STATUS AS AT 30 APRIL 1953. The attached statement shows the status of contributions and advances to the Working Capital Fund as at 30 April 1953. 2, WORKING CAPITAL FUND. Two active Members still owed all or part of their advances to the Working Capital Fund. Advances received from active Members amounted to $2,842,133, or 98% of the amount due from the active Members. З. ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS. The collection of contributions from active Members in respect to the 1953 assessments was 25.3% of the amount assessed on those Members. The percentage of collections in respect to the 1952 assessments from active Members at 30 April 1952 was 16.8 %, indicating an improvement in the collection of contributions. II. Arrears of Contributions 1948-1951 inclusive 1. The Executive Board at its eleventh session requested the Director- Gene±'аl to forward to the Sixth World Health Assembly a report on any Members Wn ose assessments for 1948, 1949, 1950 and 1951 had not been paid at that time.1 On 6 March 1953 the Director -General despatched a communication to the governments concerned to advise him when payment could be expected in order that he might present the latest information on this matter to the Assembly, 1 Resolution EB11.R31, Оff.Rec.World 11th Org. 46

The Government gave instructions through their bankers in Argentina to a bank in Geneva to pay Vи0 the equivalent of $304,599 in Swiss francs. As Argentina has no clearing agreement with the Swiss Government, the Office Suisse de Compensation is unable to authorize this payment. A communication received in January stated that the necessary measures were being taken to pay this amount and the 1952 assessment.
