Thanks to the Speedsters and their fabulous sound, the dance floor was pumping. Some have said they were loud and that was true at first because the soft furnishings have been removed and replaced with blinds which has changed the acoustics of the hall they did adjust their level and all was good. WELL DONE SPEEDSTERS!! To all the members and friends of GJBR that are travelling up North to the warmer weather, have a safe and happy holiday and we look forward to hearing some great stories when you return. This block of lessons has almost finished and ready to start a new block, tell your friends to come and join in the fun. A big thanks to Celia and Richard for their excellent teaching and for the fun they put into dancing. The Bunnings sausage sizzle was a great success with lots of hungry shoppers. The vinyl floor worked very well, a big thankyou to Chris and Peter Rhodes for the lend of it. We raised a tidy sum for our charity Geelong Mums. Lots of people came to help and dance so thanks to you all very much. I would also like to thank all those wonderful people that turn up to our Demo's 10 times so far this year, you make it such a fun time for the aged people and young ones we entertain. The Seaview dance Turn Back Time was a great night again dancing to the Speedsters, the dress ups where fabulous. There was Servicemen and women Army and Navy, Gangsters, Flappers, Hippies and Rock n Rollers and even a Charlie Chaplin. A great supper so thanks to all that helped. The sole Sisters Swing did a floor show singing some Andrew sisters songs, it was very good and a great night was had by all. It was good to see lots of our members there, we should support all the Rock n Roll dances we can while we can. See you all at our June dance with Jump'n Jive. " Keep on Rockin" Cheers, Cass

FOR THE COMFORT AND ENJOYMENT OF ALL DANCERS PLEASE REFRAIN FROM PARTICIPATING IN JUMPS LIFTS AND THROWS AT OUR DANCES. REMINDER BOOKING PLEASE! PLEASE! Please book in to our dances to avoid embarrassment and angst at the door. It does become quite hectic at the door when there is a line-up of people and we try and fit someone in who hasn t booked. If you have not booked you may be asked to go to the back of the line to let others who have booked go through until we can find you a seat. Late bookings cannot be guaranteed you will be able to sit with your friends. Similarly, if you have booked in and can t come for some reason please let us know so we can re-arrange seats. It is very embarrassing when people are squashed in and a table is vacant when people have not turned up and not bothered to let us know. We try our best to accommodate everyone but sometimes this is not possible and we are only human after all. You can send a text message or leave a message on the phone for your booking.
