SPORTS INFORMATION GUIDE 1. Competition Dates Shooting competition for Asia Pacific Masters Games 2018 (APMG 2018) offers individual events for men and women. The provisional Shooting competition schedule for APMG 2018 is as follows: 0800-1100 7/9 Fri 8/9 Sat 9/9 Sun 10/9 Mon 11/9 Tue PET * 12/9 Wed 13/9 Thu 14/9 Fri 15/9 Sat 1100 1400 1400 1700 PET * PET * PET * PET * PET * PET * Remarks: - : Trap event for women - : Trap event for men - PET *: Practice time available The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for the evening of Saturday 8 September 2018 with the Closing Ceremony on the evening of Saturday 15 September 2018. All dates and times are subject to change, pending final entries received. A detailed schedule for each age category will be developed throughout 2017 and early 2018
2. Competition Format The APMG2018 Shooting competition consists only the Clay Target events, and each participant can select the events to compete. Due to venue capacity constraints, the events will be limited to a capped number of entries. Due to competition scheduling, each participant is only permitted to register for one Trap event. In line with the sport-specific rules, participants must compete in their designated age group, with your age determined as at 31 December 2018. For example, if you are 39 during Games time but have turned 40 by 31 December, you would compete in the 40-49 age category. The Clay Target events and age categories for Shooting at APMG2018 are as follows: Discipline Event Age Categories Shooting (Trap) TR 125 (Clay Target) Men:, 50+ TR 75 (Clay Target) Women:, 50+ 2.1. Anticipated Shoot off rules: All ISSF events shoot offs will be as per the ISSF Rules The Shooting competition committee reserves the right to alter all shoot offs if necessary. 3. Practice The range and associated facilities will be available for practice on 5 th & 6 th September 2018, and during available PET time prior to the start of the Shooting events. More information regarding booking process for training will be provided in future editions of this Guide.

Competition Details 4.1. Competition Rules The APMG2018 Shooting events will be conducted by the Penang Rifle Cub (PRC) in conjunction with the National Shooting Association of Malaysia (NSAM) and in line with the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) rules. The ISSF rules and regulations for clothing apply for all events. 4.2. Hours of Competition The competition will commence daily from 0800hrs. Finish time depends on the final number of entries in each event. Each event may be split across groups in line with range availability, with participants in the same age category may be required to compete at different times within the same day. 4.3. Technical Delegate The ISSF has endorsed the appointment of RANJIT SINGH (MAS) to act in the role of Technical Delegate for the APMG2018 Shooting competition. The Technical Delegate will oversee the implementation of all sport specific rules and requirements at the Games. 4.4. Registration and Medals The medals presentation will be held on the same day after the completion of an event. 5. Equipment All participants are required to bring their own firearm, as well as being responsible for obtaining the necessary permits: All sports equipment used by shooters in competition must comply with the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Rules and Regulations. Equipment checks shall be conducted in accordance with the ISSF Rule Book. Failure to meet any specification could lead to the shooter being disqualified from the competition.
5.1. Customs Clearance for Controlled, Prohibited or Restricted Items Shooting competition participants must take note of the following paragraphs on the general customs clearance policies in Malaysia, in particular, if some items of their equipment are listed as prohibited or restricted items: i. Declare verbally to the Immigration officers any prohibited or restricted item(s) that you are carrying. ii. Produce the prohibited or controlled items together with the import permit, if any. iii. Identify oneself as a participant of the Asia Pacific Masters Games 2018 competition. iv. Firearms with wrong serial numbers and those not in the submitted Form will be detained by the authorities. 5.2. Regulation of Equipment Participants must take note that the following types of equipment are regulated under the Arms & Explosives Act Malaysia which requires licenses for: i. Firearms ii. Ammunitions (Kindly take note that for APMG2018 shooting competition, ammunitions are not allowed to be brought in but can be purchased at the competition venue. Kindly refer to 3.1.) 5.3. Firearms and Ammunitions 5.3.1. Import and Export of Firearms The following work procedure will be adopted for import/export of firearms for the Asia Pacific Masters Games 2018 Shooting competition: i. APMG2018 will consolidate list of participants and their firearms (sorted by country and category of equipment). ii. APMG2018 submits list and applies for approval to import/export (at least fortyfive (45) working days before date of import/export). iii. Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) will process request and will issue the approval to import/export to APMG2018. iv. APMG2018 will send the approval to import/export to the participants prior to arrival.
5.3.2. Firearms i. The following work procedure will be adopted for clearance of firearms for the Asia Pacific Masters Games 2018 Shooting competition. ii. For firearms, armed escort will be required. iii. APMG2018 will make arrangements for the Malaysian Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) Police to pick up the firearms from aircraft. iv. APMG2018 representative will meet up with the MAHB Police officers at the arrival belt area and then proceed to Baggage Office at arrival hall for declaration. v. Customs Department will clear firearms (by confirming with the import license/ approval letter issued). vi. Once cleared, APMG2018 and MAHB Police will escort the arms to the approved place of storage. vii. All participants must declare all of the firearms which will be brought into Malaysia in advance. Participants need to complete the firearms form and return it sixty (60) days before their arrival time to the APMG2018 organizing committee. The firearms will be stored at the armory in the competition venue at Penang Rifle Club, Penang. viii. All participants are advised to pack their firearms separately. All participants are also advised to store each of their firearms individually in a case or a bag. ix. The number of firearms, their serial numbers with caliber must be stated clearly and correctly (e.g., 0.177 air pellets, 0.22rounds, etc.) in the Firearms and Ammunition Form. x. Firearms with wrong serial numbers and which are not in the submitted Form will be detained by the authorities. xi. 6. Accommodation The APMG 2018 organisers recommend the following selected hotels for shooting participants based on location and accessibility to the competition venue: - Evergreen Laurel Hotel - Gurney Hotel Penang - Vouk Hotel Suites However, participants are free to select own accommodation according to own preference.
