WINTER TRAP LEAGUE RESULTS Krys Schindler 541.378.7308 Sunday, March 13 th was the final day of Winter League. We had a great afternoon of game shooting followed by a catered meal by Dan Cossey as well as announcements of this year s top shooters. Over a ten-week period we had 46 shooters and threw 22,750 targets. Despite true Winter League weather conditions (shooting in the rain, the wind, the fog), shooters hit 64% of those targets. FEBRUARY RIMFIRE MATCH Wes Jackson - 541.673.8257 Only four shooters braved the weather to compete in the March Rimfire Match. At 50 yds two shooters were luck enough to shoot a 250 with Wes Jackson leading with 13Xs. Jay Conn second with 9Xs and Mike B. Jackson third with 248-9Xs. At 75 yds the wind became a factor with no one able to shoot 250. Jay Conn was in first with 247-4Xs, Mike Jackson second with 247-0Xs & Roy Jenkins third with 246-3Xs. Final results had Jay Conn first with a 497-13Xs, Wes Jackson second with 495-16Xs and Mike Jackson third with 495-9Xs. The next match will be April 3 rd. March Madness and salmon fishing took their toll on participants. Conditions were ideal and all four shooters were able to get a perfect 250 at 100 yds. Leading at 100 yards was Wes Jackson with 18Xs, Jay Conn was second with 17Xs, and Chuck Allen was third with 16Xs. At 200 yards three shooters got a 250 with Jackson in first with 13Xs. Don Young second with 6Xs and Jay Conn third with 5Xs. Final results had Wes Jackson taking first with 500-31Xs, Jay Conn second with 500-22Xs and Don Young with 500-17Xs. JUNIOR RIFLE Ralph Klein 541.459.9517 HIGHPOWER Ralph Klein 541.459.9517 We went down to Grants Pass on Saturday, March 19 th. We took five competitors. Timothy Woodard (RSBG) won the Beginner Class with a 573-22 Centers (on average every third shot was a Center). Laura Woodard (RSBG Tim s sister) was second with a 561-13 Centers. Garret Rott (RSBG) was third with a 552-10 Centers. George Turner (RSBG) won the Intermediate Junior Class with 501-5 Centers. Sierra Chambers (GP) won the Junior Class with a 540-11 Centers. Roseburg will host the last match of the season on April 16 th. A potluck BBQ will follow the match. On Saturday, March 12 th, we had a Highpower Match. I won with a 397-19Xs. Tom Jordan was second with a 395-20Xs. Frank Biehl was third with a 390-14Xs. Frank was shooting his match rifle with iron sights. John Poppa did not complete his first target but shot a 190-7Xs on his second target. That is a very good start for a new shooter. Our next match will be Saturday, April 9 th. Sign up is at 8:30 a.m. There is no match in May (the Rifle Range is reserved for a 3-Gun Match).
