SCIENCE- 6th Grade Mr. Corah/Mr. Windmiller At the start of October 6th Grade Science students will be building rovers as part of our last project for our Nature of Science Unit. We will then start our next unit, Physical Science. As we study Physical Science, we will be working to answer the question How do matter and energy interact, transfer, and transform? We start by reviewing the basics of states of matter and will then move quickly to studying the motion of objects including creating graphs of their positions and velocity. October also brings with it the launch of our Science FAQ page on Canvas. Check it out on our page for information on how the various sections of the notebook work, how Canvas works, and what is available to help your students prepare for quizzes and tests. SOCIAL STUDIES- Mr. Kochert/Mr. Lochmueller Congratulations to many of the kids who have gotten off to a great start in the 1st quarter. Please remember to check the webpage for access to your student s grades and upcoming homework requirements. After studying the different cultures of the World, we moved to our next unit Government and Economics. The students had the opportunity to test their knowledge of the Stock Market through our Stock Market game. Looking forward to October we will be studying the ancient civilizations of the Maya, Aztec and Inca groups. 7th Grade KEYBOARDING & COMPUTER APPLICATIONS Mrs. Hipskind The Cyber Safety and MS Word units were completed in September and students are currently researching information on a geologic time period.
