Fundraiser at Olga s Kitchen March 12 Easter Baskets will be distributed March 12 and 19 Those of us who attended the Dinner with a Heart Fundraiser enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Chef Ron Phillip of Ron s Roadside Barbeque in Ann Arbor. Ron has a lifelong love of food and food production having grown up in his father s business, Romanoff s Catering. His educational pursuits took him to culinary school in France and then for 14 years at leading restaurants in New York City. When Ron s Father Roman died seven years ago, Ron was operating a restaurant on Long Island that specialized in barbeque and Cajun Creole cooking. He decided to take over the business and moved back to Michigan with his wife, Nancy, and children Monica, Chad and Natalie. As a longtime friend of Tony Gelardi of Simply Fresh Market in Brighton, Ron was thrilled to cooperate with Tony for the pantry s main fundraiser. Ron said that Tony sponsored the food which was prepared in Ron s kitchen. March 2016 Donor of the Month Chef Ron Phillip Volume 3, Issue 3 Because of his years of catering experience, Ron and his team brought the food to the American Spirit Center and finished preparation in the ovens on site. We can go anywhere he said, adding that he does a tremendous amount of catering. Whenever possible, he and his team cater the food for the CBS broadcast team during Big 10 Basketball events. This continues a tradition started by his father who catered sporting and alumni events for the University of Michigan as well as the U.S. Open and the Grand Prix of Detroit. Tony tries to give back by choosing a charitable event to cater every year. This all starts with one step, he said. I would like to feed the world. I had a great time and I can t think of a better cause. Ron s Roadside BBQ can be reached at 734-665-4967 or through his website at ronsroadsidebbq.com.

Volume 3 Issue 3 Page 3 Catching Up With Yvonne February went so fast that I feel like I need to put my Christmas decorations back out because it is coming fast. WOW Bountiful Harvest is Five Years Old. Unbelievable. I could take all day to thank all the people who work so hard to make it run. And it does run efficiently because of them. The businesses in Brighton have been very generous as well. Truly it is God showing us He takes care of His own. Our Dinner With A Heart went over the top this year as a fundraiser. The American Spirit Centre was a wonderful venue for the event. We seated and fed 201 guests. Check out our website this month for pictures. www.bountifulharvest-mi.org We are excited to be able to provide Easter Baskets this year for the pantry children. Baskets will be distributed March 12 and 19. Our Fourth Annual Garage Sale on May 19, 20 and 21. Watch for news from Shannon. We look forward to celebrating out 5 th Anniversary in March. Thank you again to all our volunteers and donors who make this mission possible. God Bless You and Keep You Yvonne Cavalli Bountiful Harvest 810-360-0271 If you would like to volunteer. Most people don t realize what goes in to getting the pantry ready for our shoppers. We rely completely on volunteers no one is paid and very often we could use an extra pair of hands or two. If you have a few hours and you would like to help your neighbors, call Yvonne at 810-360-0271. is Volunteer Spotlight Volunteer Marion Glynn can be found sorting clothes, stocking pantry shelves, helping in the kitchen or organizing the shelves of personal care items behind the pantry check out table. Marion knew Pantry Director Yvonne Cavalli so she started helping out at Bountiful Harvest Pantry for more than four years. I love working with the people she says. I have met the nicest people and like giving back. I especially like to see the happy faces on the children when they find new clothes, a toy or a book. Marion has lived in Howell since 1999, She has four children three boys and one girl 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two more on the way. Before retiring, Marion worked for an eye doctor in Detroit and as a secretary for Metropolitan Life and Oakland Livingston Human Service Center. She now loves spending time with her children and great grandchildren and looks forward to seeing all of them at Christmas. She also works zigsaw puzzles and is a member of St. Agnes Church in Fowlerville.

Page 4 Olga s Kitchen Fundraiser is March 12 The Eat to Feed fundraiser for Bountiful Harvest Pantry is March 12 at Olga s Kitchen, 8485 West Grand River Avenue in the Brighton Mall. Go in anytime that day and the restaurant is donating a percentage of their proceeds for that day. When you start your spring cleaning, keep us in mind. We will begin collecting items in mid-april. We could also use some volunteers to help with set up and clean up. If you can donate your time please let me know. So forget cooking and go to Olga s, enjoy a delicious meal and know you are also helping out the panty. No coupon or flyer need to be presented. Looking down the road our annual garage sale fundraiser is coming up May 18, 19 and 20 in front of the garage at St. George Lutheran Church, 803 West Main Street near downtown Brighton. Thanks for all your continued support! If anyone has any great fundraiser ideas, wants to volunteer or wants to sponsor a fundraiser for Bountiful Harvest, please contact Shannon Egenolf at 248-342-2131. Chez Vonz Clothing Pantry Is Looking Forward to Easter In the month of February clients have been choosing warm clothes such as: hoodies, fleece jackets and sweatshirts. We have been able to provide for the increase in the need for warm clothing. On February 13 th there were a few Valentine items for clients to choose from. They were very excited. We had red and heart headbands, valentine socks, gift cards and even a couple pair of pajama. To those who donated these items we want to send you out a big Thank You. As it gets closer to Easter, I hope to have a table of Easter items for clients to choose from. If you have any Easter items you are planning to discard, please remember us. As always we are always in need of slightly used clothing for men, women and children. Have a great month! MichelleBenser Manager Chez Vonz Clothing Pantry Bountiful Harvest s mission is to stamp out hunger in the Brighton area and Livingston County. This is being accomplished through food drives, donations from businesses in Brighton, monetary and food donations from church members, and collaborations with area churches and schools, OLHSA and purchasing low cost food from Gleaners Community Food Bank. Bountiful Harvest is a client choice pantry. We are a member of the Livingston County Hunger Council and are partnered with OLHSA, Gleaners Community Food Bank and Love, Inc. There is a Resource Navigator available to help families with such needs as applying for a Bridge Card and getting help with dental, vision and medical needs.

Volume 3 Issue Page 5 Our Fifth Annual Dinner with a Our annual fundraising dinner was a wonderful success and a fun evening for everyone who attended. The stunning centerpieces, aptly featuring food cans, were donated by Four Seasons Florist in Brighton. Bountiful Harvest Pantry Director Yvonne Cavalli took advantage of a break in the music to greet DJ Manny (photo above right) and later said hello to Sheri Circe (photo right), secretary of the Pantry Board of Directors. The ingenious centerpieces created and donated by Four Season Florist (photo above, left) perfectly reflected the mission of Bountiful Harvest. The wonderful room decorations were donated by Emily Baughn and her committee. Pantry Board member Beth Dhue and her father, Paul, enjoy appetizers. Local merchants were once again very generous in donating items for the silent auction (right). Fairytale Productions returned with its Photo Booth (left) and props.
