Adrian Valerio crossed on a sac fly in the first, Clark Eagan scored from third on an error in the second and Hunter Owen hit a solo home run in the third for the early run support. Spot starter Mike Wallace made the advantage stick, working seven innings of five-hit ball. The right-hander struck out four before passing control to Matt Anderson, who pitched the final two innings for his first professional save. The Power added one more run in the ninth. Wallace notched the win and Raffi Vizcaino took the loss after allowing three runs before being ejected after Owen s home run. C MON SEVEN: Wednesday s game marked just the second time this season that a Power starting pitcher worked seven into and through seven complete innings. South Atlantic League All-Star Cam Vieaux worked seven complete innings on June 3 against Rome, taking a loss after allowing four runs while throwing a season-high 90 pitches. The GreenJackets lead the all-time series 38-35 and hold a 27-18 lead over the Power at their home park, which will close after the 2017 season. West Virginia and Augusta meet for two series during the second half. After this set, the Power will host the GreenJackets from July 12-14. The Jackets are scheduled to move to a new stadium currently under construction in North Augusta (which is located in South Carolina) at the start of the 2018 season. West Virginia also shutout the Charleston RiverDogs on June 1 and were the last team in the league to shutout an opponent this season. Starting on Tuesday in Lexington, West Virginia will start a stretch of ten consecutive games against the Southern Division. In July, the Power play a total of 28 games and half the games will be in the division. POWER POINTS: Eduardo Vera s six shutout innings on Monday were his first-ever quality start. It was also the longest outing of his career, spanning 69 games and 24 starts... Kevin Mahala went hitless on Wednesday and saw his seven-game hitting streak snapped...
