SOCIAL MEDIA HELPS 1990 GRADUATE RECOVER LOST RING It all started last weekend when a Fort Wayne resident took to Facebook with the picture of an Elida 1990 class ring. All Amber Elizabeth knew was that the ring said Elida, Rhonda and Band. So she posted the picture and with the power of social media, the news spread like wildfire. Before long, only 20 hours, 303 likes, and 14 shares later, the owner, 1990 graduate Rhonda Scher had her ring back! She shared the following story of how she lost it just a year after graduating: Within three months of moving to Fort Wayne in 1991 my then fiancé, Chuck Scher, lost my ring. He thought he had left in his uniform pants that went to the cleaners never to be seen again. The person that found my ring, found it in a park that we had not been to. I have no idea how it ended up on that playground. She has had it in a jewelry box all these years. When I called them to go pick it up I found out that they live only a mile from us! We moved to our current home 6 years ago and they moved out here 3 years ago! For the 16 years we lived in our last house, we were less than a mile apart. Thank you Amber Elizabeth, Shanda, and Todd!! You really made my day! And thanks again to all of you who tracked me down! Rhonda Scher
