ON THE TOUR Baggage Trucks At check-in each rider will receive two baggage tags specific to their route. These tags must be used and remain on the baggage during the entire tour. The baggage truck also serves as an information center. Please check each day for meal times and locations, as well as other important tour information. Only two bags per person are included in the price. Everything you take must be in those two bags. Additional bags are $35.00 each. Bags will have a weight limit of no more than 45 lbs. each. Duffel or gym style bags are highly recommended. Plastic bags, storage totes, and corrugated boxes are not allowed. Bags may not be tied together. Riders are responsible for loading their own bags each day. Baggage trucks will be open for loading between 7:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m. each day. Bags will be available at each campsite in the late afternoon, and will only be unloaded when there are enough riders present to complete the task Riding Rules Riders are expected to obey all traffic laws and ride in a safe and courteous manner. Helmets are required. Riders not wearing helmets will be removed from the DALMAC tour without refund. Flags are optional. Bicycle flags are recommended and provided free of charge. Use of any headphone device while riding is strictly prohibited. Routes are marked with painted road markings, a chevron with a D under it. A map booklet for your route will be provided in your registration packet. Each route will be marked but, when in doubt, riders should refer to the map booklet. Please carry with you any items you will need during the day. Once you load your baggage you will not have access to the baggage truck until you arrive at your overnight location. Overnight Campsites Please remember we are guests at all overnight locations. Most of the places we stay are on school grounds. NO alcohol or smoking is permitted on school grounds. THIS IS A STATE LAW. This is a camping tour. You will be sleeping outdoors. You will need a tent and a sleeping bag. Quiet hours will be observed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day. Please be courteous to your neighbors. Note: There will be no electric or water/sewer hookups available for those traveling with Private Support RV s. Private Support Vehicles The private support vehicle packet and driver fee is $10 plus $5 for each additional non-rider occupant over the age of 10, allows the use of the overnight facilities including parking, camping space, rest room facilities, and showers (after 8:00 p.m.) During peak times showers are reserved for riders. Meals are not included and entrance to the cafeteria area is not allowed, unless the support people with meals fee has been pre-paid. Meals cost the same as regular riders on the route. Private Support Registration will take place in East Lansing or at the starting location of the 3 day or 2 day routes. All vehicle occupants over the age of ten years must be present to obtain a wristband and sign a Ride Release and Liability Waiver (an adult representative will be required to sign for minors). For those joining en route, private support vehicle packets will be available at each campground, from the route coordinator. We ask for your cooperation in observing quiet hours between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. All vehicles accompanying the tour are required to be registered and to display the proper permit. For the safety of riders, private support vehicles are not allowed on the bicycle route. You will receive a map with suggested vehicle routes to private support meeting spots to meet the rider(s) during the day. Riders will be held responsible for the conduct of all occupants with their private support vehicle. DALMAC reserves the right to remove riders from the tour without refund, or refuse an application in a future year, due to violations of these rules.
