Leila G. Davis Elementary Page 3 of 7 Media Center News The Media Center continues to be a busy place in the school. We have circulated over 3,500 books this month in the media center! That is A LOT of books that students have checked out to read. But it is also A LOT of books that need to be re-shelved and get back where they belong in the media center! If you have time to spare we could use your help in the library. If you are coming to eat lunch with your child or volunteer in the classroom please consider stopping by and helping us out. Even if you only have 20 or 30 minutes a week to spare we could use your help. Please email Mrs. Scott scottsha@pcsb.org with any questions or stop by the media center the next time you are here. Headphones Needed School wide At the beginning of the year, many of you sent in personal headphones or ear buds for your child to use in the classroom. Please ask your child if their headphones/ear buds are still working, and if not, please replace them. If you would like to make a donation to our school in the form of headphones, it would be GREATLY appreciated. There are several programs we use regularly that require the volume to be on loud enough for students to hear the content and this is quite distracting to others when headphones are not available. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide! Join our Email List! If you have not already done so, please visit our school website at http://www.davises.pinellas.k12.fl.us/ and click on Join the LGD Email List to receive valuable and up-to-date information on all the happenings here at Davis. Attention 3 rd, 4 th, and 5 th Graders: The Leila Davis Battle of the Books is right around the corner! The qualifying test for the Battle of the Books will be on Monday, March 7 th. Top scores from each grade level will make up our Battle of the Books Teams. The school Battle of the Books will be on April 11 th.

The PTA Page March 2016 Message from our President Hello Davis Families, Wow this year is flying by! We have packed a lot of great activities into this school year and the year is not over yet. Be sure to read over this newsletter for more great happenings coming up. Calling all 5 th grade parents.. we are busy planning the end of the year activities for our graduating 5 th graders. We are in need of donations to help fund the events. If you have not yet contributed to your class mom this year, please do so at this time. Also, we have several 5 th graders that will be going to Washington DC at the end of the school year. They have been busy fundraising to help pay for their trip expenses.
