swing and of course the Queenstown Rafting owned Cavells Cafe and Bar Hotel pick up and drop off at no extra charge (minimum numbers apply) All group rates on application FLEXIBILITY We understand numbers often change nearer the departure date, so have flexible booking conditions right up to 72 hours before your planned event We run a year round operation so support in the reservations team is always available during 7am and 7pm, 7 days a week for those last minute proposal questions or queries GROUP SIZES Maximum numbers will depend on time of year but as a guideline 300 pax per day in the summer or 70 pax per day during the quieter winter months Minimum numbers are not normally an issue as we can run small numbers with our normal departure times WHICH RIVER TO CHOOSE Although the Shotover River is our most popular trip, the Kawarau River is great for all levels and team building activities The Landsborough River multiday activity is a great option for high end incentives especially small executive groups River conditions can also change, so the benefit of both rivers is we can swap between either at short notice dependent on weather, water conditions and group requirements Photo opportunities Our group images and videos are available at discounted rates if pre purchased in advance Images for your proposal We have a range of images, videos and information readily available in a number of formats for you to use for group proposals and itineraries, please ask FOOD OPTIONS We own and operate Cavells Cafe and Bar. booking terms & conditions DATES FOR SUMMER & WINTER TRAVEL SUMMER - 1 October - 31 May (8 months) WINTER - 1 June - 30 September (4 months) CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL Rafting is not available to children under 13 years of age Rafters aged under 16 years must have a guardian travel with them and have a child waiver signed by a guardian Rafters aged under 18 years require a child waiver form to be signed by a guardian Minimum weight is 40kg (88lbs) Clients should be water competent For safety reasons Queenstown Rafting reserve the right to reject any clients if they are deemed unsuited to raft, please contact Queenstown Rafting if you are unsure of client suitability All trips require a minimum of 8 people to confirm, with the exception of Landsborough Wilderness Experience which is a minimum of 4 Shotover River grade 3-5 rapids Kawarau River grade 2-3 rapids Landsborough River grade 3-4 rapids Group cancellations must be received 48 hours prior to trip departure.
