CIAAA National Conference Regina April 19-21, 2018 The CIAAA, in partnership with SIAAA and SHSAA, and with thanks to our major conference sponsor Sportfactor, we are excited to announce our 3rd Annual National Athletic Directors Conference, running April 19-21, 2018 at the Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina, Saskatchewan. The CIAAA National Athletic Directors Conference offers a mixture of content, networking, and social opportunities combining for a dynamic, customizable, Athletic- Director centered professional development experience. The conference will feature 10 Leadership Training Program courses (including the launch of a brand new course), 17 exciting workshop topics to choose from, a conference banquet/keynote address, vendor trade show and an offsite social. The pricing model for the conference has changed to include all meals throughout the conference and the cost of one Leadership Training Program course. We are also offering member discounts for anyone taking three or four LTP courses. ACTIVITY INFORMATION Provincial Playoff information for 2018 Curling, Wrestling, Basketball, Badminton and Track & Field has been updated on each of the corresponding activity pages on the website. BIDS TO HOST A number of championships for the 2018-19 school year were declared OPEN at the Presidents meeting. The Executive Council has requested that bids to host for these championships be submitted to the SHSAA office by April 11, 2018. The championships that have been declared open are 1A Boys Soccer, 3A Boys Soccer and 2A Girls Volleyball. REMINDER Please use the message board to post any tournament results that are happening around the province. Contact the SHSAA office if you would like to set up an account. BASKETBALL SEEDING FORMS are due February 28, 2018. SHSAA will seed all conference and regional tournaments based on submitted results. COACHES SYMPOSIUM August 21-22, 2018 The SHSAA Coaches Symposium will be held Tuesday, August 21 & Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in Saskatoon. The Symposium is an excellent opportunity for coaches of different activities to gather in one location to participate in a professional development opportunity that will enhance the extra-curricular experience of the student athletes around the province.
YOUTH OFFICIALS CONFERNCE The SHSAA is once again hoping to offer the Youth Officials Conference. The inaugural conference was held in June 2016. The 2018 conference will once again occur in June. The organizing committee continues the planning for the event and each district will be provided with a complete information package in the next few weeks. SPORT ADVISORY GROUPS The members for the Sport Advisory Groups in the 2017-18 school year has been finalized. Some groups have been very active so far and others are just getting started. Please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas with members of the Advisory Groups, each of which is chaired by an Executive Council member. REGIONAL & PROVINCIAL WRESTLING Regional Wrestling will be held March 3, 2018 in Swift Current. Provincial Wrestling will be March 9 & 10, 2018 in Saskatoon. REGIONAL & PROVINCIAL CURLING Regional Curling will be held March 2 & 3, 2018. Provincial Curling will be March 9 & 10, 2018.
