SCHEDULE 1 POSITION DESCRIPTION STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH POSITION PURPOSE: The position is responsible for the provision of technical training and fitness services to the Hawkes Bay Rugby Football Union (HBRU). To enhance the image of rugby at all times through being a positive role model in all respects and by showing a sound knowledge of all aspects of Fitness Training. The role along with other HBRU staff, directly contributes to the promotion and development of the game of rugby. RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Mitre 10 Cup Head Coach RESPONSIBLE FOR: Fitness / strength training for all Mitre 10 Cup squad members and wider training group members, other HBRU representative teams, HBRU Academy members and to provide fitness and strength training advice and guidance to HBRU affiliated clubs as required. INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: Chief Executive Officer, Mitre 10 Cup Coach, Mitre 10 Cup Assistant Coach, Mitre 10 Cup Manager, Rugby Manager, Players Board Members, Other HBRU Managers, Coaches and Staff, Mitre 10 Cup Support Staff. HAWKES BAY RUGBY UNION Position Profile STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH, HAWKES BAY RUGBY KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Purpose, Vision and Values PERFORMANCE INDICATORS - Participating in the development of the Contribution to overall planning rated Hawke s Bay strategic business plan that as effective provides for: - Winning performance/successful teams Actively promotes and supports - Promoting and marketing the game strategic direction of HBRFU - Growing the game - Maintaining and building ongoing commitment of clubs, players, administrators and volunteers - Identifying and development of talent for the future KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Operational Support: - Assist with Hawke s Bay Representative Teams - Attendance at all request sessions as required - Feedback from the players and coaches rates - Coordinate the warm up of players of those teams contribution as valuable prior to trainings and matches (rugby specific drills) - Assist with relaying instructions to players during - Coaches and players rate performance Hawke s Bay representative matches as directed by as appropriate coaching staff - Advise in conjunction with team nutritionist - Feedback from players and coaches rates on - Nutrition requirements as requested contribution as valuable. - Provide feedback on all Hawke s Bay Rugby - Hawke s Bay Rugby Manager and Coaches players to the HBRU Rugby Manager and other rate contribution as valuable HBRU Coaches as required. - Plan pre / in / off season training requirements, - Feedback from players and coaches rates In conjunction with relevant Coaches, all players contribution as valuable Contracted to the HBRU or elite training squad members in relation to their representative programmes. - Work with Coaches to continually develop new drills - Player and Coach feedback that sessions are and training programmes to ensure players retain varied, interesting and relevant. interest in training as well as ensuring that drills - All sessions attended developed support game plans and tactics. - Gym attendance is regular - Managing and monitoring player physiological - Players meet superior fitness levels - Fitness aerobic, anaerobic, strength, balance and - Coaches rate contribution to player / drills

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT SKILLS - Empathy and understanding of individuals needs regardless of background and ethnicity - Good relationship management skills - Respected and regarded by reputation as credible, professional and competent - Being approachable - Experience in assessing and managing performance as it relates to physical fitness and training.
