MMG performance Mission To cultivate a high performance environment that develops students who possess the integrity and confidence to achieve at the highest level. Utilizing an individualized, comprehensive coaching system with each student and integrating cutting edge coaching techniques, we will provide them with the highest level of clarity, motivation and support to reach their individual goals while preparing them for a great college experience. The environment students are immersed in will provide a platform for them to learn the principles of high performance that can be applied in golf and life.

coaching team Ian Mellor Program Coordinator & Lead Coach A 2006 graduate from The University of Central Lancashire with a Bachelors of Science degree in Sports Technology in Golf Operations. After graduating Ian went on to work for Myerscough College, part of The International Institute for Golf Education assuming the position of Course Leader for the Foundation Degree in golf coaching. Ian delivered practical and theoretical based sessions on all areas related to golf performance including sports biomechanics, sports psychology and coaching theory. In 2008 Ian moved to the United States and worked for The Junior Players Golf Academy ( JPGA) for two years and then Core Golf Academy for six years. Both are junior academies that prepare junior golfers for collegiate and professional success. In both academies Ian held the position of Head Coach designing and executing development programs to support students reaching their goals in golf. At the Junior Players Golf Academy Ian also ran a year long mental performance program each year alongside the golf program as well as being a Head Coach. At Core Golf Academy Ian also spent two years heading the college placement program. Staying on the cusp of emerging research in golf performance coaching, linked with ten years of coaching experience and working with world leaders has allowed Ian to develop coaching philosophies that have seen his students go on to achieve at very high levels. Students have won four national amateur championships, junior national tour championships and have gone on to compete on the European Tour, Asian Tour and South American PGA Tour.

coaching team coaching team Tyler Mcghie Program Coordinator & Lead Coach Dr. BrEndAn Mclaughlin sports chiropractor, strength & conditioning coach A graduate of Coastal Carolina University, Tyler earned his business degree while on a golf scholarship. Tyler most recently was a Head Golf Coach at Core Golf Academy for the past two seasons. Before Core, Tyler was the Director of Instruction at The Athlete Institute, a high performance junior academy in Canada. Tyler is a Canadian PGA Class A member, along with Swing Catalyst Level 2 certified. Tyler s current client base includes players on the PGA Tour, Latin American Tour, Canadian Tour, elite amateurs, college golfers, and elite juniors. A kid grows up a lot faster on the golf course. coaching program external advisor We believe that collaborating and continually learning from industry experts is a crucial aspect to continuously develop a program that offers students an experience that is world leading in golf performance. To do this we have aligned ourselves with the Mark Bull, world leading golf specific sports biomechanist to support us in growing the program so it is always at the top of the golf performance industry. MARK BULL WORLD LEADING GOLF SPECIFIC SPORTS BIOMECHANIST Mark is a leader in golf biomechanics who works with multiple national programs and numerous European and PGA Tour Professionals. Mark has lectured for England Golf, Golf Australia, Swiss PGA, Irish Golf and Scottish Golf to name a few. Mark has a PhD in Sport and Exercise Science as well as being a level 3 AAA member of the British PGA. Mark is the owner of Bull 3D, a 3D motion capture software provider and development company also providing education on global scale to universities, industry professionals and federations. There are only two options regarding commitment. You re either in or out. There is no such thing as life in-between - pat riley -

coaching team history The MMG Performance coaching team have worked together for a number of years in previous work establishments supporting elite golfers in achieving their goals. For 2 years, Ian, Tyler, and Dr. McLaughlin worked together at Core Golf Academy. Aside from the students attending the academy the team has also worked together collaborating on the development of other elite juniors, college players and professionals. Tyler McGhie and Dr. McLaughlin have been working together since 2011. We agree that players, coaches and trainers working collaboratively is essential to the golfer s success in the short term and longterm. Over the years Ian, Tyler and Dr. McLaughlin have had the opportunity to build relationships and work with some of the most respected coaches in the game. Over the last five years they have spent many hours shadowing Sean Foley and have invested in learning from specialists in all disciplines of the game, such as PGA Tour putting coach David Orr, Trackman expert James Leitz, and world renowned golf biomechanics expert Mark Bull.

the facility the program YEAR PROGRAM...Monday, August 29, 2016 - Friday, May 26, 2017 SEMESTER I...Monday, August 29, 2016 - Friday, December 16, 2016 SEMESTER II...Tuesday, January 3, 2017 - Friday, May 26, 2017 SAMPLE SCHEDULE The program will be run from West Orange Country Club in Winter Garden, Florida (West Orange have agreed to memberships for each player at the student rate). Each player will be a member of the West Orange CC which will allow them to play the course as much as they would like. This is very important in the development of the golfer and their ability to score. West Orange CC offers a great golf course to challenge the players day in and day out. The course will allow the program to use all facilities (range, putting green, short game areas, and course). Thanksgiving and Easter Holidays: Will align with WPS. These holidays we understand will typically involve a mixture of tournament play and students heading home to be with family. For this reason the standard weekly program structure will not operate and a schedule that works for all will be determined leading up to these times.

individual coaching trackman coaching We are committed to keeping the student to coach ratio extremely low to guarantee that each student can have access to the necessary onetoone coaching that we agree necessary in their individual development plan. Students will work with both Ian and Tyler over the length of the year on all areas of the game. Due to this being a specialized elite program only accepting a small number of students, this will allow the coaches to communicate regularly on all parts of each students game and provide them with individual attention. Coaches have at hand leading technologies used in developing the best players in the world such as Trackman and 3D motion capture. These technologies will be used when necessary to provide the coach and player a much deeper understanding of what is happening and why a player is moving the way that they are. Trackman is the world s leading launch monitor used by a number of the leading players and coaches around the world. The doppler radar based system tracks the full trajectory of any shot, from 6 foot pitches to 400 yard drives, pinpointing the landing position within 1 foot at 100 yards. Combining that with tracking 26 impact and ball flight parameters in real time, it is an essential tool to help players get the most out of their games. Trackman can be used as a diagnosis tool to aid improvement of club delivery or to improve a player s scoring capabilities through the option to develop individualized combines. Trackman enjoys the status of being the de facto training tool amongst the leaders of the game; from hundreds of Tour players to thousands of coaches to every golf equipment manufacturer in the industry.

3d motion capture on-course coaching Both Ian and Tyler are highly experienced users of 3D Motion Capture having been working with Mark Bull s software for some years now. Both coaches have a strong professional development relationship with Mark Bull and have been learning from him on a very regular basis, specifically on the biomechanics and underpinning philosophies of why players move the way they do in the golf swing. The software, education provided by Mark and collaboration with Brendan McLaughlin allows the coaches to provide each student the experience that only the top players in the world have access to on a regular basis. It allows us to provide movement development to improve golf swing performance in a healthy and functional way for each individual. We are driven to provide a home facility that allows the students a course that is extremely accessible, while taking into account transportation (to and from) and tee time availability. The facility must also provide a host environment that fulfils all the performance factors required for each student to develop their game to a high level. Our current choice, West Orange CC, offers both criteria when it comes to accessibility and a golf course that challenges the students on a daily basis. Students will participate on course in numerous competitive games that will develop their skills to score under the perceived pressures experienced in tournament play. On course skills tests and challenges will also play a large role in developing each students art of scoring. Students will be supported in oncourse sessions by the coaches providing them with the individualized feedback they need to develop this area. BENEFITS OF USING 3D INCLUDE: Instantaneous quantitative data This data cannot be measured using video methods alone and many movements are impossible to see with the naked eye. It shows the coach what is actually happening in the player s movement. Biofeedback training This allows the coach/player to set the system to provide realtime audio feedback if a specific desired movement was accomplished. View your swing from any angle Front, behind, above, below and both sides. Compare your different swings, discover what was the difference in the movement between your good and bad swings and at different points in time over the season. Students will be supported in oncourse sessions by the coaches providing them with the individualized feedback they need to develop this area.

short game & putting coaching college placement consultancy A major part of scoring in golf is short game and putting. Training sessions will be led that will facilitate the learning of the skills necessary to perform in these areas. The drills and tasks integrated into the program will allow the students to constantly gain feedback on their improvement. Due to the importance of these areas aside from individual instruction, a number of the skills essential to performing on and around the greens will be covered in a group clinic approach throughout the year. Playing college golf is one of the goals that unifies most of the students in the program. It is becoming increasingly more challenging due to more students than ever wanting to play at the collegiate level. Both lead coaches are very experienced with the process students are required to go through to attain such opportunities. Ian through coaching and having developed a college placement guidance program has supported dozens of golfers over the last eight years to achieve placements and scholarships with college golf programs in the United States; and Tyler having competed for four years at Coastal Carolina, a NCAA Division 1 program has been through the recruitment process as a junior himself and knows what to expect in the college game. He has also coached and supported numerous golfers through their recruitment process. image consultancy on tournament scheduling Tournament planning and scheduling is always a case of balancing player development and building a college recruiting resume. Each student as stated in many cases have their own individual goals and needs. From past experience the coaches predict that for the majority of students a similar tournament schedule will be created with maybe a few unique additions or subtractions related to the unique goals of the student. Identifying and creating this base similar schedule will allow coaches to be able to support the students more at tournaments. Registration for tournaments will be made personally by the student but will be overseen by the lead coaches to ensure they have the best chance for entry.

tournament preparation & feedback training with dr. Mclaughlin Dr. McLaughlin specializes in preparing athletes for the physical demands of golf at every level. Based on each player s comprehensive orthopaedic and neurological exam, movement screen in addition to the Mark Bull 3D & Trackman testing, every player will have a program built to fit their specific needs. This will ensure the player can perform at their absolute highest level. Taking in the right information and making smart decisions are vital steps to success. The experiences students have in tournament play often carry a lot of emotion which provides an opportunity for coaching to have a higher impact on the student s development. A very important aspect of our program is to prepare our players for tournaments and to provide feedback following tournament play. Players will be educated on how to create a plan during practice rounds and will be challenged to learn the importance of good decision making and how to review their tournament rounds. > Ian and Tyler will do their best to attend all tournaments each semester that are in the Orlando area. For travel events, Tyler and Ian will be available to attend for coach cost and travel cost. THERAPY with dr. Mclaughlin A large component of the complete player development process is to ensure the athlete is not being held back by any functional imbalances or compensations. Players will go through a full body assessment to identify any imbalances or weaknesses that can inhibit golf performance and potentially cause pain. Therapy will be conducted on a regular basis in season to allow peak performance and prevent movement deficits that occur during extensive training and practice. parent communication The relationship between the parent, coaches and student are essential in supporting the student to perform at their best. It is important that in each case the roles of every person involved are clearly defined and these roles may vary from student to student depending on their needs. We will determine how and how often each parent would like to be updated on the student s progress. Typical timeline would be one email per month breaking down how they are developing in all areas of the game, tournament feedback, updates on their fitness and movement and plans for the next training period.

more weekly schedule Full Game Assessment Including Stats Analysis Online Space for Tracking Player Development We highly recommend students track their stats using shotstohole.com. This is very valuable for not only for the coach and player to understand the areas where they must continue to focus on, but it will show ownership from the players that they also take responsibility for their improvement, and in so training them to be ready to do the same in college and as professionals. College coaches see it at a positive when players keep their stats. Tracking development is a key aspect of our golf program. Training and seeing progression from day 1 to the end of the season is a great way for parents and players to see where they started to where they currently are. We will be using Google Drive (or similar) to house all information in one place. Coaches and parents will all be linked to the player s account. Monday to Friday the golf program will run from 2:30pm to 5:30pm (except for on Wednesday when we will begin at 2:00 pm due to school finishing early). The practice structured weekly will adapt depending on the needs of the students. The training plan for the current week will be posted online for the students and the parents to see. Saturdays and Sundays will typically either be tournament days, play days or rest days. If students are not competing in a tournament on a weekend they will be asked to play in a competitive environment to either develop a specific part of their game or record their stats. The more I practice, the luckier I get. - arnold palmer - mental coaching Just like physical training, mental training must be done consistently for development to occur. Each player will acquire the keys for getting the most out of their games in pressure situations. The players will also be learning skills that will not only help the iin golf, but in life. No matter what the situation, the player will have the mental toughness to keep their composure and be able to take the necessary steps for them to execute the shot when it really matters. For any additional advice from an expert that specializes solely in this area we recommend PGA Tour Mental Performance Coach Paul Dewland who will be remaining in the Winter Garden area to serve his junior, amateur and professional clients.

elite program PROGRAM BENEFITS image Clear understanding of what it will take to reach your goals A team of high level coaches to support you A college placement plan Injury avoidance model approach Added power and speed A great learning and team environment Using the competitive environment to excel your performance

elite performance what separates us Ian, Tyler and Dr. McLaughlin have a vast knowledge when it comes to the game and what it takes to be a champion golfer. Different than most programs, ours offers much more focus and attention on each player. This allows the coaches to spend more one-on-one time with each player to ensure the players move towards their goals. Golf Program Cost Coaching: $26,500 Fitness Training: $8000 West Orange Country Club Golf Membership: Initiation $100, monthly dues $179, club storage $15 extra per month. We also will provide apparel for students which will include golf bag, shirts and hats. > To help with tournament registration, travel, and equipment costs we recommend that all players have a credit card on file.
