Convention Delegate Report Tulsa, OK November 16-19, 2016 Kathie Hart and Velma Boodt attended as delegates for the 2016 AHA Convention. There were 381 eligible delegates. Of those, 259 delegates were credentialed. The finances of AHA are in better shape this year than last year. The cash flow is in a break even state. A review of the investments for AHA shows that the overall interest income is an average of 1.67%. This was a good year for the National shows. The Distance ride at Vinita included the Appaloosas. Next year it may include the Paso Finos. At Central Park, the Arabians were the only Breed specific show. Breedings have slowed the downward trend. The October numbers were slightly up. The middle price horse is more marketable now, according to Bill Addis. Modern Arabian Horse magazine is being replaced by the Arabian Horse Life beginning in 2017 and will be sent to all members. The member section of the AHA website will be down from 11/30-12/6 while it is upgraded. If actions need to be taken, then contact AHA. Resolutions: 15 presented, 12 were approved, 3 withdrawn All the resolutions were completed by Saturday morning session. Table of resolutions attached with dispositions Elections: President Nancy Harvey, Vice President Deborah Johnson, Treasurer Bob Nash, Secretary Jan Decker Other elections are located on the AHA website. Region Level Volunteer Service Awards for Region 9 Rebecca Nash Karlan Downing Patti Colbert was a fantastic speaker. She is from Texas and has driven the Time to Ride program, among others. The 2017 convention will be held in Denver at the Marriott Tech Center. The 2018/2019 conventions will be held in Tulsa at the Hyatt Regency. The room rates in Tulsa are locked in at $99/night.
