Volunteers are needed to man the street corners for the 48th Annual H-S Christmas Parade. Mike Kirschling will be happy to sign you up as a volunteer! Thank you to all who volunteered to help make this Parade our best and safest one yet! P.S. Pray for nice weather! Breakfast with Santa is being held at Bay Port High School, prior to the Parade. Lots of help needed in the kitchen and in the dining room, so let one of our elves know if you can help out. Thank you to all who volunteered to help make a difference in a child s life. That s the Christmas Spirit! That s the Optimist way! It s going to be a very busy and exciting day. This is our first pancake breakfast in a long time and our first ever Breakfast with Santa. Thank you Volunteers, for stepping up and making these two events happen. A BIG Thank you to Mike Kirschling and Paula Pyle for Co-chairing the Parade this year, and to Rozy for helping them out. We can t forget Lucas Richards and his group of FBLA students at Bay Port High, who built an Optimist float for the parade with a little help from Steve Kubacki, and all the students who help hand out candy. Speaking of candy, thanks to Christina Kabara for securing the sweets. Thank you to those who guard the street corners and for driving in the parade. It takes a village to pull off a Christmas Parade and we've done it year after year! Bravo! And another BIG Thank you to Ryan Zietlow, Mike Demerath, Don Snyder, Dan O Leary and Bob Chambers for stepping up to chair & co-chair the First Breakfast with Santa! Thank you to all who are helping us get this event up and running for the first time! Santa is keeping track of who s volunteering...you ve been very, very good this year!
I am looking forward to our Social coming up on Friday, December 9th at the Stadium View. About 35 people signed up to come eat, drink and be Merry while watching the Daddy D s Christmas Show. Again, Darren Johnson has been kind enough to allow us to have a 50/50 raffle that night to benefit the club and gave us a discounted price. Please thank him when you see him. I am also looking forward to Christmas Caroling with all of you again who have done it in the past and for those who will join us this year on Wednesday, Dec.14th. Mark your calendars and watch for the details to come out soon! BIG Thank you to Jim Morrison for chairing this event every year! And Roy Kulju will be our chauffeur again...thanks Roy! Sue is a Suamico resident who owns and operates R & R Homestead Kitchen. It is a family owned business that makes Ice cream toppings in all flavors that they sell wholesale. The high quality topping can be purchased at local grocery stores in the area, such as Piggly Wiggly, Festival and Pick N Save. Sue brought samples in for us to take home. Amanda couldn t wait and gave it a two thumbs up taste test! Cathy Faith introduced Drew Knapp, Contestant on American Ninja Warrior Show Drew is a 2013 Bay Port graduate who fulfilled his lifelong dream of being able to compete on American Ninja Warrior this past summer. Drew s brother Dalton was diagnosed with Burkitt leukemia and that is what motivated
him.his determination and aspiration to just move forward and succeed. Seeing his brother battle cancer and fight like that, pushed him. Drew told us about his faith and his family s strength. Rozy wanted to give an update on his transplant.there isn t going to be one. He wanted to thank the club for all of their support and help with the fundraiser. The money was used to cover what insurance didn t as he went to several places about getting a transplant. He is unable to get a transplant as it is too risky with his medical complications. He continues to go to dialysis 3 times a week and is taking life, one day at a time. 50/50 winner: Cathy Faith Donated the $8 to the Breakfast with Santa fund. Thank you! Cathy Faith introduced Alyssa Becker with CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocate Along with a case manager, Lisa. Each year, 250 children are served. She told us what it was like to be a volunteer: staying with the child through the program, which advocate cases last 12-18 months.
