INTRODUCTION The British Association of Cleaning in Higher Education (BACHE) was established in 2004 with funding from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). The Association is one of eleven organisations forming the Higher Education Estates Forum Association (HEEFA) that has a remit associated with Estates and Facilities Management in higher education. Specifically, BACHE provides a forum for cleaning operatives, supervisors and managers and is the primary association providing support for cleaning and associated services within the Higher Education sector. The Association currently has 67 member institutions from across the United Kingdom and Ireland. BACHE aims to standardise training for cleaning staff (in higher education institutions), recognising the importance of professional cleaning activities. BACHE helps further and higher educational institutions to network and share best practices and cleaning processes thereby achieving the ultimate aim of improving cleaning standards and professionalism across campuses. One aspect of the Associations work is to host an annual conference each year, thus, providing an opportunity for its members to network and to attend a range of workshops and keynote sessions. Running parallel to the conference is a Suppliers Exhibition providing the Associations members with the opportunity to see and discuss with selected companies opportunities for business now or in the future. Our members are interested in your products and services and many are attending the conference to do business. A recent survey of just over one third of UK students said they rejected certain institutions because of the quality of their buildings, facilities or physical environment. Furthermore, the survey asked students to choose their top three priorities for investing money, if they were given charge of their university s finances. Whilst largely feeling enough is spent on existing buildings, if funds could only be spent on university buildings and facilities, 20% would like to see more spent on cleaning with this figure increasing to 32% in London. The contribution, cleaning service teams make therefore is crucial and the products, equipment and services you offer, are paramount in supporting our members. On behalf of the BACHE, I would like to invite you to exhibit at our 2016 Conference which will be hosted by Sheffield Hallam University from 26 to 28 June 2016. The Conference theme will be "Cleaning and Associated Services Supporting the Core Business. The conference will provide your company/association with a unique opportunity to liaise with front-line supervisors and managers responsible for the delivery of cleaning and associated services in the education sector within an informal setting. The exhibition area will be the focal point of the conference where delegates will meet between conference sessions and where all refreshments will be served, creating an effective and efficient opportunity for delegates to be exposed to your company s products and services. By attending this conference your company 1

representatives will have the opportunity to meet and speak with 70-80 delegates during the conference; launch and demonstrate new products and services; promote your company and brands; obtain feedback and conduct market research; generate sales leads; position your company as a market leader; penetrate the educational market and network with new and existing clients. In support of the latter your company representatives are invited to participate in our social evening at the Novotel on Sunday 26 June 2016 and attend our Gala Dinner in the Cutlers Hall Sheffield on Monday 27 June 2016 thus, providing you with further opportunities to interact with the Associations members. Attending this conference will provide your company/association with an insight into the latest issues the Associations members are dealing with and solutions they are looking for. At the same time, you will have a captive audience and thus, the opportunity to promote your company s services, equipment, consumables, training and development opportunities and showcase the latest technology advancements emerging within the cleaning industry. Seeking out new business and connecting with the responsible person for the procurement of cleaning services, equipment and products etc. in a university or college can be time consuming. Why not get a head start and host an exhibitor stand at our Conference? Where else could you potentially meet up with so many new clients (or reacquaint yourself with existing clients) in two days? After all this is an important sector to be engaging with and an opportunity not to be missed. Because as confirmed by the Association of University Director of Estates 2014 Higher Education Estates Statistics report: In terms of size, UK universities occupy an area just shy of the NHS estate (30 million m2, 322 million sq ft) but more than two and a half times the Governments own estate (10 million m2, 107 million sq ft). University estates and facilities are accessed by 2.4 million members of the British population University sector has a turnover of 27.3 billion, spends 2bn (excluding residential) per annum University Sector Turnover Equivalent To Fourth Largest FTSE Company The higher educational sector is therefore a significant contributor to the wealth and prosperity of the UK economy and why would you not therefore want to be part of this? VENUE LOCATION AND TRAVEL DIRECTIONS Sheffield Hallam University city campus is located in Sheffield city centre, next to both the bus and train stations. All sponsorship packages include a single exhibition space of 3m x 2m. The exhibition will be held in the Heartspace Atrium where all the refreshment breaks will be served during the conference. The plan of the exhibition will be to encourage delegates to network within the exhibition area and to maximise exhibition time for the exhibitors. Please state your preferred exhibition stand number when completing your registration form. By car: Sheffield s motorway link is the M1, junctions 33 and 34. You are recommended to leave at junction 33 and proceed into the city centre by way of the Parkway (A630). The city campus is approximately ten minutes from junction 33 of the M1. Satellite navigation If you are using satellite navigation please use the postcode S1 4RF. To get directions to the city campus by car, please click here. By rail: Regular inter-city services operate between Sheffield and other main line towns and cities. London is two-and-a-half-hours away by train, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham one hour and Edinburgh four hours. Sheffield s Train Station is just a two minute walk away from the city campus. Overnight Accommodation Delegates and exhibitors attending the Conference will be accommodated in the Novotel Hotel, Sheffield Centre, within a two minute walk of the conference venue. The Novotel is a 4-star hotel located right in the city. The Notovel is a 4-star luxury hotel with stylish rooms that offer you the space to work or relax and there is also a heated indoor pool. The cost of overnight accommodation (including a hot buffet breakfast) for two nights (Sunday 26 June and Monday 27 June) for exhibitors has been included in some of our exhibitor packages. Check-in time at the hotel will be from 14:00 hours on Sunday 26 June 2016 with check-out by 12:00 hours on the day of departure. Gala Dinner Monday 27 June, 2016 Cutlers Hall Sheffield The famous Cutlers' Hall, a Grade II* listed building in Sheffield and the headquarters of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire, is the chosen venue to host the Annual Gala Dinner this year. EXHIBITOR PACKAGES AND SPONSORSHIP We would like to invite companies/associations to view the packages available below, some of which include sponsorship opportunities. Packages can be booked using the online registration form here. Note we can only accommodate up to 22 exhibitors at this conference thus, packages are offered on a first come, first served basis. Current availability will be displayed on the online registration form. The Association is open to companies/associations proposing alternative sponsorship packages for consideration. Platinum Sponsorship Packages Early Bird Registration Sponsorship Package For 2016, the BACHE will be offering an incentive to its members to register delegate places early by offering the opportunity to win up to 1,000 to be spent on either cleaning equipment for their University or College or to fund and/or contribute towards supporting staff training and development of their cleaning services team. Only those delegates who have registered by 22 April 2016 will be included in the prize draw to be drawn on the evening of Monday 27 June 2016. The BACHE is looking for preferably a supplier to offer equipment and/or access to staff development and training courses up to the value of 1,000 (VAT included) or to work in partnership with the Association whereby the value of the award could be split 50/50. EXHIBITION DETAILS Space Allocation The stands are sold as space only with a table and 2 chairs supplied. The exhibition will take place in the Heartspace Atrium (see Campus Map) on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 June 2016, where the conference workshops and day time catering will be taking place. Exhibition Hours Sunday 26 June Exhibition stands can be set up between 14:00 18:00 hours (by prior arrangement with the organisers). All stand spaces should be set up by 18:00. Monday 27 June 09.00 17.30 Tuesday 28 June 09.00 13.00 Exhibition Space Exhibition space is available as 3m x 2m. All sponsorship packages include a single exhibition space of 3m x 2m. The exhibition will be held in the Heartspace Atrium where all the refreshment breaks will be served during the conference. The plan of the exhibition will be to encourage delegates to network within the exhibition area and to maximise exhibition time for the exhibitors. Please state your preferred exhibition stand number when completing your registration form. Access and Set-up Exhibitors may set up time between 14:00 and 18.00 hours on Sunday 26 June 2016. PLEASE NOTE this may be arranged but only with advanced notification. Please contact Nicola.peel@hg3.co.uk in order to advise her of the time you wish to set up. Access will be available for exhibitors to set up. Access will also be available from 07:00 hors on Monday 27 June for exhibitors to set up. All exhibition stands must be set up in time for the commencement of the conference at 09:00 on Monday 27 June 2016. Breakdown may start after 12:30 on Tuesday 28 June 2016. The exhibition area must be completely cleared down and vacated by 16:00 hours. Loading Bay Access to the Heartspace Atrium is via the Goods Entrance. This is located on Surrey Lane, off Paternoster Row and runs parallel to Howard Street (pedestrianised) on the Campus Map. The best post code to use for sat nav is S1 2LW for the Howard Pub, Surrey Lane is then the next left after the pub. Porters will be on hand to help you unload your vehicle. You should move your car to the APCOA car park on Eyre Street after unloading to allow others access. If you are sending materials in advance these should be scheduled to arrive on Friday 24 June between 8:00 and 16:00, when the Goods Entrance is staffed. Please do not arrange for materials to be sent earlier than this as storage is limited. All packages should be clearly labelled with your company name, date of the event, name of the event and location of the exhibition. Car Parking Car parking is available in the APCOA car park on Eyre Street. You will receive a token when you enter the car park and this can be validated at any of our reception desks to receive discounted parking. Presently this is 4.00 per day. Cleaning Circulation space is cleaned daily. Exhibition spaces are not cleaned. Exhibitors are responsible for taking away all of their materials, after the event. Wi-Fi Complimentary Wi-fi will be provided to all exhibitors. 17
