Club Cheerleading Color Guard Sponsor Ms. Fisher and Ms. Walker Mr. Bryant and Ms. Strawser Description of the Club Cheerleading promotes school spirit throughout HBMS. Some activities include: performing at HBMS basketball games, attending Sat. cheer college camps, performing at pep rallies, fundraising, etc. Use of props along with movement to express dynamic passages in the music accompanying the marching band show. Requirements Room First Meeting Meetings Signed permission form, Physical form, 2 recommendation forms from current teachers at HBMS. Physical Form and must have and keep passing grades Gym Information Day for Prospective Cheerleaders and Parent Meeting: Tuesday, Aug. 29th 5:30 pm Media Center Parent Meeting: Practices will be Tuesdays at 7:45 am Tues., August 29th 23 5:30 Meetings TBD pm

Drama Club Mr. Bryant and Mr. Hughley Drama Club will make live theater accessible to all children, enable young people to gain an appreciation for the arts, and increase selfconfidence, selfesteem, and give them a sense of responsibility. Must have recommendation from Reading or Lang. Every Friday 7:55-8:40 am Jr. Beta Club Ms. Rowley and Mr. Garmon To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among students. Students must make all A s or B s from the previous year and have no contact grade lower than C2. TBD Club is by invitation only. Sponsors will coordinate time to discuss with students. The first Tuesday of every month from 7:55-8:25 am

PALS Club Ms. Hilpertshauser Club for special needs students to socialize and become friends with all student in the school. We will play board games, color, read books, make crafts, and have some socials. We will read all of the GA Book Award Nominees and participate in a competition in January. None Media Center Thurs., August 17th 8:00 am Every other Thursday at 8:00 am. Club ends at the end of January.

Student Council Ms. Henderson Student Council members will participate and plan several events. Members will represent their peers during meetings with faculty, PTA, administrators, and community leaders. Members are expected to behave responsibly and conduct themselves as good representatives of HBMS. Completed application form, 3 teacher recommendations, typed 100-word essay, Interview with sponsor or administrator, Conduct grades (no 3s in conduct, no bus or school suspensions), Officers must have 80 or higher in each academic area and no failing grades in connections classes, Representatives must have 75 or higher in each academic area and no failing grades in connections classes. 31 Applications due to Ms. Henderson by Friday, August 18th. Elections will be held after this.
