4. FIRST AID MEASURES Inhalation Ingestion Skin Eyes If inhaled remove victim to fresh air. Apply CPR if victim is not breathing. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult. Remove contaminated clothing and loosen remaining clothing. Allow patient to assume most comfortable position and keep warm. Seek immediate medical attention. Immediately rinse mouth with water. If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. Give a glass of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek immediate medical attention. If skin or hair contact occurs, immediately remove contaminated clothing and wash skin and hair with running water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if swelling, redness, blistering or irritation occurs. If in eyes, hold eyelids apart and flush the eye continuously with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek immediate medical attention. 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Suitable Extinguishing Media Hazardous Combustion Products Firefighting Equipment Unusual Fire or Explosion Hazards Hazchem Code For major fires call the Fire Brigade. Ensure that an escape path is available from any fire. Water spray (flooding quantities). Decomposes on contact with water evolving toxic chlorine gas. Wear Safe Work Australia approved self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing. Not combustible. However will support the combustion of other materials like wood, paper or clothing. May react explosively with hydrocarbons (fuels). Containers may explode when heated. Runoff may create fire or explosion hazard. May decompose with explosion when heated or involved in fire. 1W 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE Spills Dry spill: Use clean non-sparking tools to transfer material to a clean, dry plastic container and cover loosely. Move container from spill area. Small liquid spill: Use a non-combustible material like vermiculite, sand or earth to soak up the product and place in a loosely-covered container for later disposal. Large liquid spill: Seek expert advice on handling and disposal. 14/06/2012 2/6

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling Storage Wear protective clothing. Avoid breathing dust and skin and eye contact while handling the product. Wash exposed areas with soap and water. Ensure good industrial hygiene practice. Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place and out of direct sunlight. Keep containers sealed and dry material reacts with water. Store away from incompatible materials. Keep containers closed when not in use. 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION Exposure Standards (Safe Work Australia) Engineering Controls Respiratory Protection Eye Protection Skin Protection Hygienic Practices Chlorine: TWA: 1 ppm / 3 Peak limitation STEL: - ppm / - mg/m 3 Use local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to maintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits. Controls should be sufficient so that applicable occupational exposure limits are not exceeded. If engineering controls do not maintain airborne concentrations below recommended exposure limits, use a Safe Work Australia approved full face supplied air respirator. See Australian Standards AS/NZS 1715 and 1716 for more information. Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles) and a face shield. See Australian Standards AS 1336 and AS/NZS 1337 for more information. Wear protective gloves and protective clothing appropriate for the risk of exposure.
