New Clubrooms Update 2017 Berri Lions Club Calendar Results Congratulation to Michael Herrmann who was the winner of the most calendars sold with a whopping 38 calendars!! The club raised a total of $2,320 towards our new foam training pit. Well done everyone!! Berri Stadium Sponsorship Offer Gymnastics, Netball and Basketball families will soon have the chance to donate funds towards the Berri Stadium and have their names engraved on the panels to be permanently erected at the front of the building. Funds will be managed by the Berri Sports Stadium Committee to help pay for building insurance, cleaning, maintenance and on going costs for the Stadium as a whole. An information flyer will be sent out soon. Stadium Gardens We would like to thank the Bilske family for their donation of Kangaroo Paws for the surrounding gardens. Committee member Cherie Staples has been tending to them over the summer break. The club will hold a working bee to transfer them to the stadium and the leftover plants will be sold to raise funds for our equipment purchases. Building Site The outside footings are now complete and JMA have been busy welding up the framework with the first pieces delivered to the site in February. The building will start to take shape over the next couple of months with the framework going up, then the roof and walls before the inside footings, concrete flooring and foam training pit are poured. Keep an eye on our club website under About Us and New Clubrooms Project tabs for all the latest photos and information. Photo-Grant Schwartzkopff

Annual Working Bee 20 members took part in the clubs working bee in January. They cleaned the clubrooms from top to bottom and enjoyed a yummy lunch thanks to Big River Supermarket in Barmera. Thank you gymnasts, 20 Best Club Member (BCM) points coming your way!! Best Club Member How it works Volunteer to help the club (see list of jobs on the viewing room noticeboard). Points will be awarded at the end of each task. A running tally will be placed on the notice board in the viewing room and the club website at the beginning of terms 1, 2 & 3. The gymnast with the most points at the end of the year will be awarded Best Club Member. Awards are for both Junior (7-12yrs) & Senior (13-18yrs). Age groups as of 1st January that particular year. Winners will have their name engraved on the club trophy (to be returned after the Christmas break) and a replica trophy to keep. Have fun and good luck! Remember-Points become void if members do not follow the club rules and code of conduct. NB: Points are calculated from November (after Presentation Day) until the end of October the following year. This encourages members to participate in the summer break activities and also allows time for the trophies to be engraved. Aqua-batics 20 members of the Platinums and new Topaz acrobatics troupes dived into their pre-season training during February's heat to keep cool. The class is held at the Berri Swimming Pool each year.
