Wivelsden Cross Country Course - 2013 Wivelsden Farm, North Common Road, Chailey, Lewes, BN8 4EH There are fences of various heights, from 1ft6 to 3ft3, available and the course will be re-arranged this year to provide different challenges. The sessions are all weather dependent so please check the website (http://branches.pcuk.org/southdowneast) nearer the time for updates. All sessions MUST be booked in advance. The course will be open on the following dates to book an activity of your choice All dates for 2013 have passed, dates for 2014 will be announced online when known. The Southdown East Pony Club will be arranging rallies for members on other dates. Please see the Programme online for details. Fees SDHE Rallies: the cost is 7.50 or 12.50 per member depending on the length of the rally. Schooling sessions: the cost is 15 per pony/horse for SDHE members and 20 for others. You MUST provide your own first aid cover and instructor. I can provide a list of instructors who are used by SDHE and who are first aid trained if you need one. Clear round sessions: the cost is 10 per round for SDHE members and 15 for others. SDHE provide the first aid cover on these days. You are welcome to go round in pairs if you want, and can choose which course on the day. Dressage - D level test 2012 (Walk and Trot) Show Jumping - 1 3 Cross country - 1-1 3 This will follow a shortened route over our new course of friendly, dinky fences. CLASS 2: - verbal encouragement allowed but not to be led. Dressage - D level test 2012 (Walk and Trot) Show Jumping - 1 9 Cross Country - 1 9 This will run over our new course of friendly, dinky fences. CLASS 3: Dressage - Pony Club Introductory Test 2007 Show Jumping - 2 Cross Country - 2 This will be run over our existing smallest course. CLASS 4: Dressage - Pony Club Introductory Test 2007 Show Jumping - 2 3 Cross Country - 2 3 DRESSAGE TESTS MAY BE COMMANDED IN ALL CLASSES ENTRY FEE: Class 1-20, Classes 2-4 - 25 (to include First Aid) ROSETTES TO 8 TH PLACE AND SASH TO WINNER IN ALL CLASSES. ONE DAY EVENTS RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. The judges decision is final. 2. No claim can be entertained by the organisers for any injury, loss or damage caused to, or suffered by, any horse, pony, competitor, onlooker, attendant or other person, vehicle or any property in connection with or arising from this event, whether or not said injury, loss or damage is caused by the negligence of the organisers, their servants or agents. 3. The organisers reserve the right to alter the timing of the phases. They also reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason and to divide or alter classes as necessary. 4. This event is run under Pony Club Eventing Rules 2013. 5. No horse or pony under 4 years of age may be ridden. 6. No horse/pony may compete in more than one class. 7. Correct dress must be worn at all times. Riding hats, with chinstrap fastened, must be worn when mounted. They must conform to Pony Club regulations., PC members hats must be tagged. Long sleeves, body protectors and medical armbands are compulsory for the cross-country phase. In the interests of safety, the organisers reserve the right to eliminate any competitor who breaches these rules. 8. There will be no refund of entry unless a Doctor s or Vet s certificate is produced. If the event is cancelled, 3 from the entry fee will be retained for administrative expenses and the balance will be refunded only on receipt of an s.a.e. within 10 days of the event. Entries will be strictly limited in each class. 9. Objections, if any, can be lodged only by a competitor or by a competitor s parent or guardian. The objection must be in writing and accompanied by a deposit of 20 within half-an-hour of the occurrence which gave rise to it or, where the eligibility of a competitor is concerned, not after the finish of the class. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is over-ruled. 10. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED AT WIVELSDEN FARM. 11. Pony Club members who have not yet attained their B Test may wear spurs only on production of written permission from their District Commissioner. 12. The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these precautions to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable care to avoid accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards. 13. No outside assistance is allowed at any time. 14. Any competitor having three refusals at a cross-country fence may continue but must give way to other competitors. Riders must also give way when being overtaken. 15. Hat and jacket should be worn at Prizegiving. 5

Margaret Sheffield Memorial Fund The late Margaret Sheffield was District Commissioner of the Southdown Hunt East branch for 24 years, based at Woodley House, South Road, Wivelsfield Green, after joining the committee in 1972. To keep alive the work she did for young people the Fund was established in 2001 and is a registered charity. The Fund has limited resources which are used to help distressed children (many from broken homes) regain their self confidence through horse riding or association with horses and ponies. Donations to MSMF, Woodley House, South Road, Wivelsfield Green, RH17 7QS will be gratefully received and will be used to give other youngsters a helping hand.
