Wessex TREC Club affiliated to TREC GB Arena TREC Winter Series 2017 2018 at Wickstead Farm Equestrian Centre, SN6 7PP by kind permission of Vicki Mace on Sunday 22 nd October 2017 All classes are open to both members and non-members of Wessex TREC and TREC GB, but only the scores of paid-up members of TREC GB will count towards the Winter League. Class 1. Starters Open to any Rider who has not completed an Arena TREC class prior to 1st October 2017. There will be no Control of Paces. Riders may be assisted. Class 2. NOVICE HORSE Open to Horses that have not been placed 1 st in two or more NEWCOMER classes, or one INTERMEDIATE. or one OPEN class, in Winter Series TREC Competitions prior to 1st October 2017. PTV obstacles equivalent to Level 1. Class 3. NOVICE RIDER Open to Riders who have not been placed 1st in two or more NEWCOMER classes, or one INTERMEDIATE, or one OPEN class, in Winter Series TREC Competitions prior to 1st October 2017. PTV obstacles equivalent to Level 1. Class 4. INTERMEDIATE Horse+Rider combination not to have been placed 1 st in two or more INTERMEDIATE classes, or one OPEN class, in Winter Series TREC competitions prior to 1st October 2016. PTV obstacles equivalent to Level 2/3.

Class 5. OPEN Open to all horses and riders. PTV obstacles equivalent to Level 3/4 Class 6. Top Score Unaffiliated Open to all horses and riders. There will be no Control of Paces. Riders will be set a time limit, and will ride the course of obstacles once, then in any remaining time, will ride their own selection of obstacles, in the correct direction, with the aim of gaining as high a score as possible. Four obstacles must be completed before any is re-ridden. Only obstacles completed without fault will count towards the rider s score; i.e. Bending, if ridden perfectly in trot, would score 7. Corridor, if ridden in canter, but with one touched pole, would not count towards the rider s score. A joker, doubling the score of that obstacle, may be included. In the event of a tie, a rider scoring over the fewer number of obstacles will be placed higher than a rider with the same score gained over a greater number of obstacles. Classes (excluding 1& 6) include two timed phases, Control of Paces (MA) and Obstacles (PTV) The MA takes place over 50m to 150m. Each pace will be awarded 50% of the points accrued via the sliding scale look up tables, i.e. the maximum score for each pace will be 15. The PTV course of ten obstacles is simulated to represent those you might meet out hacking, and is designed to test riding skills, the training of your horse and the accord between you. Results from each of the affiliated classes excluding 1 & 6 of paid up members of TREC GB will count towards the national Winter Leagues. League points will be awarded depending on finishing position in the class: 10 points for 1st down to 1 point for 10th place. A competitor s four highest points will be counted for the League. In the event of equal positions, total actual PTV scores (from all those 4 events) will be taken into account. Entries close: Tuesday 16 th October 2017 or when classes are full if sooner
