Since its inagural year in 2005, the Fargo Marathon has taken the running community by storm, growing from just over 2,400 participants to over 22,000 in 2017! Perhaps one of the most impressive details behind the number is that 50 states are represented on a regular basis. Literally & figuratively. Besides one great running event, our race features over 50 live bands located along the course! In Fargo, you run & rock! In order to keep this machine running, we need the supoprt of great sponsors from around the region... that s where you come in. As a sponsor of the Fargo Marathon, you will have the opportunity to be associated with the event that our communities have embraced and that people from all over the United States want to be part of. In 2016, there were a total of nearly 17,000,000 (16,957,100), down slightly from 17,114,800 in 2015. This represents a decline of 1%. Females account for nearly 9.7 million finishers nationwide and continue to represent 57% from event fields. Males in 2016 represented over 7 million finishers in U.S. races. In 2016, there were a total of 30,400 events, on par with 30,300 in 2015. There were more 5K and half marathon events though and fewer events that are other distances. The sweet spot of running event participation continues to fall between the ages of 25 and 44 for both genders (54% for women and 46% for men), and overall last year, 51% of all finishers came from between said age bookends. Course Entertainment With 50 live with bands, the fun is just beginning! It s a 26.2 mile block party showcasing the best local talent from the region. From cheer teams to marching bands, belly dancers to garage bands, and everything in between, runners embarking on Fargo will be in for a real treat. Marketing Campaign Management This year there will be more extensive and comprehensive year-round marketing planned including print, radio, television, online and email advertising, direct mail, in-store distribution and cross-promotions with key sponsors and products. By developing relationships with over 100 other marathons around the USA and Canada, our distribution network to reach specific demographics is much larger. Over 500,000 runners will receive promotional materials for the 2018 Fargo Marathon. Media Blitz Fargo Marathon, Inc., a non-profit corporation, was set up for the sole purpose of promoting and organizing the Fargo Marathon. To make the Fargo Marathon the best it can possibly be, Go Far Events, Inc. and the 20+ individuals of the Fargo Marathon committee will manage the event on a full-time basis. The Fargo Marathon team works throughout the year to generate extensive national, regional and local exposure via print, radio, television and online media coverage.
