Milk Record Classes Class 1 - Ayrshires Class 2 - Holstein Friesians For entry in both Ayrshire and Holstein Classes. In the case of both breeds the qualifying lactation shall be that immediately preceding the Show and the animal must have calved again, or be due to calve, within 13 months of the previous calving; lactiation to be based on a 305 days record. Rules of Competition FOR Cattle, Sheep & Clydesdale Horses 1. The whole animals, etc., entered for competition, except in the Open Classes, must be the bona fide property of member, who must be resident or pay rates or have part of his lands in the Show District. All the animals entered for competition, except in the Open Classes, must have been the property and kept on the premises of exhibitor for six weeks before the Show. Any co-ownership animal must be owned within Show District. 2. The cattle, except in Classes 16-27, to be of Ayrshire or Holstein-Friesian breed, and the horses, except in Light Horse Classes, all of Clydesdale breed. All stock intended for exhibition must be booked with the Secretary before hand or from 7-9pm, on the evening before Show. Booking dues in each class, as stated. Entry fees (except in Light Horse Classes) not paid on or before the evening preceding the Show will be doubled. 3. Animals ages to be calculated from 1st January of year in which they were calved, foaled or lambed; and no animal gaining a first prize can be exhibited same day in any other class, except for Sweepstakes, Mare and Off spring and Medals. Milk stock not to be removed from the ground till after Parade. All other stock 3.30p.m. Exhibitors infringing this rule will forfeit their prizes. 4. In particulars not expressed, the Exhibition shall be under the management and direction of a Committee of Directors, whose decision on all matters affecting the show will be final and not subject to review. Parade of Prize Winners on completion of judging, in which all prize animals must take part, under forfeiture of premium. 5. All female sheep brought to the Show must not be pregnant, nor lambed in the last 30 days. 6. Any person lodging a protest in connection with the show must do so in writing and deposit the sum of 5.00 with the Secretary. If protest be sanctioned, money will be refunded; if not, it will be retained by the Society. 7. The Protest Committee shall have the power to remove from the ring and Showfield any exhibit against which a protest is successfully lodged in terms of Rules 1 and 6. Any animal exhibited on the field for stock purposes must be entered as such with the Secretary. 8. No entry money will be charged in the Children s Classes for calves. Kilbarchan 188th Annual Show 2016 Rules of Competition FOR LIGHT Horses 1. Entries must be lodged by Thursday 16th June 2017 except for Classes H14-H19 at DOUBLE the entry fee on showday. 2. The Committee reserve the right to refuse acceptance of entries. 3. Entry money will not be refunded unless the request is received at least 72 hours before the show date. 4. In the event of the show being cancelled, no refunds will be given. 5. All ponies/horses attending the show must have a valid passport which must be brought to the show in order to comply with Government regulations. 6. All competitiors should have their own insurance, including third party liability and personal accident cover. 7. Organisers and landowners will not hold themselves responsible for any accident or injury to any person, animal or property whatsoever or however caused. It shall be deemed a condition of entry to the showground that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the promoters against any legal action from any such incident. 8. All ridden horses and ponies must be 4 years and over. 9. The following behaviours will result in elimination from class/show, without refund of entry fees: ill-treatment of a horse or pony; irresponsible/dangerous behaviour, handling or riding; inappropriate/over-use of a whip; any behaviour which is not in accordance with the Rules of Competition or general etiquette. 10. All horses and ponies must be in acceptable condition. 11. All mounted riders must wear their numbers at all times. 12. All mounted riders must wear protective head gear which fits correctly, is correctly fastened at all times, is solid and unbroken and must conform to current standards. Official Stewards/Organisers may eliminate a competitor riding at the show without a hat or with the chinstrap unfastened or with a hat that does not comply with these standards. 13. The Committee reserve the right to substitute other judges for those named. Judges decisions are final. 14. All horses/ponies competing in classes where stated height is required, may be asked to provide a valid Joint Measurement Board Height Certificate if the judge has any doubt about the animals said height. 15. Age restrictions for riders and horses/ponies: ages stated are as at date of Show. 16. No galloping/cantering on the showground except in rings/on courses. 17. Horses/ponies must not be left tied up and unattended. 18. Towing within show ground and car park is at owner s risk. 19. All parking is controlled by Show Stewards and their instructions must be strictly followed. 20. Protests. Any objection which may arise must be made to the Steward in the judging ring immediately and lodged in writing with the Secretary within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the class accompanied by a deposit of 20.
