OVERVIEW To qualify for PADI Instructor Development Course, you'll need to: Be certified as a PADI Divemaster or leadership level with another recreational diver training organization. Be at least 18 years old. Have been certified as a diver for at least 6 months. Be in good physical condition for diving and submit a medical exam form signed by a physician. Have completed and logged at least 100 open water dives with experience in night, deep and navigation. The PADI Instructor Development Course program consists of: Formal training in conducting PADI programs and experience programs. Independent study assignments. Practical application sessions. Written examination. Instructor Development Course (IDC) includes Assistant Instructor Course, Open Water Scuba Instructor and EFR (CPR and First Aid) Instructor. This program will build upon your abilities to organize and supervise dive activities, while concentrating on developing teaching skills. Through independent study, classroom sessions and practical application, candidates learn to construct effective teaching presentations and conduct PADI programs. To help you through the program, PADI has developed an array of learning tools. During the IDC you will use the latest teaching techniques, the complete system of PADI support materials, and will be continuously assessed on your teaching and presentation skills. You will be required to give additional teaching presentations beyond that of the usual IDC Program. This gives you an added advantage not only during the final Instructor Examination (IE), but also prepares you for a future career as a diving professional. Upon successful completion you will be awarded an IDC completion form, which is your passport to the IE. PADI Instructor Exam (IE): Instructor Examinations is conducted over 2 days with PADI Examiners from PADI Asia Pacific. The I.E. includes evaluation of Dive theory, Standard and Procedures, Academic, Confined and Open Water presentations and a Rescue Assessment. 4

Sairee Cottage Master Scuba Diver Program: After completing the IDC, you can continue your dive education with the MSDT. Sairee Cottage Diving offers one of the best MSDT Programs out there. To achieve the full MSDT rating, you need to get 5 PADI specialty ratings and certify 25 students for any PADI course. You can get these 25 certifications by teaching independently after the MSDT course anywhere in the world, or you can join our Internship Program and achieve the 25 certifications very quickly (around 2 weeks). The full internship program can take 6 weeks if you want it to, which means that you will receive way more certifications on your CV increasing your chance of work significantly! Once you have achieved the 25 certifications you can then apply directly to PADI for the MSDT rating. In the mean time you are already allowed to teach the specialties. The Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating is highly recommended as it will increase your chances of employment, and you have more options to teach different PADI courses which will only increase your salary. To qualify for the MSDT Program, you'll need to: Be a certified PADI OWSI Instructor or have completed the PADI Instructor Exam (IE) The Master Scuba Diver Trainer Program (MSDT) takes 6 days (without the 25 diver certifications).
