"ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS THROUGH QUALITY PRODUCTS" H. A. KING MEETING YOUR VIBRATION CONTROL NEEDS

HISTORY The H.A. King Company has provided design, consulting and manufacturing services for rubber bonded to metal products for over 50 years. These products have provided solutions for vibration, shock and noise problems for many industry applications. PRODUCTS H.A. King Company was originally founded to provide design services and the manufacture of rubber to metal engine mounting components and special torsional crankshaft vibration dampers. We have now expanded our activities to include many special rubber to metal isolators to solve problems in many stationary and non vehicular applications. CAPABILITY At H.A. King Company, we specialize in rubber to metal bonded products. These are used to solve any vibration control applications. This means our products are engineered to meet rigid specifications required by a particular application. Part of our capability is that we utilize the flexibility of out-sourcing many of our individual components: RUBBER COMPOUNDING: Rather than being limited to some in house rubber compounding methods, we are free to solicit the most up-to-date processes used by the industries leading rubber compounders. This affords you, the customer, the best of both worlds competitive pricing and the latest "state-of-the-art,"' rubber compounding. METAL FABRICATING: we also utilize out-sourcing for the necessary metal stamping used in our products. Again, this allows us to review and purchase the most competitive unit from a price and quality stand point that is available in the industry. H.A. King Company then processes and assembles these parts into quality isolators, engine mounts and other specialized rubber parts. SUMMARY When you have any problems that are related to vibration, shock or noise control, H.A. King has the capability to provide you with high quality rubber to metal isolators, engine mounts and/or specialized rubber parts. Please give us a call: (248) 280-0006 or Contact us at: www.ha-king.com 1

ELASTOMER SELECTION GUIDE The selection of elastomers is an important and crucial step in isolator design. In compounding elastomers for isolator use, the objectives are to produce 1) mechanical properties that fulfill service and performance requirements, 2) processing characteristics that can be used with existing tooling and equipment, and 3) an elastomer with satisfactory properties that is low in cost. It is important to define all the service conditions and limits thoroughly when selecting the elastomer that best suits the application. These include operating temperatures, environmental conditions (exposure to chemicals and other contaminants) and performance requirements such as load capacity and response to dynamic inputs. Unless the performance and environmental requirements are particularly stringent, the most cost effective choice would be to use a standard elastomer. H.A. King utilizes these compounds as standards that meet the majority of application requirements. 1000 SERIES ISOLATORS CYLINDRICAL MOUNTS H.A. King's Cylindrical Mounts are a family of elastomeric isolators or protection of equipment an machinery against damaging vibration and shock inputs. Cylindrical mounts are constructed of a resilient elastomeric element bonded between two metal isolation system. The small, yet rugged, design and the vast range of sizes and configurations make the Cylindrical Mounts an ideal choice for a wide range of applications. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS Compressors Computers Engine Generator Sets Pumps Electronic Units Motorcycles Blowers Relays Small Tillers & Tampers Fans Timing Devices Garden Tractors & Mowers Motors Control Panels Plant Machinery Air Conditioning Equip. Business Machines Vibratory Feeders FEATURES Reduce transmitted vibration from reciprocating or rotating equipment Prevent transmission of structure-borne noise Prevent damage to sensitive equipment from vibration and shock Can be loaded in compression or shear Available in a wide range of styles, sizes and load ranges 4

2000 SERIES ISOLATORS CENTER BOLTED MOUNTS H.A. King's Center-Bolted Mounts isolate vibrations, control shock and reduce noise due to structure-borne vibrations. The one piece design, in which a resilient elastomer is bonded to a tubular steel inner member, assures proper installation of the mount and improved fatigue life over unbonded designs. Standard elastomer is natural rubber. Neoprene elastomer is also available. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS Engine/Transmissions Compressors Generators Cabs Pumps Accessory Equipment Radiators Fuel Tanks Industrial Machinery FEATURES Efficiently isolates vibration Attenuates shock inputs Prevent transmission of structure-borne noise Dynamically effective in all directions Built-in rebound protection Long service life Low cost installation 27

ENGINE MOUNTING FOR VIBRATION AND NOISE CONTROL The engine is one of the major causes of vibrational disturbances in an on-or-off-highway vehicle. The onor-off-highway vehicle, being a complex network of structural members and mechanical, electrical and electronic components, is very susceptible to the damaging effects of vibrational disturbances. Isolating the engine can help to eliminate these damaging inputs. An engine coupled directly to a support structure has a direct path for the transmission of vibration and noise. These vibrational and noise inputs are damaging to the structure and equipment of the cab and create a poor environment for the operator. Other mechanical, electrical and electronic components within the vehicle can also suffer a loss in operation efficiencies and service life due to these inputs. The use of a properly designed resilient element to mount the engine to the support structure will reduce the transmitted vibrations and sever the noise paths. This resilient coupling results in a smoother and quieter environment for the operator. Additional benefits are added fatigue life for components, accessories and structural fasteners. The information required of the designer is simply a description of the engine and its operating characteristics. With only the information obtained from the analysis form presented on the reverse, the H.A. king design team can make isolator recommendations to solve even the most troublesome engine isolation projects. OPERATOR CAB MOUNTING FOR VIBRATION AND NOISE CONTROL Vibration and shock inputs to cab of a heavy-duty vehicle can come from various sources. One of the primary vibration sources is the engine Other sources are highway and off-highway vibration and shock inputs which reduce operator efficiency while the vehicle is in motion. These multi-source inputs are also damaging to the structure and equipment in the cab. Instruments and electronic components can suffer a loss in operation efficiencies and service life due to these dynamic inputs. The use of a resilient element to couple the cab to the frame provides a method to isolate vibration and reduce noise. This resilient coupling results in a smoother and quieter operating environment. The information required of the designer is simply a description of the cab's design and performance goals. With only the information obtained below, the H. A. king design team can make one or more isolation system recommendations to improve the operating environment and extend the service life of the cab's components.
