Medd Medical Officer: Dr. Leong RACE 1: THE AMERICAN HONEY BETTER SHARED HANDICAP - 1500M RAFFERTY (William Pike) - Raced tightly and bumped on two occasions shortly after the start. In regards to the performance, rider advised that the gelding was unsuited to the moderate pace set through the early and middle stages. DANTE'S ALERT (Mitchell Pateman) - Raced tightly and bumped on two occasions shortly after the start. DELTA BAY (Ryan Hill) - Held up for clear running from on straightening until near the 100m. CALIFORNIA COUGAR (Andrew Heffernan) - Slow into stride. General: On inquiry it was established that shortly after the start DANTE S ALERT (M. Pateman) shifted towards the running rail as RAFFERTY was moving inwards with DANTE S ALERT then shifting out slightly making contact and racing tightly with RAFFERTY. Apprentice M. Pateman was told that in similar circumstances he would be expected to shift inwards fully and obtain a position on the running rail and not allow his mounts to shift outwards and contact other runners. RACE 2: CONNECTOR DRILLING HANDICAP - 1400M ROSALIE PARK - Late scratching at 9.15am on Veterinary advice when found to have sustained a stone bruise. Trainer Mr. S. Ryan was advised that a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness will be required prior to the mare racing or trialling again. CELTIC ROCK (Troy Turner) - Lay inwards approaching the 200m with rider then pulling the whip through to his left hand. PIPPALINE (Shaun Mc Gruddy) - Raced wide from the 600m. Lay inwards on straightening. RACE 3: WILD TURKEY BOURBON GIVE EM THE BIRD HANDICAP - 1800M MASCHINO (Kyra Yuill) - Raced wide on straightening. HENRY JOSEPH (Mitchell Pateman) - Slow into stride and was crowded shortly after. TRUE COMRADE (Danny Miller) - Raced ungenerously in the early stages and raced wide throughout. Commenced to yield ground from the 800m. Due to the disappointing performance, Trainer Mrs. W. Miller advised that the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
ASCOT : 31.03.3012 190/2 RACE 4: MYER FASHIONS ON THE FIELD TROPHY - 1200M ELLE CHOISIT (Jason Whiting) - Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the reason for the mare racing on the pace today, rider advised that he had anticipated being in a midfield position, however after commencing well from a wide barrier and when the pace eased near the 800m he was unable to obtain cover and allowed the mare to stride forward. EVEN ASTAR (Ryan Hill) - Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. KIM CLASSIC (Shaun Mc Gruddy) - Lay inwards passing the 200m. SILVER OMEN (Troy Turner) - Raced keenly in the middles stages and was restrained from heels approaching the 600m and shifted inwards slightly. RESETGOLD (Jason Brown) - Raced wide on straightening. ROSE (Kyra Yuill) - Lay outwards approaching the 600m and was restrained from heels and lost ground. Held up for clear running from straightening until the 150m. General: Approaching the 600m SILVER OMEN, when racing keenly, was restrained from heels and shifted inwards slightly as ROSE lay outwards causing that mare to be restrained and lose ground. RACE 5: MINANALYTICAL-MISS ANDRETTI STAKES - 1200M WERD (Campbell Mc Callum) - Over-raced in the early stages and got its head in the air. KID CHOISIR (Paul Harvey) - Underwent a Veterinary examination upon arrival on course and was passed fit to start. ALL FRIARED UP (Steven Parnham) - When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider advised that the mare was under pressure prior to straightening and did not respond to his riding in the straight. A post race Veterinary examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr. S. Bates will monitor the mare s recovery and advise Stewards of any abnormalities and of his future intentions with the mare. SIR HALLOWELL (Shaun O'Donnell) - Threw its head on jumping. RACE 6: SKYY VODKA-W.A. OAKS - 2400M CAIGUNA (Shaun Mc Gruddy) - When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider explained that the filly had not settled when leading and consequently was unable to finish the race off. Trainer Mr. F. Kersley will be contacted in the ensuing days to discuss the filly s recovery and his future intentions. DARK MISS (Kyra Yuill) - Raced wide from the 700m. SHEZAPRO (Shaun O'Donnell) - Raced keenly in the early stages. The bandages on both hind legs worked loose from the 200m. Stewards established that whilst the bandages had been secured in accordance with the rules, the cotton packing under the bandages had worked loose during running, unravelling the bandages from the inside. Trainer Mr. B. Fitzgerald was advised that when applying bandages in future, a similar situation does not re-occur. OPERA SERIA (Jason Whiting) - A post race veterinary examination of the filly revealed it to be showing signs of mild tying up in the hind quarters. Co-trainer C. Price advised that the filly would now be sent for a spell. BAG OF STARS (Steven Parnham) - A post race veterinary examination of the filly revealed it to have pulled up sore in both fore legs. Trainer Mr. N. Parnham was advised that a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness will be required prior to the filly racing or trialling again. Trainer advised that the filly would now be sent for a spell. Plating Change: SHEZAPRO - Bar shoe on near fore
ASCOT : 31.03.3012 190/3 RACE 7: SCHWEPPES-MELVISTA STAKES - 2200M FLAG OFFICER (Craig Staples) - Impeded and carried back behind the heels of a tiring runner between the 700m and 500m. ROHAN (Jarrad Noske) - Lay inwards from the 600m. Shifted in and bumped another runner at the 200m. UNCLE GEORGE (Shaun Meeres) - Impeded behind the heels of a tiring runner near the 500m and was steadied for a short distance. Lost near hind plate during running. DRIVE WEST (Brad Parnham) - A post race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to have returned showing mild lameness in the near fore. Trainer Mr. J. Miller was advised that the gelding will require a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness prior to trialling or racing again. REIGN OF TERROR (Steven Parnham) - Bumped at the 200m. CAPE FEAR (Jason Brown) - Over-raced in the early stages. Rider advised that the gelding lay outwards in running. Trainer Mr. D. Kitchingman advised that the gelding would now be sent for a spell. PSYCHIC CONNECTION (Paul King) - Raced wide throughout. RACE 8: AUSDRILL-KARRAKATTA PLATE - 1200M EL RIJES (Peter Hall) - Slow into stride. Blocked for clear running in the straight. DETECTION (Steven Parnham) - Raced wide in the early and middles stages. OUR MAXY BOY (Campbell Mc Callum) - Bumped at the start. DARLINGTON ABBEY (Paul Harvey) - A post race veterinary examination of the filly revealed no abnormalities. MISS SOLIS (Patrick Carbery) - Raced wide throughout. LOOKING AHEAD (Shaun O'Donnell) - Over-raced in the early stages and was steadied from heels near the 800m. Held up for clear running from on straightening until near the 200m. THE DANEHILL ROSE (Shaun Meeres) - Raced wide from the 600m. KEEP FATH (Brad Parnham) - Slow into stride. SPICE AGAIN (Jason Whiting) - Impeded for a short distance near the 100m. FINE COPPER (Craig Staples) - Bumped at the start. Raced wide on straightening. NOTHING PERSONAL (Jarrad Noske) - Raced keenly in the early stages. RACE 9: HOCKEYROOS HANDICAP - 1400M BLACK BLAST (Joseph Azzopardi) - Rider was dislodged when returning to scale and took an apparent harmless fall. CHIN CHIN (Troy Turner) - Dwelt at the start. STOMPIN (NZ) (Shaun Mc Gruddy) - Bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the middle stages. NOVARESE (William Pike) - Scrambled at the start losing ground. RED MERCEDES (Ryan Hill) - Over-raced in the middle stages and was held up for clear running in the straight. CAPRICIOUS LAD (Steven Parnham) - Raced wide throughout. VERMEER (Peter Hall) - Held up from on straightening until passing the 100m. NEW TIME (Jason Brown) - Held up for clear running from the 300m until the 125m. TAKEONEFORTHETEAM (Colin Haddon) - Raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up for clear running for the majority of the straight. ELECTIONEER (Paul King) - Raced wide from the 600m. STORMY PRINCE (Kyra Yuill) - Commenced awkwardly and bumped and over-raced in the early and middle stages. Rider reported that the gelding lay outwards from the 1000m until

Bairstow reported that MOVIE MOGUL had returned with some minor soreness to the near fore pastern and would now be sent for a spell. Ayres reported that FREETIME pulled up sore over the hind quarters and has received chiropractic treatment and subsequently will not start in a race for a period of at least 2 weeks. Ascot Saturday 24 March 2012 - Race 7 ACO Polycrete Hcp,1500m Trainer Mr. M. Burnett advised that RISKTAKER returned with cardiac arrhythmia and would now be retired. Pinjarra 19 February 2012 - Race 5 Bennu International Handicap 1000m After initially being reported as being sent for a spell, NINE TENORS has since changed stables and will continue with its current preparation.
