Edgewood Senior Center On Friday the Center had a Memorial Service for Al Arnold who is one of our dear members. Mr. Arnold passed away on Wednesday. The members wanted to show their respect to him and his family. We invited everyone to come on Friday at Lunch time for a Memorial Service for the family. There were around 40 people that came out to pay their respect, and everyone brought food with them. We had three tables of all kinds of good food and dessert. Brother Jack Kinley opened up a prayer and talked about Al s Life and all the funny things he used to say to everyone. Brother Donnie Cook came and sang some of Al s Favorite songs. Al s son was here from Florida and brought some pictures of Al over the years. It was a nice service with everyone was celebrating his life and remembering the times we had with him here at the center.

Boxwood Recreation Center In the month of February kids from the Boxwood/Carver Heights Community celebrated Black History Month with a weekly game of Black History trivia, healthy snacks, and ended each week with a friendly game of soccer. In addition, Boxwood Recreation Center opened the month of March by Observing Dr. Seuss' Birthday (March 2), hosting a week of, " Reading with Dr. Seuss". Both programs were a huge success and the kids learned a lot about Black History and Dr. Seuss' not realizing that they spent more time reading during the week.
