Mael or Equestri an Centre maelorec.co.uk Gresford Rd Hope Flintshire LL12 9SD Maelor Equestrian Centre Presentation Evening Tel.07917562842 On Saturday 21 st January 2016 Maelor EC held their first ever Presentation Evening, with over 100 guests due to attend on the Evening, the Springfield Hotel in Halkyn was the place to be. The awards were based on points that the Members had gained at Maelor EC and Julia Lloyd was the lady to collate this information. Julia Lloyd and Stephen Hughes are the Resident Judges at Maelor and very much part of the Team. The Evening started with a Presentation of Awards, a buffet, followed by lots of dancing. The venue looked amazing thanks to Annie Lloyd, with pictures of all the regular competitors and some funny images of the Maelor Team on a PowerPoint Presentation on the big screen, this was on continuously during the Welcome Speech by Joanna Lloyd-Aylett and Presentation of Awards. Stephen Hughes was the Speaker of the Presentation and Alan Ward (Master Saddler) Presented the Awards to each prize winner. Team Awards Regular Maelor Competitors (North Wales) were recognised for their achievements within Team Competitions, 2 Teams won Gold for Wales and there were 2 Teams placed 4 th. The below Riders worked hard to be selected. The Junior Riders also had to gain NAF 5* Training to be eligible for selection. Area 19 Senior Team Riders were recognised for their achievements. Ellie Koscinska (Wales) Emily Cumming (Wales) Katie McNamara (Wales) Jac McGuigan (Wales) Ffion Roberts (Wales) Eiddwen Hughes (Area 19) Sandra Zachory (Area 19) Special Award One competitor was selected for a Special Award (to add a bit of comedy and to recognise their achievements) this year a Junior Member was selected. The award was presented by Emily Cumming on behalf of the 2016 Junior Riders & Maelor EC. Ffion Roberts received this award for her performance this year. Ffion was part of the 148 Debut Team and the 148 Team, both Teams won Gold. Ffion had also qualified both Home Produced Ponies for HOYS in the Pony Newcomer and Foxhunter, gaining placings with both, in both finals.

First, Second and Third prizes were generously donated by Alan Ward, there were also fantastic prizes donated by NAF, and a feed supplement donated by Feedmark. The Medals for the Team Awards were donated by Teganlee Stud, all other prizes were purchased by Maelor EC. Both Senior and Junior First Place won a Schockemohle Bridle, Second Place won a Schockemohle Saddlecloth with matching Fly Veil.

At the end of the Presentation of Awards Stephen Hughes announced that the buffet was open, Kelly Boyd stopped Stephen and asked to do her own Presentation. Kelly then presented a bouquet of flowers to Joanna Lloyd-Aylett, Danielle Hughes and Beccy Worrall on behalf of all the competitors, an extremely touching gesture. Pictured below left to right Joanna Lloyd-Aylett (Maelor Owner), Julia Lloyd (Area 19 Judge), Stephen Hughes (Area 19 Judge), Danielle Hughes (Maelor BS Organiser) and Beccy Worrall (Members Council Rep for Wales and Maelor BS Organiser) Annie Lloyd (Maelor Owner) should have been in on the Team photograph, but we believe we lost her to the buffet or bar. Denise Parry being presented with her award. Following the Presentation of Awards, the buffet was then open. The food was fantastic, plenty of it and a cake made by BS Member Sophie Leach.

The party was now in full swing, with lots of people on the dance floor enjoying themselves. We captured some of our favourite moments. We can t wait for next year! We can t thank everyone enough for attending and making the evening fun.

We look forward to seeing you all again in 2017. Here s to yet another successful year & making great memories with friends!
