ABOUT ME PADI CD #966432 Everybody has his story. I will tell you mine, so you will know whith who you are dealing with. I got infected with diving when I was 6 or 7 years old. In this time my Dad brought me always some stickers from the petrol station for my Hans Hass sticker album. Awesome pictures about underwater, fishes, reefs and sharks. I loved it. When I was 15 years I did my Junior Rescue Diver with the german rescue swimmer organisation DLRG. Breathing under water - great! At the age of 16, I started Shotokan Karate and was for years a Member of the German National Team and I was a quiete successful Trainer. When I was finished studying I worked first as a layouter and designer, later selfemployed in the printing industry - I designed workflows for computer-to-plate and print-on-demand technologies. Time to come back to the water. I did my Open Water Diver in 1999 in Hurghada/Egypt followed by all the other non professional courses, including some specialties. Then I finally did my divemaster in Germany. I was still infected and used every free minute to go diving - in the pool, in the cold german and austrian lakes with no visibility or on livaboards in Egypt - it was gorgeous and I knew that diving was my passion. Finally I decided to quit everything in Germany and do my instructor - it was great - I was free and did what I liked most - diving and teaching. I stayed in Egypt for nearly 5 years, got selected in 2009 as a PADI Top Producing Instructor for PADI International Ltd. In this time I was the Diving- and Safety Consultant for a German/Austrian movie production about the life and work of Hans Hass Das Mädchen am Meeresgrund based on a Novel of his wife Lotte Hass. How great was that - after so many years getting back in touch with Hans Hass! After nearly 5 year in Egypt and experienced as an instructor and manager I started travelling to explore Asia. I worked in Egypt, Maldives, Oman, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia as a Manager, Divemaster Trainer & Mentor and Instructor. I met Hans, the owner of Unawatuna and Nilaveli Diving Center and we put our strenghts togehter to improve the diving in Sri Lanka. Quality, outstanding locations, excellent education, well maintained or brand new equipment, motivated diving instructors and the passion for diving and teaching made us to the most successful Diving Centre in Sri Lanka and we earned the PADI Asia Pacific Award for Outstanding Contribution in Diver Education in 2016. ABOUT SRI LANKA About Sri Lanka: Bathed in warm Indian Ocean currents, and with nearly 1600 kilometres/1000 miles of palm-fringed coastline, Sri Lanka is an amazing dive destination. This island nation has for millennia been a crossroads of historic shipping lanes, the Silk Road and other trade routes have shaped its unique culture. The landscape is as vibrant and varied above the water as it is below. The waters of Sri Lanka are home to an incredible range of marine creatures from massive blue whales all the way through to tiny nudibranch. Sri Lanka has an abundance of great sites to discover including great wreck dives which are scattered off the coast. Local divers are still discovering new wrecks as they explore the waters of this island nation. Many of the wrecks are covered in marine life, soft corals, macro critters and large aggregations of schooling fish. Above the surface, Sri Lanka also boasts wildlife reserves, which protect native species such as leopards, porcupines and anteaters. It is also famous for its unique foods and amazing teas, which should be sampled as part of any dive trip. Where you dive in Sri Lanka depends on when you plan to visit because the monsoon seasons vary from one end of the island to the other. October to May is the high season for diving the west and south-west coast, and May to October is the best time to dive the north-east coast. With incredible diving, friendly locals, amazing food and top side treasures, Sri Lanka truly offers it all. Great Dive Panadura Wreck Sitting in around 12 metres/40 feet of water, this is a popular wreck for certified divers, which is also known as the Panadura Nilkete Wreck. The dive site is accessible by a short boat ride from Panadura. This is a great site to get a taste of the wreck diving available in Sri Lanka. Goda Gala Diyamba This underwater rock formation, about 10 minutes by boat from the resort town of Unawatuna on the south side of Sri Lanka, lets divers explore reef systems loaded with large fish such as trevally and Napoleon wrasse. Discovering the dive site s real charm requires shifting focus and trying to spot some of the many types of nudibranchs. HMS Hermes Near Batticaloa, in the north-east, divers can descend on a rare World War II artifact: HMS Hermes. The ship was the world s first purpose-built aircraft carrier. It sank off the coast after 1942 and is one of only a handful of carrier wrecks accessible to divers anywhere. Because it s very deep, you will require PADI TecRec training to dive this wreck. Dive Summary Visibility Visibility ranges from around 10-25 metres between high and low seasons. Water Temperature Water temperatures are usually around 27 C/80 F for most of the year. Weather West coast diving is best from around October to May, and the east coast is best from around May through to October. YOUR INSTRUCTOR EDUCATION After successfully completing the OWSI program you will be qualified to join the 2 days I.E. (Instructor examination). PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) During the OWSI programs you will learn how to fine tune your teaching abilities. You will be practicing teaching more presentations in the classroom, confined water and open water. We will explain to you in detail, all of the PADI standards and PADI courses, starting from the Open Water Diver course, including the Specialty courses up to the Divemaster course. You will get the chance to get practical experience for your future instructor career. Aditionally we will look into legal risk management. After completing the IDC, you will get a unique SRI-LANKA IDC T-Shirt as a gift and you can wear it during the Instructor exam. Emergency First Response Instructor (EFR) To be an Open Water Scuba Instructor you already need to be an EFR Instructor. We always offer this course one day before the IDC starts. You will learn how to structure and organize EFR courses, you practice: - Presenting course content. - Encouraging self-discovery in students. - Evaluating student understanding and skill mastery during hands-on skills practice. - Managing effective scenario-based learning experiences. Marketing and the business of diving will also be coverd during your OWSI course. Another area we will look at is adaptive teaching. As soon you decide to join us on the IDC, you need to start preparing. For this, you do not necessarily need to be in Sri Lanka. We can lead your learning via e-mail. In this phase it is very important that we regularly keep in touch, as we can chart your progress and point you in the right direction to assist learning. A very important part of your preparation is to review the five theory topics and to be comfortable with them. In the two days leading up to the IDC we have a free practical preparation programme. Amongst other things, we will work on your demonstrations of the 20 basic skills from the PADI skill circuit and run rescue evaluation and knot tying workshops. Minimum Requirements for Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI) The only requirements are that you re at least 18 years old and have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. An EFR Instructor rating is required to become a PADI Instructor, but you don t have to wait until you re ready to go pro. You can complete or refresh this training during your PADI Instructor training.

CROSSOVER PADI Crossovers To If you hold a qualifying certification from another training organization equal to the PADI Divemaster level, you can join the IDC. We are only able to accept this if you bring the original certification. Accepted organizations are: CMAS, BSAC, NAUI, SSI, SAA, PDIC, FAUI, IDEA If you are a member another training organization, please ask us about the prerequisites to enroll into the IDC. If you are a scuba instructor from another training organization, then it is possible to do a crossover to PADI. Your experience as a qualified instructor means that you only need to be introduced to the PADI system of education. For this reason the crossover program is equal to the OWSI part of the IDC. FAQ s ANDI IDC FAQ What is included in our packages? We are offering various IDC packages, starting from every level, either from Rescue Diver or Divemaster level. Starting at any of these levels, you have the option at PADI IDC level to choose from the BASIC, COM- FORT, MEGA or MEGA MSDT package whereby each package is an extension from the previous package. Our BASIC package includes the Prep IDC course, the IDC, the GoPro Actioncam Instructor and the Oxygen Provider Instructor course. Our COMFORT package includes the Prep IDC course, the IDC and the EFR Instructor course, the GoPro Actioncam Instructor and the Oxygen Provider Instructor course. The more extensive the packages are, the higher the costs for application fees and required PADI materials will be. Pending on what PADI Instructor Specialties courses you choose, additional costs may occur for either required PADI materials or equipment rental. Since these choices vary from person to person and are usually not made until the Specialty Instructor training starts, these costs can t be calculated before the start of Instructor Specialty training. We offer a prebooking discount for our packages if you are paying 4 weeks in advanced the whole ammount via PayPal -10%. If you pay 4 weeks in advanced 50% of the ammount via Paypal -5%. We do understand that your circumstances may change, not allowing you to start or finish a course, therefore we are very flexible about your starting and completion date. You can delay the start of your program(s) as much as you need, this is no problem, as long as you keep us informed about your change of plans. As with any university or training facility, deposits and full payments are not refundable but once you commit to our courses, you will see that we are commitment as well and will be there to help you complete your courses. Can I work in in return for free training? As of now we do not offer any free training in exchange of work. Can I split payments? As for split payments, this is not possible, before the start of the first course you participate in, you will have to pay the full balance of the remaining course fees and required PADI materials obtained through us. FAQ s full payment needs to be completed, either upon arrival or latest at the start of your first course. Are the flights included? No, they are not. There are so many variables, options and prices that we can t include these into our package prices. You will have to book your own flight to and once you arrive here, we can help you out with finding or arranging for local transportation to your course location. Where is my PADI Instructor qualification recognized? After completion of the courses, all PADI certifications are valid and accepted worldwide and you can start working as either a PADI Divemaster or PADI OWSI. You will be affiliated with PADI, the largest recreational dive organization in the world who holds a 70% worldwide market share within the recreational dive industry and is considered to be the market leader. No. It is not. You can book your accomodation for the duration of the IDC/I.E. with an additional charge of 200,00 Euro. Food and Drinks are not included.
