Club News Eastern Suburbs Gymnastics Club Term 2 : 2nd May 2016 10th July 2016 Welcome to Term 2 Wow where did Term 1 go! We were busy here at the club with our annual Easter basket raffles - we had over 30 winners - now that's a lot of chocolate! Thank you everyone for contributing to this successful fundraiser. We also hosted The Mini Tramp and Tumbling (MTT) Competition with over 220 gymnasts from clubs from all over Auckland attending. Here we are in Term 2, and with the weather getting colder don't forget to encourage your gymnasts to bring a jumper to throw on after class plus it is also dark earlier so it's a great time to remind your gymnasts that they must wait inside the building to be picked up after class. Please see below further information on our other updated Health and Safety requirements. There will be a lot of activity in the gym this term with our competitive squads training hard for their upcoming competitions and our general gymnasts working towards the next Rainbow Test on the Sunday 3rd July (please note this change of date). Please read on to find out more information. We are very fortunate to welcome Alexandra Koudinova to our coaching team. Alexandra is originally from Vladivostok in Russia and comes from a strong gymnastics heritage. Both her parents were gymnasts and gymnastics coaches and her husband is also a gymnastics coach. She moved to New Zealand in 1997 and has been coaching gymnastics at North Harbour Gymnastics for the past 19 years. Alexandra has an 18 year old daughter who is a gymnastics coach and a 24 year old son who has competed in gymnastics at three Commonwealth Games and five World Championships. He has also qualified for the Rio Olympics. Alexandra will be providing coaching expertise across all the ESGC competitive levels. We have had an update to our safety policies and procedures. Please see the new signs below. These are to ensure that safety of all children and gymnasts, both inside and outside the club. ESGC 89 Apirana Avenue Glen Innes Auckland.
