Todd Hardin has taken on the responsibility of submitting our chapter s events to the News & Views section of the MI magazine. With Todd s help we will now have regular submissions to this section. This section in the MI magazine keeps other clubs informed of our clubs activities, celebrations etc. Submissions to Todd need to be done by the 5 th of every odd month. I apologize; there was no newsletter for July, time got away from me as I got caught up in remodeling our home and a steady stream of relatives and friends coming to visit. I also developed a detached retina. Surgery to repair my right eye was on July 20 th. That surgery produced unforeseen complications so my 2 nd surgery was July 24 th. I am happy to report that the surgery was successful. Doctor tells me to expect 12 weeks to fully recover. George Donner July Activities Lindley Arm tour on Pomme de Terre Lake was canceled, we were short on participants. Augusts Activity August 19 th is the Pomme de Tour Pomme Arm of Pomme de Terre Lake. The Gil Hamm Chapter Challenge is August 23-25 on Lake of the Woods. Red Wing Lodge is tournament headquarters. This year we have 2 teams representing our chapter: Team 1: Jim Coach Wilson, Dave Admire, Tim Dunaway, George Donner Team 2: Robert Viscek, Denis Viscek, James Smith, Bill Chapman For more information see http://gilhamm.com/index.html September Activity Saturday September 16 th is Guide for a Day Fundraiser with a possible spill over to the 17 th if there is enough demand. This event is a major fundraiser for our chapter. Chapter members donate their time, gas, provide tackle and guide guests on Pomme De Terre Lake for an 8 hour trip. The guests pay $125 and are treated to a dinner immediately following the event. This year we are guiding on Pomme de Terre and Hazel Creek lakes. We need guides, if you are able to guide or if you don t want to guide but can help we need help with dinner setup & cooking. Please contact Wayne Humphrey at 314-440-2173 or wayne@missourimuskies.org.this is a good chance to tune up for the fall tournaments. Guests being guided on Hazel Creek will not be provided a dinner and the donations are reduced to $100. September 23 rd is the 11 th annual Border War Challenge between the Pomme de Terre Chapter & the Shawnee Muskie Hunters on beautiful Pomme de Terre Lake. Participants are asked to register by September 9 th to provide a head count for the awards dinner planning. For a registration or questions, contact George Donner,george@missourimuskies.org, (816) 678-1623.

September 24 th is the King of the Lake Tournament Part 2 IT S NOT TO LATE TO ENTER, since no fish were caught on Part1 and there are no participation points, everyone is on even ground. The full registration of $50 must be paid to compete for the title. There will be no new entries allowed for the 3 rd and final leg on November 4 th. We have 10 entries competing for the title. Fishing hours are 7am to 12 noon Registration information is at the end of the news letter. Lake St Clair Trip We had only 4 fisherman on this years trolling trip, Wayne Humphrey, Doug Hutchinson, Terry Fazikas and Denis Ledgerwood. Fishing was in a word OUTSTANDING. Over the 2 day period 24 Muskies were hooked and 23 landed including 4 monsters 50" or and over. First photo is Wayne with a super fat 51", 2nd and 3rd photos are Doug's 53' which won our big fish pot, 4th photo is Doug again with a 50". (I'll send my 560" later) When Pomme is 85 degrees the place to be is Lake St. Clair with it's 76 degree water. The Lake was up 3-4' above normal and the spawn was late but the big girls were eating. Of the 16 fish 40" and over 13 were caught trolling Cow Girls with double 10 blades primarily with Chartreuse/Yellow skirts. Many Thanks to Captain Ed and his Mate from Medicine Man Charters. You can believe we are going back next year at the same time in July. If anyone is interested in going I'll start a list and get back to you after the first of the year. Congratulations to Tim Dunaway. Tim hit another milestone by successfully releasing # 200 on July 8 th while fishing on the Indian Lake Chain in Ontario Canada. #199-41 #200-33 Fish #199 was caught about 8:30pm. I had just about given up on catching anything but this one was real aggressive on the figure 8. The 41" Muskie hit a Kramer Bros bucktail. We decided to

head in but wanted to troll a little with a Naze Livid Fish and this little 33" decide to hit. The little guy was number 200 registered to Muskies Inc.
