Dr. Don Henneke Collegiate Memorial Award ASHA is very proud to award the Dr. Don Henneke Memorial Award to the top three Collegiate Riders, earning the highest All-Around points, from each of the 3 Divisions. Placings will be based on one horse/rider combination, showing in all 4 classes in a designated division. Eligible riders may show any eligible horse in the three divisions, but may not show in any one class more than once. General Rules & Show Information ASHA is proud to present the 2018 National Championships National Collegiate Championships, National Show and Futurity. Each of these 3 Shows brings together riders from across the Nation, on the best platform to present their Versatile Stock Horse. Over $15,000 in Awards for ASHA Classes will be presented during the Sunday Award Presentation. RULES & GUIDELINES All Classes will be conducted according to the General Rules of the ASHA National Collegiate Championship Show and the ASHA Handbook. The ASHA Handbook can be found at ASHA CONDUCT All exhibitors, owners and agents shall be under the direction of the show management and the Nolan County Coliseum. Show management, directors, employees and Nolan County Coliseum shall not be responsible for loss or injury to any person, horse, tack or other personal items that are lost or in any way injured or damaged. Exhibitors, spectators and guests are responsible for the protection of their equipment and are encouraged to lock trailers, vehicles, tack stalls and other personal items. DOGS & PETS Well behaved dogs are allowed on leashes. Outdoors only. Owner assumes all liability for pets. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS Out of state horses are required to have 30 day health papers. All horses are required to present current negative Coggins papers at the show office before show packet can be picked up. STALL & RV INFORMATION Stalls will be. RV Hookup is $35/night. Shavings are available for purchase at the coliseum for $10 per bag. Outside shavings are permitted. Only one horse may occupy a stall. Anyone using an unassigned stall for grooming, storage or stalling of a horse will be charged a full stall fee. Fans are allowed only if extension cords are secured and not on the ground. HOST HOTEL The Holiday Inn of Sweetwater has offered a special rate of $72 for any room including specialty rooms to ASHA for this event. Please call to pre-register due to limited spacing. (254) 898-0906 NATIONAL COLLEGIATE SHOW Each college or university is limited to one team per school. Collegiate teams will compete in either Division I or Division II. Three competition divisions offered: Open/Non-Pro, Limited Non-Pro, and Novice. High-Point, Class, and the Don Henneke Memorial Award will be awarded. Please refer to Dr. Don Henneke Memorial Award Form for qualification guidelines. NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS Will offer Open, Non-Pro, Limited Non-Pro, Green Horse, Novice, Youth 14-18, Youth 8-13 and an additional short stirrup class in Pleasure, Trail, and Reining. Collegiate Riders participating the Sweetwater Showdown will have a reduced rate for all National Championship classes. 4 YEAR OLD FUTURITY Must show in all four classes. Horses must be four years old, with a foal date within 2014. Horse may be exhibited by one rider. DOUBLE JUDGED These shows will be double judged, using two judges to determine one set of winners. Please refer to the ASHA Handbook Page 39. High-Point Awards will be based on one horse/rider combination, showing in all four classes in designated division. WITHDRAWING FROM CLASS OR SHOW No refunds of any fees will be made. Substitutions may be allowed due to unavoidable circumstances. No refunds will be given for missed classes. Please advise the show office if you plan to withdraw from a class. No Cattle Fee Refunds. RETURNED CHECKS A $50.00 penalty will be assessed for any returned check. DRUGS AND MEDICATION The use of any stimulants or depressants is prohibited. Any surgical procedure or drug that could affect a horse's performance or alter its natural conformation is prohibited.
