Invented by Navy Seal Randy Hetrick and used most widely by the U.S. Military, advanced athletes and trainers, TRX is a totalbody resistance and bodyweight training workout that utilizes gravity and your bodyweight to make your workout as intense as you want it to be. TRX stands for Total-body Resistance Exercise and consists of two adjustable nylon straps with handles and foot cradles on each strap. The number of exercises you can perform with the TRX is countless. From biceps curls, triceps extensions, pushups, rows, mountain climbers and the atomic pike, the list goes on and on. If you thought running on the treadmill was the only way of getting good cardio into your daily workout routine, think again. The TRX is also a great way to get your cardio in (jump squats, jumping lunges, mountain climbers, etc.). The best part about TRX? You can use it virtually anywhere, both indoors and outdoors and it s travel friendly. No more waiting in line for machines at the gym either. Just 30 minutes using the TRX will have your burning up to 800 calories. The TAMIU REC features one TRX suspension trainer in the weight room that can be used on the Smith Machine. With the new facility underway, the TAMIU REC hopes to bring TRX on board as one of the fitness classes that will be taught by certified Group Fitness Instructors. As a certified TRX trainer, I guarantee that this class will get you cut and lean in as little as one month. To find out where you can purchase a TRX and DVDs, visit http://www.trxtraining.com/suspensiontraining today! TRX Founder & CEO Randy Hetrick Single-Leg Pushup-to- Stand Pendulum 7
